1.) The Wrath of Khan
2.) The Voyage Home
3. First Contact
4.) The Undiscovered Country
* Galaxy Quest *
5.) The Search for Spock
6.) The Motion Picture
7.) Insurrection
8.) The Final Frontier
9.) Star Trek Beyond
10.) Star Trek Into Darkness
11.) Star Trek (2009)
12.) Generations
13.) Nemesis
So I have never watched the original series or movies except, where they find the Voyager probe.
But to my surprise, they already pulled a secret brother once. So it's very well possible he had a secret sister hahaha #StarTrekDiscovery
Edit: I liked the motion picture
24:42 hell yeah #GalaxyQuest this I can rewatch once a year.
First Contact was my introduction into Star Trek movies and I loved it!
1. "The Wrath of Khan"--not just the original theatrical cut.
2. "The Undiscovered Country"
3. "First Contact"
4. "The Search for Spock"
5. "The Voyage Home."
6. "The Motion Picture"--all three versions, including my #1 "Director's Edition"
7. "Generations"
8. "Beyond"
9. "Insurrection"
10. The 2009 movie reboot

7. Star Trek (2009)
8. Beyond
9. Nemesis
10. The Motion Picture
11. Into Darkness
12. Insurrection
13. The Final Frontier
Not bad but the Voyage home is the best no question also Insurrection is actually really good. I know people say it feels like an extended episode of next Gen but last I checked we liked next gen that's why we watched the movie. Just saying
@@startrekker6913 Very tough ranking for me. There actually isn't 1 that I dislike. Top 5 could almost be in any order for me. Same with bottom 5 really.
@@trekgate3005 Excluding the Motion Picture which although it looks good id just so boring, I also love them all there is no truly bad Star Trek film they all have there good points
Personally, I would rank all the films as follows…
15. Into Darkness
14. Nemesis
13. The Final Frontier
12. The Motion Picture (Theatrical Cut)
11. Insurrection
10. Generations
9. The Search for Spock

7. (2009)
6. Beyond
5. Galaxy Quest
4. The Voyage Home
3. The Motion Picture (Director’s Edition)
2. The Undiscovered Country
1. The Wrath of Khan
@@startrekker6913I agree, but Voyage is a toughie and I still have to place it in a close second if not a tie. Insurrection is better than it it is usually ranked.
1. The Wrath of Khan

4. The Voyage Home
3. The Motion Picture (Director’s Edition)
2. The Undiscovered Country
1. The Wrath of Khan
All these movies are way better than Disney Star Wars 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@StrawberrySoaps Star Trek the motion picture director's cut 4K is a masterpiece. Great ranking pal! Insurrection is worse than the STMP: Theatrical cut so I'd put Insurrection below it. Also, I'd take Search for Spock over ST Beyond.
Gallaxy quest is #1
1. Star Trek VI (And it's not even close)
2. Star Trek II
3. First Contact
4. Star Trek IV
5. Star Trek III
6. Motion Picture
7. Nemesis
8. Generations
9. Insurrection
10. 2009
11. Beyond
12. Star Trek V
13. Into Darkness
Great job on another great video! I have to say I completely agree with the definitive list up until Star Trek 2009. Thank you guys for always putting out such great content especially when I'm stuck at the hospital recovering. It really does help the time pass by.
I agree with the bottom and top of each list. I own 8 of the 13 movies. Star Treks 5 and 10 are a big no for me. The JJ Abrams films will never be part of my library!!!! oh yes I do love and own Galaxy Quest 😁
Star Trek 5 gets dragged through the mud, but it is the movie that focused the most on the Trinity. Kirk, Spock, and Bones were in almost every scene together.
You aren't alone on Jar Jar Abrat's movies not being in your collection. He heeds to stay away from anything with Star in the title.
@@aaronwilson4267 true but didnt you find the comedy of their interactions rather forced? And in emphasising those 3 the others were largely sacrificed by making them align with the enemy! That's not to say there arent some decent scenes in the movie, but I remember how disappointed I felt when I saw it in the cinema when it first came out, after enjoying IV so much previously. Thankfully VI was back to form.
@@PC-vg8vn
True. I think I enjoy the flaws more than most.
Galaxy Quest was a fun movie, but neither it nor The Orville should be lumped in with Star Trek films.
I personally would put First Contact and Wrath of Khan on the same level, but I know I would be in the minority there. I would definitely put First Contact above Voyage Home, and I LOVE Voyage home.
Why does First Contact tie with Wrath for me? Because the Borg are Pickard's Khan.
Oh, and you are INSANE for listing 5 as highly as you do.
agreed. i would even put Undiscovered Country above Voyage Home. it just didnt feel as epic as those three. (but it is pretty good)
Glad to see new content. You guys are the best
1. Wrath of Khan
2. First Contact
3. Undiscovered Country
4. The Voyage Home
5. Search for Spock
6. Motion Picture
7. Beyond

12. Into Darkness
13. Insurrection
"I stopped listening to you when you said you didn't like Star Trek" wow journey home was as real as you can get 😂.
I stopped listening when they counted the JJ verse
Fun video! But “The Search for Spock” got robbed! (Love the movie!) 😎
At least yall get it, Popcast! About STV, and people missing the point about family and the character dynamic meant in the movie.
1. Wrath
2. Undiscovered
3. Search for spock
4. First contact
5. Voyage home
6. 2009
7. Final frontier
8. Tmp
9. Nemesis
10. Into darkness
11. Insurrection
12. Generations (i saw you there, I saw you then... the saddest words "What might have been...")
13. Beyond. While technically a betrer film than into darkness it just ditched all believability too much for me.
Beyond is also easily my least favorite Star Trek movie and the only one I think is bad. I have watched it a couple times, thinking maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance the first time; and I probably will never watch it again. The ridiculous way the Enterprise is destroyed (everyone should be dead) and the stupid solution of playing music. It's beyond what is believable
Well done gents! Loved the video, even though I disagree with some of your rankings!
There was a time when I could rank these movies. But every Star Trek movie ever made I can easily watch and enjoy it. Even with the flaws, I still enjoy each one equally.
Top 5 for me:
1) ST VI
2) ST II
3) First Contact
4) ST III
5) ST IV
Damn, I mean ST III Search for Spock did need some editing here and there, but #7, IDK. Definitely have a relook of ST III, LT. Commander Uhuru even gets a chance to do something different here. Even though it's limited, she takes over the transporter station at the starbase and gets our crew on board the Enterprise. The Escape sequence can not be matched, in my opinion; think of it as a space opera for you when you are backing up your car out of a driveway. But it's done so much better. They should have flushed Capt. Kruge's character is out a bit better; maybe adding the part where he steals the bird of prey from the Romulans (non-cannon reference). JJ Abraham Trek doesn't come close, let alone beat out this movie, which you can still watch and be thrilled to watch it. How is ST VI towards the bottom of the list? It's one of the best send-offs I've ever seen.
You have Star Trek 6 below ST5, Generations, and 2009. Wow.
Yeah, really makes you question their judgment.
@@AZRockslide42more like making you dismiss it immediately
Coming after First Contact Insurtection was boind to disappoint but it's still a fun ride
Great video! I'm out of town on business & can't wait to get back home today.
I have into darkness at 13th place. For sure my list is different from both lists lol. With picard season 3 considered by some the final TNG finale/movie. Would be interesting to see how it would rate on the list
Personally, I would rank all the films as follows…

Star Trek VI has always been my favorite and still is!!!
I'd put any/all of the original crew movies ahread of Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis and Into Darkness. ST5 has its flaws but it's still a fun watch - and has the classic "what does God need..." line 🙂
👍Galaxy Quest always has an honoured place in Star Trek. It has earned it and easily ranked number 6 - 8. I enjoyed your latest video and it inspired me to watch again your earlier Galaxy Quest video and then the movie.
Galaxy Quest reminds me of me of my first Star Trek con when Ed Bishop of UFO had to go into make-up to look like Commander Stryker.
Funny how people will say JJ abrams isnt “real trek” or “real star wars” then they will say spaceballs or galaxy quest counts as a franchise its making fun of? Non sense. Trek is trek, the orville isnt trek. Fan made youtube videos aren’t trek. Paramount owns it, those people are theives
Nicolas Myers was considered to work on Nemesis with the TNG crew. They should have gotten him, and let him rewrite the movie. Hindsight!
One of the great things about CZcams is that occasionally you find a really interesting channel. This is one such channel. Well done. WofK was fantastic!!!
I largely agree with this ranking. Great job!
Y'all severely underrate The Undiscovered Country. Probably the greatest finish to a series ever.
First Contact is a little overrated: time travel as a gimmick when it should've been an all out war.
Search For Spock is a great movie too. Stealing the Enterprise and the entire last act are all epic.
Near Perfect list - Its almost exactly how I would have ranked the films too. i agree to its definitiveness 😁
There isn’t enough data to properly rank it, but I would be curious to see where Star Trek: The Motion Picture: The Director’s Edition (Presented in 4K) lands on the list. I think it is on par with the other films good films (if not better). The theatrical cut of the film is essentially a rough cut: Paramount would not allow the director Robert Wise to polish the film after the premiere (post production was extremely rushed) and the firsts cut was delivered the same day as the premiere) because the studio felt the press would ravage the film as a mess if it were fixed after the first showing (hurting the opening weekend box office). Now that the film is officially finished, I would saying it is a very solid picture.
Alternatively, the changes between the director’s cuts of The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country are much smaller, and like most director’s cuts the editing is not as tight, but there are more character moments, so it really depends on what the viewer wants.
Personally, I would rank TOS films as follows:
7. The Final Frontier
6. The Motion Picture (Theatrical Cut)
5. The Search for Spock
4. The Voyage Home
3. The Motion Picture (Director’s Edition)
2. The Undiscovered Country
1. The Wrath of Khan
Personally, I would rank all the films as follows…
15. Into Darkness
14. Nemesis
13. The Final Frontier
12. The Motion Picture (Theatrical Cut)
11. Insurrection
10. Generations
9. The Search for Spock
8. First Contact
7. (2009)
6. Beyond
5. Galaxy Quest
4. The Voyage Home
3. The Motion Picture (Director’s Edition)
2. The Undiscovered Country
1. The Wrath of Khan
I agree with Star Trek 2 - the best of the Star Trek films.
I love the Humour in Star Trek 5 Obviously I am pretty much alone in my thoughts and I love the fact the massive blooper of the same level going past our heroes as they shoot up the turbo lift on Spock's boots is still in the film!
Star Trek 6 is my all time Favorite.. not to mention it will always be extra special as it was my first theater Star Trek experience being so young..
Final Fronteir is also underrated
Wrath of Khan and First Contact didn't need a lot of dazzling FX to be the best
13) Final frontier (nice nap)
3) First contact (good fun)
2) Wrath of khan (best villain)
1) Undiscovered country (best overall film)
Glad to see Generations getting some love I always thought it was good and also I think 2009 is really good and I have it 3rd after Khan and First Contact🖖🏿
Galaxy Quest Number 1, I love that movie
as an extra on IV, I knew that my foreground cross in front of Nimoy would make this movie a hit.....
31:15 The movie would go on to make $97 million dollars. But your screen shows “130 million”
Adjusted for inflation…
MY Top 3 would easily be ST: Wrath of Khan, ST: Generations, and finally ST: First Contact!
At age 43, lifelong fan, went to conventions, and raising my kids on chronological release order of Star Trek, my ranking:
1. ST:TMP
2. ST:III
3. ST:V (extra nostalgia points - saw it in one of the last U.S. Cinerama theaters)
4. ST:II
5. ST:IV
6. Galaxy Quest
27. Generations (but cannot watch Kirk’s death)
28. First Contact (but this is a break from Picard’s actual character
29. Insurrection (mostly harmless)
30. ST:VI. Forces the characters to not be their original versions.
31. Nemesis. Several Trek characters are recognizable but all are in a non-Trek movie.
Not included on the list: those Bad Robot movies called “Star Trek” for some reason. I think he meant to call them “Star Trek: a JJ Star Wars Reboot Sizzle Reel”
Oh and despite also being raised on all Star Wars and Marvel stuff, my kids love ST:TMP best of the movies.
The Final Frontier is definitely the weakest of the original films, but it has a few wonderful scenes. The opening and closing with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy camping are some of the best scenes in all the films. The scene where McCoy breaks free of Syboks control is also good. There are a few others too.
Kirk: "Initiate emergency landing plan .......B".
Chekov: "What's emergency landing plan B"?
Scotty: "I don't have a clue".
Kirk: "B. As in barricade".
Scotty: "He can't be serious".
"I stopped listening to you when you said you don't like Star Trek."😂😂
I mean, who chose him to direct the movies? Could you imagine saying that at a job interview for any job?
"We want you to film Star Trek movies for us."
"I hate Star Trek. It's lame. Don't really know much about it. But sure!"
"Excellent! You're the perfect person for the job!"
???? It's hard to get more moronic than that
Enjoying the video. Great work guys.
I've mixed agreements between the viewer and your own ranking.
However I just want throw in my 10c. I think the best film is Star Trek VI, it's fantastic in nearly every way, plus on a shoestring budget at the time, still holds up today in terms of visuals.
We’re like roaches and they brought out all the Trekkies with that video lol
Insurrection is far worse than Nemesis.
Insurrection isn't as bad. It feels like a two part episode of the TV show. Just not a good one.
I love these composite ranking videos.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very nicely executed in every detail way shape and form provided on the format and subject matter on the ratings of all of these Major and wonderful Star Trek films for sure, A job very greatly well done by you guys indeed!,👌.
Pretty spot on, but I would swap 'The Voyage Home' and 'First Contact' personally.
Nice work.
There is no franchise too great for jar jar Abrams to not Waltz in and Destroy with his complete irreverence and idiocy.
I dunno. Shatner came pretty damn close.
I don’t blame JJ, its not his fault the fans all became idiots when the internet came out
JJ kelvin timeline is not bad. I mean lens flares. Hello.
I remember Jar Jar being heralded as “The Next Spielberg”.
Yeah ok 👌
Mystery Box!
At one time I would have put First Contact at #3 too, but I don't think it's aged well. I like it less each time I see it.
I didn't care much for 3 but loved seeing doctor brown as a klingon
Kirk vs Khan would have been glorious!
My top 3
3. First Contact
2. Warth of Khan
1. The Undiscovered Country
Another great ST video! But now I want to see a Popcast deep dive on "Crocodile Dundee" :D
9:57 did you just...? I'm having Tumblr flashbacks now
Wonderful music
As with the earlier made series list, yours is the better, more accurate list of what's legitimately good Star Trek.
This makes sense, because the averages from the population include people with a poor understanding of the material, a long with those with a deep understanding.
I watched this video on my phone while dropping a loaf.
Me too!
1, 2, and 3, matches my all time ST movies as well. Maybe a little more 2 than 1, but it would be very close.
1) Wrath of Khan 2)Galaxy Quest 3)Generations 4)Undiscovered Country 5)First Contact 6)The Motion Picture 7)Insurrection 8)The Voyage Home 9)Star Trek 2009 10)Nemesis 11)The Final Frontier 12)Beyond 13)Into Darkness
The Wrath of Khan is quality, But Star Trek 4 & 6 are more enjoyable & rewatchable IMO
first contact might be one of the greatest scifi movies of all time. special effects still hold up today
On my List, Galaxy would not just be an honorble mention, it would rank 2 or 3^^
For me it is TMP. I just love that late 70ies Design and feel of it.
1. WRATH OF KHAN
2. UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY
3. VOYAGE HOME
I like The Motion Picture, Wrath of Khan, and Undiscovered Country in no fixed order. Saying The Motion Picture is "slow" is like saying Alien is slow or Unforgiven.
it's slow and boring.
Great explanation of all movies!! I agree with the selections!
15:46 that's scene from Space Balls not Star Wars, lol.
My ranking:
1- Star Trek The Motion Picture (because before being a Star Trek fan I'm a long time Science Fiction fan, and I can recognize good Science Fiction when I see it).
2- The Wrath of Kahn
3- First Contact
4- The Undiscovered Country
5- Generations
6- The Search for Spock
7- ST 2009
8- Beyond
9- The Voyage Home
10- Insurrection
11- Nemesis
12- Into Darkness
13- The Final Frontier
This would be a difficult task. First, the Kelvin Universe is a completely Other take. The original cast has so much cache that I'd put all of theres on one scale and the Kelvin on another. Otherwise, for me, even though I enjoyed them, they'd be at the end of the list. Kind of the same with TOS and TNG. All TOS at the top (even 5), and TNG next. While Wrath of Kahn was better, The Motion Picture was great, as long as you take into account that ST movies were new and had a massive learning curve (how do you make something a decade after the show that ramps up to movie level? The intros of the characters was fantastic, and even the coast around Enterprise was amazing... speaking from seeing it in the theaters at the time).
1.The Wrath of Khan
2.Undiscovered Country
3.First Contact
4.ST-2009
5.The Voyage Home
6.Into Darkness
7.Beyond
8.Insurrection
9.The Search for Spock (may not be fair)
10.Generations
11Motion Picture
12.Nemesis
13. The Final Frontier (Sorry)
I honestly wasn't even interested in Star Trek as a whole, although I did appreciate and enjoy Sci-Fi, until I saw Wrath of Khan while in the Air Force in the mid '80's... Since then, I've been a huge fan!! This listing is great.
They were all *GREAT!* 👍👍
My list, 13: Star Trek Beyond, 12 Star Trek The Final Frontier, 11: Star Trek The Motion Picture, 10: Star Trek Into Darkness, 9: Star Trek Nemesis, 8: Star Trek The Search for Spock, 7 :Star Trek (2009), 6: Star Trek Generations, 5: Star Trek Insurrection, 4: Star Trek The Voyage Home, 3: Star Trek The Undiscovered Country, 2: Star Trek First Contact, and easily one of the best movies of all time, 1, Star Trek The Wrath of Khan
My ranking from best to worse is:
II: The Wrath of Khan
VI: The Undiscovered Country
IV: The Voyage Home
III: The Search for Spock
Galaxy Quest
The Motion Picture
V: The Final Frontier
First Contact
2009
Insurrection
Nemesis
Generations
Beyond
Into Darkness
1. Undiscovered Country
2. First Contact
3. Beyond
4. Galaxy Quest
The rest 😊
Your math is off slightly, gents: ST:TMP hit theatres not 18 months after Star Wars but more than 30 months (May ‘77 to Dec ‘79)
Nimoy said without Star Wars there would never have been Star Trek movies. So we can enjoy them both, for different reasons.
Pretty fair list.
1. The Wrath of Khan
2. The Voyage Home
3. Undiscovered Country
4. First Contact
5. The Search for Spock
6. Star Trek 2009
7. Insurrection
8. Nemesis
9. Beyond
10. Generations
11. The Motion Picture
12. Into Darkness
13. The Final Frontier
Seeing Wraith of Khan in a modern theatre was an experience i will never forget. The nebula battle was breath taking on the big screen. Sadly at my movie cinema Star Trek II was the only classic Star Trek movie.
It depends on the person which Star Trek movie is the best.
1 - Wrath of Khan
2 - Search for Spock
3 - Galaxy Quest
4 - Star Trek 2009
The problem i had with 5 was the acting. Everything felt over the top.
Everyone except Shatner really looked like they didn't want to be there.
What does god need with a starship?
Worst to best order:
Frontier, Picture, Beyond, Darkness, Nemesis, 2009, Generations, Khan, Country, Insurrection, Spock, Voyage, Contact.
1. Galaxy Quest
2. Wrath of Khan
3. The rest
Good. Job ❤
Star Trek Wrath of Kahn will Always be the BEST movie of the franchise
The score in the JJ movies is so good it makes the movies watchable. 09 isn't even that bad.
I agree with most of this, but I'd put Galaxy Quest dead center, and move Star Trek 6 higher. I agree with the worst ones. Depending on my mood, sometimes I rank Into Darkness at the bottom, sometimes Nemesis, and 5 is always the one after that.
1) Wrath of Khan
2) Undiscovered Country
3) Voyage Home
4) First Contact
5) Search for Spock
6) The Motion Picture
7) Star Trek 2009
8) Generations
9) Insurrection
10) Star Trek V
11) Into Darkness
12) Nemesis
13) Beyond
25:11 *Yea, it was awesome!*
Wow. I'm shocked you put Star Trek V at #6 on your list. I think I agree with the overall ranking that it's in the bottom 3.
No way. It's got some of the best character building between the main characters of any of the movies.
Definitely should be near the bottom. Kirk would never tell Spock to kill his brother.
@@spock7of961 his brother was a madman who is going to get everyone killed by freeing an evil god.
Anything good in Star Trek V is massively outweighed by the cringey and bad. Uhura's fan dance anyone? Yeesh. How about Scotty bumping his head against a beam? ho ho ho.
So many people I know have dunked on Voyage Home for decades. When First Contact was named at third, I did a bit of a fist pump because that meant Voyage Home was considered the second best ST movie ever across the board.
Generations is my favorite, followed by the Voyage Home (original crew traveling back in time to save the whales aboard a commandered Klingon bird of prey! What's not to love?)
But the Wrath of Khan saved the franchise.
So I say,
"KHAN!":)
My number 1 is Undiscovered Country, with Nemesis being above Into Darkness and Beyond. I never really liked search for Spock, so that's lower on my list below Final Frontier but above motion picture which sits near the bottom below Nemesis
The fact that Voyage Home is ranked higher than First Contact, let alone anywhere near the top, seems hard to believe.
When we discuss drugs for some reason, we always mention "LDS"...
