I love How humans making unhuman movements can be more scary than ghosts or gore
all about that uncanny valley
Because that is 100% more likely to happen then a ghost telling me to get the fuck out of their house or something
Yes!!!!
I love how I really can relate to your comment.
@@lic3d127 thats exactly what i was saying, you cant really prove or believe ghost are real but a human ... We know we are real, so the fear of this happening sky rockets
major props to the guy, he nailed those unsettling movements, without being over dramatic, so well
Yeah the way he pokes his head forward made my blood run cold and sent chills up my neck
His movements are so sharp yet not overdramatic theyre kinda cartoon like its so creepy
The backrooms on a train
Bro I won’t lie I’m so used to gore that as he grew nearer I jumped each time 💀
She’s a brilliant actress. So much emotion. You can truly see her fear. So rare to find in short horror films.
Not one word uttered, yet you can see how she went from bored to suddenly interested when eavesdropping to unsettled all under 5 mins! Hope she gets far.
The way her breath was noticibly short, we could feel trapped just like her character, the silent cry it's really a good job !
It’s ok when you can squirt water in her eyes
In so many short horror films, there will be some disturbing event, creature, noise, monster, or whatever and the main actor barely even flinches or seems alarmed. This lady did a good job without even saying a word!
This short film focuses on terror more than horror. The feeling that you know theres a threat, but no direct sign of danger. No jumpscares, scary noises. Just pure terror and eeriness, knowing that its there but looking and seeing that its gone. Love it
Terror is a form of horror.
The thing I like the most about this is that there are no jump-scares. No things appearing out of nowhere, no sharp noises. It's pure atmosphere, and that is so rare to see these days.
AH thanks mate! Really glad you enjoyed it! :)
TheStrangr: I don't know about that: seeing that man duck very fast, almost too fast, in the aisle coming toward her made me jump. It became predictable at the ending but worthy of 4/5 stars.
If they would have added a jump scare at the end, it would have sent me over the edge!!!
I think 2:45 is like a small jumpscare 😂
that's fear
He leans in and whispers softly in her ear….
“We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty,”
BAHAHAHA
😂😂😂 perfect ending!
😭😭😭
Gold!
Hahahahaha
this is literally what cats do
This comment made me feel better
I had a mini heart attack when he leaned his head forward during the first encounter
This is how you do modern horror. I will always believe that people are scarier than anything else.
That’s cap.
I agree. its up to everyone for themselves if they believe in demons ghosts etc and through that may find them scarier or not. People exist and history proved that we are capable of very horrible things
@@cadebeek3111 How so?
Jourdan: I agree. Humans can be the absolute pits!!! :(
I dealt with paranormal but humans Def scare me more especially if they're crazy af
No ghosts, no darkness, no blood, yet very creepy. Good job!
Thank you so much Anton!
thas wht I said
He could be a ghost
@@evimin5326 This is very true :)
Dude is either a ghost or a ninja cause man is quiet. Lol
The lack of music made this so much more chilling!!
Who's here from tiktok?
🙋🏼♀️
Why?
The way that as she's trying not to look, we the audience aren't allowed to look either which makes it even more unnerving when she finally gives in and takes another peak. So well done!
*peek peak....summit of mountain.
Guessing these comments r trolling no way y'all actually think this is even remotely scary in any way or even goodly made
@@Poeticfloetic Don't be an ass.
@@flixs1353you clearly don’t understand horror kid. You probably think screamer jumpscares and generic zombie ghosts constitutes “good horror”.
@@flixs1353”goodly made” yep, you’re too young to be on CZcams
This perfectly captures the sensation of there being someone who you feel is a threat that you need to keep an eye on, but that you are scared to look at for fear of them engaging with you as a result.
Yes. Sometimes I wonder, if she just hadn't looked at him a second time, would he have left her alone? I really think that he took her repeated peaking as some kind of invitation
Also a other thing it gets quite has the video goes on
I mean I’m pretty sure at the point when everyone has just magically disappeared and there’s just one random dude on the train who is eerily watching you and getting closer to you is something you keep an eye on regardless of any consequences
You know whats so unsettling? That guy looks exactly like one of those serial killer police sketches
She perfectly portrayed the feeling of panic. You can see it in her eyes, her body movements.
I gotta give props to the actress! Her expressions were so spot on! Plus, the fact that her response to what was happening was so quiet made me feel more claustrophobic and helpless - knowing that if I was her, no one was around and I gotta deal with the fact that I’m going to die that night. She killed that role! Bravo!
I think she was under reacting tho
@@sterkar99I don't think she is for a Brit. It'd either go 2 ways, you'd actually exactly like her or march over and asking him what the fuck he thinks he's doing
The way she walked onto the train and looked around, staring at people for a while, at the same time showing a sort of anxiety... it makes me think that she's the type of person who has social anxiety. The idea of being seen is scarier for her than the idea of seeing others. She watches them, but she can't stand being watched. And that particular anxiety shines through when someone spots her and starts paying too much attention to her... getting close and closer... until she feels as though she's living in her own horror film. It gave me more of an insight on mental trauma than anything supernatural or based on senseless horror. Very interesting!!
I also saw it as she's a person who's anxious before getting on the train, but seeing people and being around them gave her a sense of comfort and safety. Then, all of the sudden, that was gone
This comment right here is what art collectors see in painting of lines and colors🙌🙌perfect explanation..pretty cool that you got all that from this!!
This is a very interesting comment and amazing example of awareness and thinking outside of the box
i thought she was just looking for a seat lol

I'm 4 years late to this gem. Under 5 minutes horror is quite difficult to make. A Phenomenal work and the actress is awesome.
this bro singlehandedly revived the horror genre in 4 mins
This made me go cold. Better than most modern day horror movies

Dang this was so good. That fear of not knowing where he was, had me holding my breath. The actress is what sold it for me. I don’t think I blinked once lol. Well done.
Thanks so much! and yeh Tameka is amazing!
This short is almost like playing a game of chicken with yourself. At like 3 minute mark I was ready to turn it off, at the 3:38 mark I was like really, REALLY ready to turn it off but saw there was less than 40 seconds left and I needed to know how it ended and I could physically feel my heart pound. Well done.
I felt like I couldn’t breathe. Omg.
These people are so talented. Everyone who took part in the film, on and off camera. I even wish it was longer.
Probably the only short film that actually scared me
Really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks pal x

Only a few horror short stories can make me ACTUALLY scared and this is one of them. I love how everyone just disappeared and it just kept getting closer and closer! Keep up the great work! 👏🏾
The way the tension builds and the movements, it's amazing. Such a well crafted horror piece💛💛
This short shows exactly how a negative thought could interfere with someone’s life. The man could represent the “negative thought”.You can see how once she notices the “negative thought” everything else just goes out the window. The more she focuses on it, the more it overtakes her mind until eventually there is no more positive and nothing but a negative fate is sneaking up on her.
This is a brilliant comment.
Well said!!
Well well well
This is absolutely true, thank you.
Saw a quick reaction vid on Tik Tok for this and that alone terrified me. The absolute level of discomfort this gave me almost instantly…my blood ran cold. I love all things spooky & scary. This was a different level of actual fear. I found myself instinctively wanting to cover my eyes. Just the small but powerful movements…made such an eerie yet massive impact. Well done. Ya got a girl hella spooked. 🤯😟
That's where I came from 😂

Mine was Koda’s reaction 😭
Haha same!!
He reached her ear slowly and whispered "look like you missed your spanish lesson today"
Love it when a piece of horror can make me feel shivers without jump scares and random noises
This was a good horror short. Tameka Mortimer (the lead actress) emoted really well, without saying any lines. I liked it.
Thank you very much! Tameka is indeed a very strong actor and I'm looking forward to working with her again. I do hope you enjoy our other videos!
I think whats so scary about this is how somebody can just do this to you, at any time a person can just start fucking stalking and creeping closer to you with you having no idea where they are but you just know they are there
This needs to be made into a longer movieeeee .. but then again it was perfect ! That dudes movements and weird fake outs were so good
One of the few creepy short videos, actually giving me a shiver. I even knew he/it would appear in the reflection and still it was really creepy
I also love the part where she looks at him/it multiple times. Eventually he/it response in a "normal" way and yet unsettling and I can't even pinpoint why unless I watch it again
The crazy thing is this scares me more than the modern day scary movies. I think about this everyday
Thank you! We like to think its a relevant film :)Stay safe!
Finally a scary film that scared me, damn.
In my 48 years....this 4 minute short scared me more than any horror movie I’ve ever seen. I actually had to pause at the first glimpse of the guy and wait two days for my son to get home to watch the rest.
I can’t even begin to tell you how this is going to haunt me.
I’m not easily scared....this is what ruined me. I’ll never get that out of my head.
Just so you know the actor who plays the creepy dude is Atilla Akinci and he is one of the nicest and sweetest most gentle souls you could ever meet! We had a lot of giggles making this with him! Hope that helps!
Does that help? Not really. Lol. I guess it’s a testament to a short horror that was well done by all.
I was reading the other comments about his eyes, etc and couldn’t bring myself to watch it again to see what they were referring to.
Bravo to you all.
I’m realizing his last name...ha!
Atilla.... Ya, ödümü patlattın.

Masterpiece. One of the scariest short horror films ever.
This actually made the hair on my arms and neck stand up it gave me that uncontrolled raw and primal sense of warning like it flipped my fight or flight switch. It made me feel uneasy and I loved it. So simple and extremely well executed
It’s crazy how making eye contact with strangers is so unsettling sometimes
Holy...I haven't felt fear and suspense build like that in many years. Well done!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness. I LOVE horror movies, well used too, now a days its just all gore and jump scares. This, THIS, was truly CREEPY! I had chills within the first few seconds of the guy showing up. Good job!
The realism is what makes this so creepy and effective without needing to be over the top. Nicely done🙂
Saw a short edit of this on TikTok and it’s honestly amazing. So simple yet unsettling. Love when people make good scary mini films without using jump-scares. 10/10 :)

You are way too kind. I'm doing my best to respond to as many comments as I can. Man On A Train was rejected from every festival we sent it and this response has been amazing! Keep on keeping on!!
@@mini-nightmaresofficial3065 WOW!! That is so shocking to know. Well over 28k people who liked it speaks for itself right there. You have audience that really enjoys your work. A lot of film festivals can be very cliquey, favor the popular, etc.. This film is fantastic! More power to you and everyone involved.
No jump scares (thank god), no loud music, no over the top acting, bright light... and still (or mostly because of said things) one of the creepiest movies (be it short or full length) I have seen in the last months! Fantastic work all of you! Love the subtle and lifelike acting of all the characters, Tameka nails it. For someone that does not say one word, she succeeds that the viewer (me at least) worries about her more and more throughout the film. And god damn, this "man on the train" is creepy as it gets! Like I said before: fantastic work!
Hollywood: watch and learn how it's done right!
Thanks so much for your kind words!! Really glad you enjoyed! And yes Tameka is a legend of an actor! x
Oh my god this movie has scared me in 4 mins more than most horror films. Amazing , too good ❤❤❤
No loud music or jump scare noises, you're literally in the moment with her. This is so realisticaly framed, simple, almost mundane, yet so scary BECAUSE of the realism. It's amazing.
This is exactly how horror should be! Creepy, no jumpscares and things that really get under your skin. Excelent work!
Yeah I’m always way more impressed by a horror film that can make me scared without jump scares!
I love scary like this...kept me on the edge of my couch with covers on my face...and his sound movements alone had me shook...this was great!
Still one of the best short horrors I've ever seen!
This is so impressive! The fact that you managed the strike actual anxiety and fear without distorting reality through dramatic editing and loud noises, without a monstrous appearance to the 'monster', so on. Top tier!
He’d be so good at the squid game
LOL
@AlexAndre he has to say sumthin mainstream for likes on the internet duhh
@AlexAndre i love the show, but it’s kinda annoying how everyone relates everything to it. maybe they’re talking about how the dude can remain still for decent amount of time so he’s good at red light green light
LOL
the sound design alone makes this really good. Very well done!
Never take your eye off something that keeps coming closer to you
3:20 is extremely unsettling for me; the guys face looks ALMOST normal. There’s a head, glasses, a nose, but you get the impression that he is grinning, grinning in some horrible, sadistic way.
Such an amazing short film
Edit: Actually zooming into his face? He is grinning, and you can see his eyes, it’s fucking terrifying dear lord it made this so much worse when I rewatched it.
Well if it has a nose then it's definitely a face
Those weren't sunglasses. They were two black empty cavities where its (not his) eyes should be. That thing is definitely not a man.
@um lmao
I watched it in 0.25 to work it out. I don't think he's wearing sunglasses.
God I am so fucking scared rn. I increased the brightness and saw his eyes and him grinning. It makes it so much worse that he was grinning the entire time, and that even though it was hard to see his eyes, he was staring intensely at her too
i'm not sure if this is supposed to be an actual man or something else that just takes the form of one but there's this quote i'm reminded of that goes something like "there's almost nothing scarier than an ill-intended human being"

I just stumbled across this gem of a short. And I enjoyed every creepy second of it! No jumpscares, just very well done creepy atmosphere that builds up tension in a slow and very unsettling pace. Kudos to Tameka Mortimer who manages to make me be very worried about her from the moment on she's alone with that guy. Wonderful and very believable character (how do they say? The best acting is when the audience does not even think you're acting). Thumbs up and gonna go stalk your channel now :)
Seeing the expression on his face when he was between the seats was terrifying
I hollered when he threw his neck out at her lmaooo

She did such an incredible job in creating a genuinely scared/terrified feeling and the dude's movements were super creepy.
The amount of times I've shown this to people to give them an example of perfect, 'simple' but effective horror is off the charts
The loud and incoherent chatter was my favorite thing about this video. Once the dialogue fades, you instantly know something sinister is about to happen. It worked so well
agree
Okay, this was freaking awesome. I mean this took me to a new level of fear. I am thinking this man is a demon or something from the supernatural world. The train car was actually empty but this thing in the form of a man lured her into a false security, believing she was not alone and thus she would get comfortable and stay on the train. Right before her eyes the people were gone, because they never were there. There are so many possibilities that could have happened to her, wow. I am going to watch this way more than once. This is better than most full length horror movies. Amazing, all round great job. Well, this is my take on the film. You should win award for this.
That's a great explanation. When writing it I just went from feeling and seemed scary that the passengers would just disappear. But your theory makes a lot of sense! So glad you enjoyed it! x

wdym 2:45 is hilarious
the man suddenly crouching down while looking at her (as if he had just realized there was something behind the seats staring at him) reminded me of that typical cat-like behavior when a cat spots some animal and immediately switches to "predatory behavior". it's the exact same movement and position. also, the way he silently gets closer to her trying not to be heard... same as how cats (or felines, in general) try to get closer to their prey without letting it run away or escape. if this was intentional, praise to you, it is a perfect way to give anybody the chills: I think we, as humans, still react to certain types of clues in a very instinctive way, such as fear, and animal predatory behavior is probably one of them. great job.
