I have nearly 3000 games played on Halo infinite, I've been playing on and off since release. Every time I see stuff like this I just think to myself "wow, the pros are being babies again." Look, I know Halo competitive is fun, I play ranked too, but it's FAR from the entire scope of the game. Heck, It's only like 40% of multiplayer traffic. Look at the most populated playlists and ask yourself "Is what I want best for Halo? Or for me?" and you'll find out how selfish and childish the "G.A" thing really is. I'm only twenty, Halo is older than I am, but I've been playing it since I was five years old. I have a deep love and respect for this series. Both the highs and the lows. So I'm gonna talk from experience and say IGNORE the pros. At least on this once. They make up a very small section of the player base and the last time pros were involved in gameplay decisions we got Halo 5...... The Bulldog is a VERY fun weapon with great ease of use. Perfect for new players to pickup and understand due to its simple power. It's the casual player's wet dream. It's design is simple yet cool with good sound design. It's strong, but shotguns are SUPPOSED to be strong. I wont go on a massive tangent here, but in WWII the Germans wanted the trench gun (A shotgun named the Winchester) Banned from warfare due to it's effectiveness. Did that stop the allies from using it? Of course not! Because it was effective. I hope my comparison allows you to understand why "G.A.s" are both dumb, and harmful to Halo as a whole. It alienates casual players (Ya know? The dominant side of the player base?) and promotes elitism. Gatekeeping is only harmful to Halo. This comparison applies to all the guns listed by the way. Getting rid of easy to use weapons will make casual players upset, and what happens when that casual gets upset? THEY LEAVE!!! They stop playing because there are other FPS games to play. I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick of waiting 3 minutes to find a quick play game. Often far more time at night. Less population leads to long wait times, which leads to even less population because people are impatient, which leads to even less population..... You get the point. I hope I don't come off as too antagonistic, I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just wish to have Halo back the way it was. People having fun, driving tanks and flying hornets and falcons. Getting multi-kills with gravity hammers and plasma grenades. Popping off with snipers and dropping thirty. ALL IN THE SAME GAME. I miss those days, and those days are when Halo was popular. So maybe use them as a reference instead.

I get not picking this stuff up in tournies but GAs in matchmaking are cringe. Only thing I ever GA'd in Halo MM was the H2 plasma pistol and that was only if the other team didn't touch it.

There is probably another factor to consider besides the following: - skill to use / difficulty to use - sandbox diversity / abundance of options - spectator entertainment value I would argue a large misunderstood consideration is the business side of things around esports, which is more or less a hybrid of marketing & game experience that sells entertainment and influence. Specifically this business model & industries revolves around people. This is why the populations of esports competitors and esports spectators are the main facets and considerations for financial investment that determines whether esports will create cash flow and generate income streams. The key to making esports business viable is to grow both core channels for competitors & spectators that creates generous flows of income that fund the prizes from event sales & followings from social media (and other systems of marketing that can be leverage influence to promote products/services). In-order to have marketable content however requires some level of control for managing the "stories" and the content rating in-order to reach more people and organisations that can in-turn create new growth in the form of new competitors, spectators and partnerships etc. This ideology however of "Business First" is ironically against what esports wants, however in-order for sustainability esports needs to sacrifice on being "truest skill" and instead should aim to be "equitable skill" that is accessible and fun (ie entertainment) but also host dynamics that create high potential for skill expression and execution through commitment and experience. Sometimes fun and entertainment is what motivates people to play, sometimes it's winning, sometimes it's socialising... managing human behaviour and motivation that drives a love for the esport is what will make it sustainability. "You never stop loving it, you just outgrow the ability to compete".

The moment you talked about going against a GA and tarnishing reputation for money is the same as "branding" and "capital" in business. To me "social wealth" (ie branding, status, reputation, trust, goodwill etc.) actually leads to more long-term profits via new opportunities and partnerships than any financial wealth (ie money) ever does. It is easy to see the short-term benefit of money, but not understand the long-term cost. Esports is 150% a social enterprise and if you destroy your brand/reputation/trust/goodwill etc. you no longer will be getting access to new opportunities for money anyway.

I think the issue with the GA is these weapons are too available. Treat them like power weapons. Eg. 1 on the map.

I got an xbox series s mostly in order to play halo again with halo infinite, and i think we all know how infinite was on release. ive concluded - it wasnt halo i missed, it was bungie. After months of infinite, I got pulled away for another game and never went back. Im looking forward to bungie releasing marathon.

Man I love halo. But in my opinion: I just want it to feel good again. Halo infinite has done some things right. Movement is awesome. Guns and gunplay either need tweeeked or just re-worked. I also miss some of the classic weapons. I think what I am trying to say the gunplay to me doesn’t feel like what I think halo should feel like.

A dude after my own Quaking heart! 👊 The reasons why games turn into shit is because of money. And underlying reason for why money is turning games into shit is greed. One thing I have noticed is less common or even completely gone is people's mindset on why things are the way they are. Nowadays very few people believe in what is and always have been true in commerce and businesses; the customer votes and reviews with their wallets. If no one buys shit, shit ceases to exist. Sure they they will try someone else but if you keep that mentality that: WHAT YOU DO MATTERS? Instead of the egotistical "How much can I've person change anything, I'll buy p2w mtx and preorder broken shit all day if I wanna." then tons WILL change. It has to. But very few follow that rule, or only do publicly. Everything you see in all industries is tge result of a tug of war between manufacturer and consumer. Testing boundaries, what lines you can cross, and so on. Essentially how much will the consumer allow themselves to be fucked over. As gaming is the new golden egg laying goose in town what is acceptable and tolerable is constantly being tested. During my 30 years in gaming I have seen people go from getting the products they want by being vocal and not letting any developer off when the waters were tested. To people nonstop complaining that games are constantly deteriorating on all levels, content, bugs, platform features cut, trailer lies, etc etc all the while studios have never been wealthier or had more employees. And then the very same people preorder everything, never voice their opinions nor give any constructive feedback, never refund anything, never tell their kids "no, you can't fucking have that mtx skin just because Chad in school has it". Cause and effect, uhh dohy? Lately games have had 30 fps locks, zero updates on some platforms, beyond broken at release, content withheld and sold as dlc at launch, etc and people in large are fine with it? I swear, we'll be in a non ironic Idiocracy reality before long. ~No one can do everything, but everyone can do something~

GA is a horrible decision and it ruins whatever chance halo might have at pulling in a streaming audience. Noob Combo/H2 Sword both way OP compared to anything in infinite, never saw final boss or carbon GA those weapons.....

They need to go back to great single player campaigns day one not years later ! With added online not the other way around.

When all I hear is negativity and complaining about the game and it seems like the franchise is going down the toilet, you always come in clutch and remind me to focus on the good.

More new comp maps( idc if they’re forge ones at this point) and more pickups like grapple repulser let the pros make use of what we got in this game to make some sick plays!

I just want Halo CE's gameplay back... There is literally nothing like it and MCC's version was bad because of the composer and matchmaking and now because of hackers I can't even play that.
