- This is the best scooter I've ever tested. Fast as lightning, long range, good shocks, solid feel, neat features like walk assist. 56km/hr is insanely fast. The Gortrax GX2. Everything else feels unprofessional now lol. It's HEAVY!

What strikes me as terrifying isn't even that the scooter can go that fast, but that car drivers might underestimate how quick it really is, pulling into a turn thinking that they have plenty of time before you get there...
That happens often.
One flaw you didn't mention was it's lack of recognition of stop signs... LOL! Maybe it has AI and will eventually learn... Great review and overview of the capabilities and of course the flaws! Have a rockin' day!

Here in the lovely State of Massachusetts, That is considered a motorcycle and requires a licensee and insurance to operate and each town can regulate it, so if I was scooting around one town and crossed into another, my scooter maybe illegal!...same with e-bikes... but glad you got a nice scooter! Be safe!
Don't like using the breaks as noisy and annoying??? Does it come with a free coffin? Oh... that's what the included spoon and the jar are used for... Removing any remains from a car windscreen.

Sometimes those screens live in a frequency rhelm cameras cannot enter, not to mention all the traffic lights will likely be flickering.
I just got mine and damn is it a blast!!
During the Covid shut down I had cabin fever so I got a OneWheel skateboard. So much fun and like snowboarding on the streets. Then after mastering the One Wheel I bought a EUC (electric unicycle). Definitely a much more challenging vehicle to master but once you do it is such a fun experience with a feeling of floating through air. Both are great for filming or photography since your hands are always free. Full body safety gear is highly recommended because these machines travel at really high speeds.

I just got a GX1 the heavy weight was a huge difference at first. I got used to it. It’s better and feels more stable than lighter scooters. Also, the shocks are amazing. Wish the range was better and it would be amazing
That's not a bad price considering the speed, I'd just be worry about being flattened by a car or being flattened by one while on the bike.
You should do more scooter reviews. I have a Ninebot Max G2 and a Segway GT2. The GT2 is awesome. 44 MPH and weighs 120 Lbs.
Fellow torontonian, thanks for the review, coming from the segway ninebot i totally agree, range is more important, tho i still would like more top speed, never felt over 50kms, with no regen brake i much lean more towards the apollo phantom with just a little more on the price tag

If you are brave enough to put PMT tires on, it can improve the performance of the ride.
My scooter is much lighter than that. It tops out at 48km per hour with me on it on a flat road. I've gotten up to 56km on a downhill. Mine has 3 speeds. 1 tops out at about 26km, 2 tops out at 38km, and 3 I already mentioned. I usually ride in 2. Your Gotrax seems to have more torque than mine. Mine is a TNE Q4 V3 1800 watts single motor with the biggest battery they offer.

Put celophane over it and make a safety foam mold, then get 200g 3k carbon fiber and a gallon of epoxy resin. Its still not going to be sturdy, but it will look hella cool. Like quck set J&B Weld says 5,000psi, its just cardboard, you need aluminum. But if you put a 3/8in bolt, at least you stolen something.

They cheaped out on the breaks. Those are Mechanical not hydraulic. Basically kids disc brakes for kids who parents don't know better and they are more prone to howling than good hyrdaulic breaks (all discs can howl when wet or super hot though). I actually like the howl in the rain, cause it alerts drivers and pedestrians to my presence like a really annoying horn. Not even joking. Also, I'm 99% sure I don't have to say it, but don't grease the brakes! Not only will you likely die, but it will also destroy the brake pads.

I had an e-scooter. There's certain fun in it but too many drawbacks and dangers from injuries (immediate from falls and collisions with cars and people and accumulative from vibrations transferred to your spine and wrists) to fires when it's charging. Not worth it.

Hey, nice to see you reviewing scooters! Brakes: see if you can activate regenerative braking so the motor will assist. That's great if you go downhill it will gently break without needing to use the disc brakes.
Recently I tested the kukirin G2 master. It's is dual motor and that is really fast but great for hills and off-roading (I'm 192cm and around 90kg). Greets, Mario🛴
