I just started using OpenShot and it is so difficult for me to adjust to the video not being in the slider bar area like in iMovie, it is exactly the same but the video is in a different location... small details never seemed to matter at all lol.

Wow, major nostalgia! I used to edit my videos on OpenShot back when I was using Windows. It served me extremely well, and I actually do miss using it lol-but VN Video Editor (my current video editor on my iPad laptop hybrid) is also excellent!

I just uploaded Open Shot onto my Windows 7 64 bit computer. The playback is slow and no audio. Not sure what the problem is. I have a Samsung ss hard drive and 8 ram.

Great tutorial, thanks! I recorded my video at 1080p 60fps so I chose the same profile in openshot and when exporting. But I got a 1.5GB file for a 10 minutes video. Can I export with different target options for smaller file size? Which ones would you suggest to keep good video quality? Thanks!

if you haven't fixed the issue as yet, try temporarily adjusting your profile settings for preview to a lower resolution

Any chance on shortening a timeline that was extended by dropping a long video into one of the tracks?
Let's say you drop a ten minute video and then cut several minutes off, you still have at least a ten minute (or over) timeline bar. It then becomes difficult to zoom in and out of that overextended timeline until you export the video.
Currently using the most recent version of OpenShot.

Great video & so easy to follow. I have an annoying issue with Openshot as it makes the audio crack & pop every few seconds. The video is fine when I play it with media player etc. Any ideas on how to stop this?

Great beginning video however I have a question, how do I extend a short video/audio file? Example a 30 second video to 8 hrs.
Good tutorial. Just wondering, is there's no way to use or add the cam in the computer?
At 4:53 I'm following along and trying to do what you're doing. I've got Open Shot open on the other screen. But it's not working at all. My cursor doesn't change to a two arrows like you say. It's not a four arrow shape like you're showing, it's a hand.
How do you change it so can do those things you're saying???
Later on at 7:41 you show a right click menu with 'slice' in it.
But when I do it on my computer, there's no 'slice' option in the list.
So frustrating.
This is meant to be a beginners video but you don't show how to get to those functions you're talking about.
Can somebody help me i downloaded open shot recently but when i open a vid or photo or anything it just shows a link so i can't add it to the timeline

Very Nice Thank You - I work horses - done a couple videos adding sound titles text (even a logo within the video) all good. BUT making a SLIDESHOW video out of say 30-40 .JPG pics proves to be more problematic when trying to add/edit a in the middle or beginning of the timeline. I've gone back and organized the pics in the import folder then imported (adding fades in/out) which helps but working with so many individual clips is heavy, any ideas would be appreciated, Thank You

Hi! I'm a total beginner and just about to start my youtube channel. I love your step by step instructions, it's really easy to follow, thanks! But I've got a problem; I can insert the video (from my Samsung s23) but I cannot bring the sound. The video with sounds works on my phone, and I can see the waves of it in the program, but I can't hear it. Do I have to do something special with the film before I can bring it into the program? Hi hope u r fine I install 2.6.1 openshot but when u open a vedio in it ..vedio pay very slow whats issue. But 2.5.1 is working ... plz solve it
Is there a way to drop a clip in the middle of timeline without erasing what's already there? In other words, adding something to the timeline so that everything after the new video just moves over to the right. Is that clear?
If you overlay the B roll in track 2 as you did, what does that look like in the finished video? Why did you not have to make space between the footages in track 1 to fit in the B roll footage of track 2 in between? Does it show both footages on top of each other and if so, why would you want that?
I didn’t need to make space on the bottom layer as I was using it to overlay the footage on the bottom layer. This way you would still hear the audio from the bottom layer (what i;m saying) but be seeing the overlay footage

My exports look all blurry,onh264 itexlorts just sound no picture but on h265 there sound and picture but laggy , on mpeg4 is blurry again , I'm converting to 2k 1440p ,
