Thank you - This is not talked about enough. The problem is SO REAL - and so underestimated. Most people suffering from sleep disorders are not addressing it, and it is only now slowly becoming something you can talk about in eg. a work environment
Totally đŻ I speak both as a therapist and someone who lives with chronic illness due to burnout â€ïž
the consequences of poor sleep over extended periods are very grave
in many ways, sleep is the 'secret' cure for so many things
Bravo! Excellent words!
The problem is there's no time for naps anymore, we're too busy. That means we get only one chance a per day to get it right and it's stressful when it doesn't go right! Things that help me: early morning exercise particularly outside, only one caffeinated drink before 10am, stopping eating 3 hours before bed, carbs with or just after last meal like honey, kiwi and bananas, dim lights and screens at night, dark bedroom, fan for air flow and white noise and sleeping separately from your partner if they are a noisy sleeper which mine is! We're not only talking snoring but teeth grinding, talking AND singing in her sleep!
Agreed, all good things and suggestions there. I would add that life does seem more busy now but I think a big part of that is the amount of distractions which are time draining, Netflix, Social media, online gaming etc are all such time drains and have an addictive nature. Also the fact some people just have a tough time "switching off", they sit down for 10 seconds and are on a phone instead of being with their thoughts and unwinding.
How can I sleep well all I'm worrying about is bills and having to sell my home.
GABA calm, thank me later
You are not your thoughts, you are in control tell your mind and thoughts to chill and immeditely choose calmness and don't let your thoughts run you in a loop. Tell yourself it's sleep time and breathe deeply till sleep comes.
Sounds crazy but gotta give in only way u will sought out all your options... And havr a clear head on how to move forward with atleast one foot on the ground.
You aren't alone.
Worry is mostly a waste of good energy and good sleep, it also triggers your fight or flight response releasing adrenaline which unspent is not good for the cellular workings within your body. My suggestion would be to use that energy more constructively in finding a plan that will deliver short term and long term solutions for you. If you don't know where to turn to for advise there is free advise online or use a free service to help you achieve a plan. If that plan concludes a solution for debt settlement or banrupsy or whatever of the many debt solutions available nowadays then so be it. Your health comes first. Banks make money out of the poor Remember that. No bank will put you first. You need to put yourself first. Once you've decided on a plan and solution regardless of how daunting that may be your mind will rest. Just get professional advise before doing so. Good luck
Ive been having a problem with my sleep since I was a kid due to anxiety. I always assume Iâm not safe and now Iâm older, sadness became the no. 1 reason why I cant sleep well. I wish I can heal this issue of mine
The midnight bathroom expresso machine is a problem đ€
Yeah for sure it's getting harder to not only get the required or optimal amount of sleep or when it's possible to he able to get quality sleep for that recommended timeframe. Much harder...
Ironic that I am lay here watching this, because I canât sleep
âWar against sleep.â Of courseâŠ.stay up all night, and make Netflix rich, stay up all night, get sick and make pharma rich. These are 2 good reasons to make a bigger effort to get more sleep. Great interviewđđ»
Turn phone off by 9pm. Done.
Even if Japan's average sleep rate is 6 hours 22 minutes.
Japan has the 4 highest life expectancy so there doing something very right.
I get up gif a smoke and toilet after a few hours then go online snd an up for an hour or more before I go back to bed, the war on sleep is winning because Iâm addicted to this not so smart phone.
I canât Sleep coz of fckin CZcams đ
If your struggling to sleep just pretend to sleep then youâll drift off.
So horrifying
I rarely sleep for anything more than 6 hours. The more I get than that I feel worse. Overrated sleep ...each person is different.
I think it is a very individual thing, different people have different lengths of sleep cycle and so often having less can be better (feels better having 2 full cycles of sleep than 2.5 cycles etc). it's not all about quantity, quality is key.
What about sleeping too much
In my country it's 2:34 am đ Still I'm suffering due to not fall asleep đ„ș
Get off the device! Will help massively
CZcams will do that to you. I heard him say that they don't want you to sleep, and he mentioned also CZcams. Yesterday I couldn't sleep and I ended up being on CZcams untill 5 AM.
Put your phone away and sleep! I will do the same now although here it is only 22.11.
Good night! Sleep well!

This is not about Netflix, it's not just about first world problems đ
for 9 minutes he tells that we don't sleep enough, blaming netflix ceo. well you know what, 'horrifying reasons' headline and 9 minute ramble about the obvious is way worse than what netflix is doing. at least they describe their work honestly and deliver better content
I'm afraid you've completely missed his point.
