    I am a retired old fart that watches a lot of youtube videos and stumbled onto your channel. I was really impressed with your professionalism and have watched all your videos. My wife got interested as well. I hadn't realized how much she had learned until we watched a left coast towing company pull a truck out of the sand. She was opining that they had the wrong angle and should have blocked the wheels when trying to set the trailer back on the road. "Boy, that sure isn't the way Ron would have done it!" . Thanks Ron and we really enjoy your rescues. God Bless.

    I worked for a farmer who had a single axle Chevy dump truck that had been on its side at least once a harvest season. He told me I was the only person who ever drove that truck that hadn't laid it down. One day cutting silage we were in a field that was pretty steep and he said on the radio that today might be the day. He was using a dump wagon and he was above me with my left side to the wagon. Of course that meant that when he dumped into the truck most of the weight would be on the downhill side and it would want to tip over. I told him as soon as the load left the dump wagon to get it out of the way because I'd be turning the truck loose on a hard right turn under all the power the truck had. Turned out we had an audience of the rest of the crew who had made bets on how many times the truck would roll over. They all lost because not one of the four thought it was possible to not roll the truck.
    Take care, God bless.

    Ron, another professional job well done! Thought about you earlier when I saw a military 8-wheel, 5-ton, recovery vehicle that flipped in a ditch. No injuries, Thank God! Took 2 large wreckers to right it and get the road clear. I wanted to identify the trucks but couldn't impede traffic to see. I wondered how Ron and Midwest would have handled it. I see things in a whole new way. Some towing is predatory and malicious but you are the good side who is truly a good person and family. I got one of y'all's hats a while back and thanks to Lauren for the personal note. God Bless you and the entire Pratt family for being such good people and sharing it in these days when there is way too much negativity. Keep postin' and I'll keep watching and liking!! God Bless!!!

    Ron, i have been in the towing bizz for over 30 years, your professionalism is outstanding and you do a great job. I was always told by my teachers ( a few old timers that been in towing and recovery most of their lives) i should always grab the tow points on the frame not the axles. It"s a matter of the frame is stronger than the axles and have several points witch is designed to take the stress of the winching. as always may god bless you and yours and stay safe out there, to many drivers loose their lives to passing motorist not giving us respect and moving over and slowing down.

    • @n3glv
      @n3glv Před 6 lety +1

      Family member who was up to 31 employees and 9 trucks at one point says he will only hire farm/country boys, the "city kids" could not deal with even the slightest weirdness on a tow. The country kids would figure out a way, a chain, a 4x4, pulley, whatever to make it happen and not just get on the phone and yell for the boss to come out and help! So, Just Human, running around on hard surfaces with a rollback or a wheel lift where everything is peaches and cream is fine (city stuff), but _every_ recovery job involves thinking on your feet, understanding angles and loads etc, Ron is a consummate Professional, others might get it done faster, but nobody can question his safety measures!

    • @SteelyPaw
      @SteelyPaw Před 6 lety +2

      I was thinking the same thing, but then looking at it, I think the excavator was a "mini" and too small, but yeah i'd of tried it. If the farmer has towing insurance, then his insurance will cover all of Ron's work, so that way he does not take a change on busting it up any more than it is. I wonder why he towed it to his farm rather than to the GMC dealer? Since it had to be towed that means it needs work before it will run again. I'm not sure what happens when you put a truck on it's side, but I guess at least it needs an oil change and perhaps the fuel injectors cleaned. I'd of tried starting it lol... We need to bug Ron for more information, like what was the guy going to do with the dump truck after he got it to his barn, and does he have a friend that is a mechanic? I think if that would have been a Ford or International dump truck it would not have rolled over (joking. You brought up and interesting topic same thing was on my mind at the start of the video.

      Pete_ Hine_Of_PA he’s a farmer, he’ll fix it himself. Change oil, check fluids, pull plugs/injectors, wing engine over, put them back, off you go. It’s really not a big deal.

    Ron, your videos are excellent. Being a techno nerd I would love it if you had a video walk around of your amazing rig. For instance, what does the panel do that is in the cab?
    You have obviously done your PR work well as you get calls from the Sheriff and the state troopers. If definitely helps that you are always polite with them and keep damage down. Keep up the good work!

    Another great recovery! I also paid attention in Geometry Class, but there was no practical application for it as good as this - fulcrum points, leverage, center of mass, coefficient of friction - you've got to be aware of all those aspects.
