- The second round of the @ucichannel Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup in Les Gets, France, delivered the goods. On one hand the bad weather could not spoil the joy of countless fans, celebrating their grand return to the side of the track, on the other hand the World's finest racers had a hard battle to fight down a rain-soaked mountain. In the end it was Tahnee Seagrave & Thibaut Daprela who took home the wins.

@@egcoon2750 UCI is the international ciclistic organisation that monitors and regulates all of the worlds biggest venues. Basically if it's a world wide race it's mostly always under UCI control. Union Cycliste Internationale is what the initials stand for.
DH world cup is just one of many cup races or venues they regulate.
Future DH venues under UCI this year are
August 24-29: Val di Sole, Italy
September 4-5: Lenzerheide, Switzerland
September 14-15 Snowshoe (1) USA
September 18-19: Snowshoe (2) USA
USA has 2 because of some cancelling over the course of the year.

Just goes to show what experience can do for you. Minnaar didn't look phased at all by the slick conditions. I am so impressed how he found traction and still went for it when most everyone else looked like the were on ice. Kerr is a mad man also. Props to all these savage riders. So awesome. Love it

I held my breath evertime a rider is released. Amazing riding from everyone! I can't even imagine how I'd go down there, with sketchiness cranked to 120%.

I remember Les Gets fondly. A police officer wanted to give us a 20€ ticket because we riode into a one-way street on our bikes. As an alternative, he took our chairlift tickets for an hour and we went to Snack Attack (which is no more) to have a burger.

Has it even happened that the race was cancelled/postponed due to the conditions? I recently started watching dh and saw the highlights from some horrendous conditions last year... i always watched ski jumping and there it's quite common to cancel the competition because of the weather...
It’s part of the race and one of the reasons we love this sport I guess
