    Hey I’ve got this machine too, when the steam light goes off it’s best to wait for it to heat back up, at a certain point it will loose steam and inject water only into the milk

    Hello Everyone. I just got mine in the mail today and tried brewing the first espresso. Mine came out real watery and without the frothy head we come to expect with any good espresso shot.. After kinda giving up I came back into my kitchen and noticed I had water all over the counter.. I immediately unplugged the machine and took the resevoir off the back only to notice an orange rubber cover over the water intake hole.. I took that off and now it brews fine.. For the life of me I dont understand how it brewed anything at all with that cover on it. Also If you want a true espresso shot, hit the "making espresso" button right after the brew starts to turn clear..

    If I froth before I make a shot, lights flash. Steam mode (on the older machines at least) is higher and requires you to wait before you can go back to brew.

      When I finish making coffee for me and my wife I turn the machine off, unplug it and clean all the parts. Since we got the machine (the day before I posted this video) we've used it every single day for our afternoon or evening lattes!

    Hi! We usually like 4 shots when we order at a coffee shop. I’m a bit confused how to do multiple shots. Can I use the same grounds twice or a certain amount of grounds for a longer pour? I know one shot is 1 oz but I don’t want to go four oz and it be watery and not the right caffeine etc. any help would be great!

    • @wolffmanshowlings331
      @wolffmanshowlings331  Před rokem +2

      You can pull 2 shots (2oz) at a time with this machine, but then you have to empty the portafilter, give it a rinse then put in fresh espresso for your additional shots. Once you get the routine down you can pull 4 shots pretty quickly.

  • @unocarb

    You can use soy and other milks in these? Ive always only used half and half or heavy cream.. Never knew those were doable in the froth

    I find it hard to make proper microfoam with this frother to make a latte art, it gets too bubbly, especially when you pour at the end from a milk pitcher. Maybe I am doing something wrong🤔

    • @NubRusty
      @NubRusty Před rokem +4

      Proper microfoam is actually pretty difficult to do and takes a lot of practice. Even if you have a proper steam wand you can still struggle to do it right. The best advice I can give is to try to minimize the amount of large bubbles as much as possible by keeping the wand inside of the milk fairly deep.

    I really want to love this machine, but when I put water in, it leaks out of the bottom. Does yours have the orange thing under the water tank? I feel like that thing should help somehow, but I’m not sure if it’s function.

    • @wolffmanshowlings331
      @wolffmanshowlings331  Před rokem +1

      The “orange thing” you mention is not on mine now. That may have been a part of the packing that needed to be removed before using the machine. It’s been a few months since I first got my machine so I don’t recall it being there so I must have removed it. My machine does not leak at all and in I use it almost on the daily. Can you easily remove it from your tank and give it another try?

    I just got mine. The instructions say that after steam, the temperature will be too high to brew and that it takes a while for it to come down. Any thoughts on that?

    • @mgt2092
      @mgt2092 Před 24 dny +1

      Hi, I use a gevi just like this every day, and yes you have to cool it down. To try and do it quickly after steaming milk, you turn off steaming and have a container by the steam wand and set the dail to hot water and it will release a ton of steam and you will see the thermometer gauge lower down quicker. It still takes a few minutes to get back to brewing temp. Downside of the machine, you either have the espresso done first and cooling after, souring, while you heat it up and steam milk, or you steam milk and wait and wait to get it back to brew the espresso. I primarily only use mine for shots to be iced, or brewed shot on top of warmed cream in a tiny cup. And for espresso martinis. I have nice results with the machine, scale out your coffee, scale the finished results, get a better tamp and always run water through the porta before and after with the basket in it, and the wand pieces too, keep them clean and it makes decent "pressurized" "espresso"

    • @mgt2092
      @mgt2092 Před 24 dny +1

      And use a puck screen, saves a ton of mess sticking to the shower head.

  • @robertdadeckelbarger-zb7op

    Did you have to prime this machine?

  • @pad84x
    @pad84x Před rokem +2

    To me it looks like weak coffee - 2 shots from small amount of coffee. And you taste it only with milk!!!
    Also machine sounds loud!
    Will you make a coffee when family is still sleeping?

    • @wolffmanshowlings331
      @wolffmanshowlings331  Před rokem +7

      Espresso is highly concentrated coffee and those 2oz shots are the equivalent to an 8oz cup of coffee at about 126 mg of caffeine. Sometimes I just have a demitasse cup of straight espresso for a little "pick me up" after I get home from work. Espresso machines are loud because they build up pressure for the steam to aerate milk for the beverages. I don't use mine in the morning as I prefer to have black dark roast coffee from my drip brewer then. However, if I was to use it in the morning and wake my wife with the noise. She would probably run down the stairs and have me make her a cafe latte. 😁

      @pad84x Před rokem +1

      @@wolffmanshowlings331 I know, but you don't taste coffee shot, you taste a milk drink. Thanks for answer anyway.
      I watched a bunch of videos, looks like some espresso makers are built better and not so loud.

      @babyyodachelsea7034 Před rokem

      @@pad84x I agree I have the same machine and I used to be a barista. It’s not pulling shots using all of the coffee I think it has to do with the power and pressure of the machine. You can actually get machines with stronger power from this company but they’re more expensive, it’s a job done but it won’t be as good as other machines or strong

  • @chelseyelqadi1386

    Mine taste super watery. Any idea why? Using Starbucks dark roast espresso coffee.

    • @wolffmanshowlings331
      @wolffmanshowlings331  Před rokem +3

      Is the coffee ground finely for espresso and are you tamping it enough? Another thing is before you steam milk run the steam wand into an empty cup first to clear it for a moment until just steam comes out. There is always leftover water in the line which if you don't do that will go into your milk watering it down.

  • @karathomas03
    @karathomas03 Před rokem

    I accidentally threw away that black piece that’s on the steam wand I wonder if that has to do with my steam wand not working as well. Mine takes forever to steam the milk and it always end up being super foamy (which I don’t really mind) and I feel like the shots pull super super fast. Is there a way to calibrate the espresso machine?

    • @wolffmanshowlings331
      @wolffmanshowlings331  Před rokem +2

      Too much foam means you need to put the steam wand deeper into the pitcher to where it is almost touching the bottom. I also tap the pitcher on the counter after steaming which helps settle the foam. The black piece on the wand you mentioned is to allow you to move the wand around without burning your fingers.
      As far as the espresso pulling to fast you may need tamp the coffee so that its packed like a puck. Also, your coffee needs to be ground fine for espresso.
      See if that helps!

    • @paulwolffart1251
      @paulwolffart1251 Před rokem +3

      A small amount of water will come out when you first use it so I recommend catching it in a cup and discarding it before you actually steam your milk in the pitcher. After that you are good to go.

      whenever you order "extra shots" at a coffee shop, they have to reset, use new coffee grounds, and pull an entirely new shot.
