RIP Richard. You will be remembered and missed. Anything but Love was an underappreciated TV series.
I forgot about that series
A wonderful series. Always a fan of this wonderful man. Watching last of Curb, bitter sweet.
I bought the DVD from Amazon. The show is just as sweet as I remember. ❤
Rest In Peace Richard Lewis 😢💔
What? How when?
Amen 🙏
Amen! 🙏💖
Richard Lewis, you are missed. ❤ Bless you, in Glory. 💛
He just comes across as such a lovely man. He'll be greatly missed 😢
A reminder that Doc Severinson is still alive, closing on on 97.
Holy crap! Doc was born in 1927.
And Mel Brooks is 97 and Bob Newhart is 94.
I had the great pleasure of seeing Richard Lewis perform at the Valley Forge date mentioned in this video. He was amazing. I also had the honor of meeting him. Gracious, gloriously neurotic, and wonderful. I’m heartbroken. Rest in Peace, sir. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Richard Lewis was one of a small handful of people who was “appointment viewing” for me. Thank you for years of laughter, Mr. Lewis. RIP.
Miss them both. Many years of entertainment.
I'm born 98 but I love johnny carson, watch him every week. I wish he was still alive to make more
He was a great comic.❤
One of my favorites. Rest in Peace.
His self deprecating humor made him very special. He was loved by ma y. 💔💔💔
Dude was brilliant and quite a storyteller!..RIP....
My hubby and I saw him many years ago at NYC's Bottom Line and sat at the front table. He was hilarious. His legacy will be- one of the greatest stand-ups of all time. His unique brand of humor was off the charts.
Oh that big, beautiful hair! He was gorgeous!
i agree with you about his hair although as a man, i'm not prepared to say he was gorgeous. but i certainly have been moved to tears watching him on letterman and watching him here. carl weathers' death upset me similarly.
I agree what a luscious mane.
What a funny guy, can't believe he is gone.
Man we've lost a lot of great comics the last few years...Norm Macdonald, Bob Saget, Gilbert Gottfried, Bob 'Super Dave' Einstein and now Richard. RIP Richard....thanks for all the laffs.
His talk show appearances were some of my favorites. Always hilarious. RIP Richard... you were a gem o
Richard was brilliant. He was like an intellectual Rodney Dangerfield.
Richard was comedy royalty. Fact
Amazing how he took over the show. I always liked his humor. RIP.
Saw Richard snd Dennis Miller together in the late 80’s, one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. RIP Richard Lewis
"I saw"
Wonder if he’s a guest in The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Heaven edition…. Rip to all of them.
Richard was beyond funny, truly will be missed, glad we had him for so long
Rest in peace Richard. Just watched this clip and my brain got a workout but in a good way. ❤
cant believe 1990 was 34 years ago
You and me both. Feels like yesterday.
No kidding
Difficult to believe. Time does fly by.
I can't believe 1989 was 35 years ago
Pretty much outstanding self loathing classic comedy. We'll miss you Rich
Richard Lewis is an American Master. ❤ Rest in bliss, ya kooky genius, you! 🕊️
Another fabulous talent.
Always sad to see one go.
RIP Richard you've always brought huge laughs with your Neurotic humor. God Bless
🙏
Carson makes it look easy and Richard is hilarious RIP
Mr Lewis. An underrated and often misunderstood genius of a comedian. R.I.P.
RIP Mr Lewis. You got me through the 80’s.
Richard was great lol. Rest in peace buddy.
Richard was funny,
Richard was cool,
Richard was obviously,
nobody's fool. RIP
"Westbury Music Fair in New York". Growing up there and seeing countless shows and stars there I am always happy to hear it mentioned. I'm so old I remember seeing shows there when they still were a tent, not a building. 😊
How can you not love Richard Lewis... Got into Curb last month, and now on the 7th series... Everytime Richard shows up, I say "Yes" Richards here! He never disappoints.
a legend he never failed to make me laugh may he rip
I love his story telling ! He was a neurotic comedic genius and thanks for the laughs.

This one hurts 😢 RIP Mr Lewis & thanks for entertaining us
The youth is lost
This era is truly missed
So friggin true
This has been repeated over and over by every older generation 😂
A truly original comedy talent - no one else could do this kind of humor so well....RIP.
He made being a guest an artform. Such a generous brilliant guest
May his memory be a blessing
Richard, was a great man who gave to all. He will be missed.
“Who else is on?” Haha Literally burst out laughing at that. Beautiful man. RIP Richard.
Loved him on Anything But Love. Saw him live once in the later years. Took Jewish neuroticism to new heights. RIP the great Richard.
Richard Lewis is priceless. RIP brother.
What a funny man. I loved him when he and Don Rickles did "Daddy Dearist." Such a sad loss indeed.
Always loved the on and on stories
He was great in Curb
"Mr. Tangents"
Loved him and always will❤
To my fellow New Jerseyan, Richard Lewis: RIP 🙏 Curb won't be the same w/o you! 😢😞
Fro what I remember about him that was unique & so damn funny “ u r mocking me” just sheer GENIUS ❗️

"Who else is on?"
CLASSIC.
Wow! Richard was excellent. RIP comedy brother.🙏
Never saw a man so restless & moving on his seat soo randomly throughout the show before I saw Richard Lewis!!!😅...
I had no idea that Richard Lewis died! RIP
They are all gone. Thanks man
That dude was insane! You can learn comedy watching him R.I.P. Richard Lewis
Johnny always knew when to let people run. He brought out the best in everyone.
Read Richard's The Other Great Depression and it helped me more than I could imagine with my issues, never thought of therapy after that. Connected with him first time I saw him his initial appearance on Letterman. A comic genius if ever there was one.
Stand up comedy genius. RIP and join Carson, Shandling and Gottfried in Heaven.
"I say did I satisfy you and she says two wrongs don't make a right!" 😂😂😂
The guy can talk…love RL❤
What an entertaining soul. RIP Richard ❤️❤️
The last third is gold.
Memories...he brought me to tears.A really funny guy. RIP.
May his memory be a blessing. ❤
This segment is all over the place, probably due to the substances at the time, but to see Richard Lewis in his prime and so animated is great to watch. Rip Richard Lewis
🕯.
He quit substance addictions,
in 1994.
Such a funny guy - describing his never ending angst, so funny.
Three legends
This is how I remember Richard Lewis. I saw him on Carson several times.
RIP RICHARD LEWIS AND MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY AND LARRY DAVID
I love the boom mic trying to follow him around.
RIP Richard....you were awesome. Makes me feel old. Wait I am! Love Johnny too.
Richard's act was never an act. it as how he was even off camera. RIP
Love you, Richard! Will miss you forever. You ALWAYS cracked me up! Whenever you were on, I tuned in. RIP....
Saw the latest "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Tuesday so I've been worried and woke up this morning with a clear image of him with no specifics. Always reminded me of Buster Keaton and then I find out he was a huge fan of same and a friend of his wife Eleanor. So our contact was the Keaton Karass.
Love you Richard, Johnny! Thanks for uploading this Carson team!
I saw him in ‘82 at Letterman taping. RIP. ❤
RIP to one of the funniest legends to ever live. He stole the show in "Robin Hood: Men in Tights."
Johnny Carson is, and will always be, the classiest talk show host.
Wow, so grateful to have been a witness to his career & light. RIP 🙏
Hmmmm I met Ed McMahon & was friends with his son & I met Johnny & even though I was a stand up for many years sadly never met Richard, which I’m sure would’ve been an experience❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻RIP Richard🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
And Richard Lewis is gone now too
Richard: As a youth, I also competed in the "Punt, Pass and Mourn!" Gonna miss your amazing humor!
This guy cracked me up when i was a kid in the 70's on Carson, many times. And he made me laugh on Curb Your enthusiasm, all the way up to last Sunday when he argued with Larry David about his will.....Three days later, he's gone. RIP Richard
You’re missed, Richard. RIP.
As always, a Richard Lewis monologue for its' timing, delivery, and content and everything else. The sum is not even as grand as the total! It has got to be savored(and for aspiring comedians studied). What a gift we have lost! 5:15
I lived 2 towns over from Englewood for most of my life
A master of self deprecating humor RIP Richard!
Wow, its been a min since I watched Johnny.
. I’m already hating myself . 😂
I forgot how long Richard was around. HE WAS ON CARSON!!
Richard Lewis had some glorious hair back in the day. Him and Larry David hanging out back then must have been a riot.
Rocket fire jokes. Rodney and Richard, two of the best.
Fantastic
So much Woody influence when he was younger. RIP-,thanks for the laughs Richard. ❤
My god, this was fantastic! Richard Lewis was hysterical; and how about Johnny as the straight man? Both of them were one of a kind. RIP Richard, Johnny and Ed.
"Who else is on?"
RIP, Richard Lewis.
