One thing Lucid's taught me is that there's a time and place for the Heatwave's horizontal mode. It's best used when their shields are down and the max damage from vertical mode doesn't matter anymore. It's a good confirm for when you need the kill
i see him pop it for 2v1s so h can hit 2 at the same time ...he pops out fires twice and leaves lets his team clean them ...its so dirty

17:13 - I do this whole sequence a lot, and sometimes my teammates will start yelling "What are you doing? Run the flag! God you don't know how to play" lol. It's actually quite funny

The timing these guys have instant melee right after the shots go off , aim at body with heatwave for he beat chance to knock shield and then quick flick to the head with br love watching someone like lucid show us how to utilize these power weapons.
This is some high quality content. Love that you replay the clips that youre referring to over the paused video. Allows for you to explain without the worry that youre explaining at the right moment and without really having to stop and go back at all making the entire video seem so seamless and allows us to see exactly what your talking about. Along with your obvious extensive game knowledge makes for a fantastic vid. Great job!

@@LowResolve I think you're underestimating what this forge (which is mind blowing) is going to do to this game. Then, if they have a success Battle Royale launch in a year or so, there's still a good chance it does well. Nothing guaranteed, but it's not dead, yet.
@@gncwithnoah742 It's hard to come back from a dead player base. Only seen a few games do it, one being Final Fantasy XIV and it's awful launch.
@@LowResolve I don't disagree, it's going to be tough, but after seeing this forge it's something out of this world. It's unfortunate that a custom games browser won't launch simultaneously, but at least there's a chance that the game is salvaged. Hopefully they can add themselves to that small list.
That 360 jump after killing formal and scooping the sniper! He swaps back to the BR, checks the doorway for bottom mid as he swings around @ the 10:00 mark. Deliberately spun that direction to get the peek. Small, but huge when compounded together with all the information he’s processing.

I hadn't played since Halo 3 and your videos are what got me interested in playing again. I really do think this is the most technical FPS and I love that they have these almost "secret" techniques with the in game physics that you can utilize. So cool. preciate ya
20:40 regarding red bar mechanic, if you look at season 2 patch notes, 343 removed the red bar mechanic so melees consistently do the same amount of damage

That mangler kill bottom mid on recharge would still be possible post patch because the player had taken some damage before hand💀 mangler is still busted. Also, what’s the best way to send you halo clips? I’ve discovered a new jump that’s more cool than practical that I’d like to let you know about.

Around 18:50 he has 3 snipes left, shoots 1, the ammo goes down to zero, then 3 seconds later adds a +2 already loaded lol
This was next level by Lucid. He actually had two snipers in his load out(one that he picked up at S7 spawn and one that was laying on the ground. So when he ran out of ammo he switched to the other sniper.

Honestly I haven't been keeping up much with the Halo comp scene. On and off now since Halo infinite, before that I hadn't watched since the Halo 3 MLG days.
I have to say I really like your style of video. Very good breakdowns, and very well supported by the clips of movement examples you add in from custom games to have a visual of what you talk about. (example being the curb slide on live fire about 12,5 minutes into the video)
Have you broken down the ~17 minute best of 5 game they played recently-ish? The recent OpTic/FaZe matchups have been incredible but sometimes it's fun to look at an absolute stomping of a series.
Can you possibly do a video to bring attention to the differences between KBM and Controller, whether it’s hit registration, aiming, movement, etc? I’ve noticed a lot of differences. For instance, when re-zooming in on KBM it’s much slower than on controller. Another one is sniping on KBM doesn’t register players hit boxes until it’s completely filled. It would be super interesting to see what you’re able to find out. If you need clips for kbm, I have quite a few.
Controllers also don't require tracking. You can strafe back and forth, and the aim assist will take care of it completely. Controller players rarely miss a shot no matter how you dodge. A feat that's biologically impossible for many of the guns without aim assist. This massively buffs weapons like BR, AR, Pistol, Commando. And is the main source of the higher accuracy for controller plays.
Its not things like the sniper or skewer. Its the complete lack of requirement to track aim on console.

See some suggestions in the comments, here's mine- should do a video explaining why drift is advantageous. I hate that it is, but it's good to know and I think a lot of players still don't.

Surprised Halo content creators haven’t gone bankrupt considering 343 Industries absolutely plummeted the population.
@20:34 - This "damage advantage" mechanic was removed in an update in early May. Now if both are weak enough to die, you will always trade. Previously, as you allude to, whoever had less health would die. The old system rewarded doing more damage prior to melee, while the new system is more logical, less confusing, and less infuriating.
About red bar, since this game's been out for a year and these bugs have not been adressed, why not make a video where you detail all the bugs and glitches that have carried over from Halo 5? It would be very interesting in my opinion.
Redbar wasn't a glitch, it was changed though.

great vid.. love lucid... but frustrating to see shots register on lan when the reticle is nearly half a Spartan's body length (3ft) away from the spartan when the shot is fired.
Depends what projectile is being fired. Some travel faster than others so you have to lead a moving target like shooting at a moving target in real life
Note that even on lan all footage is taken from the games spectator mode. Unfortunately we’ll never get a perfect look at shot registration unless they’re manually capturing all the POV’s (far as I’m aware)

I sorta just listened to myself a lot as I made content/commentated - thought about how I wanted to sound, over time it sort of just changed subconsciously. There was never like a specific technique/activity I did, so not really sure lol

18:25 doesn't he also somehow reduce half the sniper reload animation? I didn't see that last mag slam we usually see before ammo changes. Probably a swap glitch, but it's fair game, and just in time to hit that shot, absolutely insane
Yes, he cuts the reload by switching weapons (it does look a little faster than usual, could be a theatre bug) - but note that in Halo Infinite this does not save you time when firing the next shot - lucid likely does this off habit (it used to provide an advantage in other Halo games). @@Shyway ahh this makes more sense. Old habits die hard, I constantly swap as I scout around just to be ready for either range, I didn't even notice I did it until you pointed out why you do it yourself 😅
@@Shyway this also gives me an random idea: Reload cancels could be more forgiving or more beneficial when cloaked as opposed to when not. Gives me Assassins Creed vibes lol

Hope they go back to spectating with the teams colors instead of just red and blue like at 15:08. It always looks goofy when Faze is playing a team like Cloud 9 and Faze's stats are in Blue and C9 in red.

So, Lucid is playing more chess than an FPS. I am will probably get some shit for this, but I kind of have a soft spot Pznguin. As a huge Halo fan, Pznguin made quite an impression when he got most, if not all, of the trivia questions they showed on the breaks in the tournaments. Is Penguin just a typical pro player, or is there something he does exceptionally well that I am noticing (but not really because I suck)?
Are you thinking of Barcode? I remember Barcode nailing nearly all of the questions in the HCS lore questionnaire.

I would love to see you do a similar video because you are much more skilled at the game than Sean W and I feel you could have some great conversation with lucid and really pick his brain for some great advice. Sean W kind of asked some basic questions and made alot of basic mistakes in his gameplay. You would absolutely kill it man please consider it😎

Over 99% of players have left since the launch of Halo Infinite. How have you not lost all funding / gone bankrupt at this point? You can’t make a living off Halo these days, unfortunately.

problem with infinite - soooo many campers just waiting for someone to walk around - many games are ruined , boring - even good casual play teams - come out strong, then get resistance, then start camping.

Understand where you’re coming from, and clearly my statements on the matter have not helped. All I’ll say for now is the accusations are false, assumptions about me from one side of a story - neither 343 nor my accusers have given me any information on this situation or opportunity to share my side privately. I don’t want to create more drama and negativity, so at the very least I’m trying to lay off speaking on this till after worlds - but if you need more transparency next week and beyond come by my stream and ask me about it, happy to talk.
Even watching the best players in the world halo is still unwatchable for me
