@@paulp5215 No, this has the iDrive 8 screens like the M3 Lci, it just doesn’t have the new fascia because the normal G8X’s don’t have new fascias either.

Being a die hard M fanboy, this brought tears to my eyes. The E90 M3 is legendary enough and I am fortunate enough to own one, but I cannot wait to work my butt off and purchase this future classic. BMW M for life. This is a dream come true.

...einfach "WOW!". Cooler Power Kombi. Es wird ein Traum bleiben, wenn überhaupt mal ne Mitfahrt sofern sie sich bietet. Eine Klasse für sich wie auch der M5. BMW at its Best.
@BMW BIW Munich from an international BMW plant:
1. We are hemming the rear wheelhouse arch in FR 3
2. After a geo line usually a respot line follows
3. We call it stud welding
4. We measure in our CMM room specific sections and assys/subassys.
5. We approach a measuring point to ensure the quality (AWK/FMK)
6. The bodyshop finishing department is called MF (metal finish).
7. Usually we mount a fender.
8. After assemly of HOP as well as assembly parts such as front lights, head lights, front bumper, rear bumper, the gap and flush measurement shall meet our standard requirements.
9. We mount the tailgate in our finish lines

I feel so bad for Alpina. They've been filling in this void for such a long time and now BMW singlehandedly "took away" one of their best selling models.
Well, BMW also bought the whole company and Alpina will stop production in 2025.
Maybe they will continue the name for some high exclusive lines, but nobody knows. So anybody that always wanted one, should better hurry.
but on the other hand, alpina could take the m3 touring and use it as a base for a new car
@@sirforest9453 Pretty sure Alpina have never used an M-car, theyve always used the biggest engines from the non M-cars, like the B58 in the 340i/B3.
@@TheGamingNorwegian Yeah, that´s correct. And Alpina and BMW M have quite different philosophies for their cars, Alpina puts more emphasis on luxury than sportscar.
Alpina doesn’t use the huge grille, so they still have a place on the market.
If BMW doesn't offer a manual option with this car, then I'm afraid that would be a huge missed opportunity for the brand. Please offer a 6 speed manual BMW🙏
The RWD version of this has a 6 speed manual, your prayers have been heard! 😁👍
AWD will only be automatic.

Very awesome and interesting video. Love the BMW M series, i have 2 BMW E30 myself, which are not M, one 2 door 318is and 4 door 1.6 which are really awesome and iconic cars to the era. Hopefully ill get my hands on an BMW M series car one day, in the future ;). Keep up the good work and make more those awesome big boy toys!

Great! Didn't think that pre-series assembly as already that close to real-car manufacturing in terms of manufacturing robotization and automation.
That’s the point of it. The pre series is not only for development but also for the plant to “train” or better to verify if all works well, incl suppliers as well obviously.

I’m wondering why it’s such an effort to bring that m3 touring to production when they already had a 340i wagon and an m3 sedan. I thought it would be straight forward and easy to just combine those two into one car…

Leute, ihr habt den Plan verloren. Der wiegt mehr als ein M5 touring E34.
Gewicht hat nur Nachteile. Ironisch das der Heritage M Logo aus E9 CSL stammt. Erinnert sich denn keiner mehr wofür der L steht.
Der Z4 M E85 war der letzte M Auto wobei dies noch berücksichtigt wurde.
Falls du mal in nem M3/M4 oder M5 drinn saßest dann würdest du wissen dass das Teil so viel Dampf unter der Haube hat das du denkst das Teil wiegt nur 1,2 Tonnen
Die momentan Ms fahren sich wie kein anderes Auto und sind unheimlich schnell und mache ihre Konkurrenz trotz ihrem hohen Gewichts trotzdem nen harten Kampf und müssen nichts an Ausstattung Einbußen
