Not entirely sure the "always on" moniker applies to Richard Lewis. I have always had the sense that we were just seeing the man, as himself, in whatever we were lucky enough to be watching him do. But, I could be wrong. I almost always am, if you were to ask my wife.

One of the funniest comics ever. And so overlooked when people talk Stand-up's. What made him so great was sometimes his jokes would hit you minutes after he delivered line!! And such great delivery. So sad to lose him.

I’m kind of sad about how Charlie Rose flamed out. He had such a good show and the interviews were not rushed the way everything is now. Old school entertainment taken out by old school sexual power and control. Oh Charlie, you should be remembered for more but the test is time, just the same.

He didn’t flame out. He was fired after eight women, over a period of 21 years complained of sexual harassment, groping, and other allegations in which he apologized for.
I always enjoyed his show, but you never know what goes on behind the scenes, and what people with power and fame will do.

They cut Sinatra off on mid sentence during some award show because he wouldn't stop yaking accepting his award. Television production is a strict time regimented thing because it's as much about the advertisement time as it is about the show itself. Carson's opening monologue segment is six minutes - that's it! Then they go to commercial. Lewis took it almost twice as long. That's big-time upheaval in a production schedule. I can understand the producer's anger since it's his job to produce the damn show. But they should have made it crystal clear to Lewis, it's six minutes, then commercial break - got it!!!
