These small knives with long handles were used in the past to sharpen writing quills.
The blade on this one is a forge welded bandsaw blade (spring steel) and high carbon steel. The handle consists of brass, stag antler and oak wood.

Holy cow... This is the best video i've seen this year. Amazing work, i just have one question... Why didn't you etch the blade to get the design to pop out? Great work, you deserve much more attention.
BurlyWoodWorks Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked the video. Well at first I etched the blade, but due to how the pattern came out, and also how it looked with the handle, the contrast between the blade and handle was not pretty in my opinion. So I went with a polished blade instead. Oh, and I'm sorry for the late reply :)
