This documentation is only for the following devices.

These are the codenames and you can find the P numbers in the about
this software , in the settings of your Samsung Tablet.
If you are still on the old original Samsung Software
then you need to first install a custom recovery.
Doing so , turn off tablet ,. start it in to Downloadmode
(press Vol Down and Power together and when you see Download mode
select vol Up to confirm .
Make sure you have a Windows Pc with the Samsung USB drivers installed
and a Tool called ODIN , find ODIN 3.1.1
Now download TWRP file for your model , HIT PDA in ODIN browse for the
file select it a press Start.

The common TWRP is compatible with GT-P3100, GT-P3110, GT-P3113,
GT-P5100, GT-P5110 and GT-P5113 at the same time.

Note: The new "Common TWRP" won't be able to flash Roms compiled
before 22.03.2016. For Roms compiled since 24.09.2016 it's recommend
to use TWRP 3.0.2-6 or newer.
Device specific TWRP for Galaxy Tab2 (discontinued, but they should
still work to flash latest Roms): GT-P3100, GT-P3110 / GT-P3113,

TWRP will now be installed -
At the reboot be quick and press POWER + VOL UP and when you see the logo
let go of both buttons and if all went right TWRP will be installed..
Well Done.
Now Wipe a normal Wipe , and select LIneage OS for Espresso WIFI or
Espresso 3G depending on your model number.
Secondly flash the CAR PC Chameleon MOD
FLASH Magisk 16 for ROOT , (Optional)
Reboot and go set up your one of a kind Tablet

Thanks from Russia, but I had errors with LineageOS last version and I downloaded and installed early version from 2019.04.05-1859 and it worked. Like it! : ) And off LiveDisplay in Display Settings, it slows down the device.

It's actually press Vol UP^ and Power together to enter download mode. Just thought I'd make you aware of the typo. I spent 30 minutes trying to get into download mode ;)

@@channel48 EDIT: I finally got TWRP to take. My model is the GT-P5113 Wi-Fi version. As Puck said in his reply, the button sequence is the opposite of the 5100. Vol UP^ and Power together to enter download mode, then connect to PC (for Odin) and after TWRP flash: Vol DOWN and Power together to enter TWRP. I found it easier to UN-check the auto reboot box in Odin so I had time to switch button positions without it rebooting. Just thought this might help someone else with the same model :) Thanks so much channel48 for taking the time to post this video!

@@jslvme6306 Hello, The files are the same as what is shown in channel48's video. I followed his steps. Only difference is the button sequence to enter download mode on the tablet. It took me a long while..to figure it all out and get it right but if you follow his advice to the letter it works :)

Hi I am struggling to do this upgrade on my tablet P5100.
1. When i download the files as suggested, do i need to save them on my computer or on the tablet itself.
2. Nothing happens when I tap on build number. (I saw on the video it shows like a dos file running below)
3. Developer options does not give option for reboot to turn on and i do not have the ROOT access under this.

MAY 6, 2020- Perhaps you can help me sir. I have an SGH-i497 that looks exactly like that. When I put in sleep mode, it shuts down power off after 5-10minutes. I would appreciate step-by-step instructions. I have Odin on my PC; all the necessary Samsung drivers; TWRP on the Galaxy Tab from the Playstore; 14.1 espresso zip file on PC copied to the Galaxy Tab. I’m normally good at following instructions and quite PC literate but feel I’ve maybe missed out something in the process.
Managed to eventually get it upgraded. How do I get Google Play apps to work? Is there a patch? I’ve tried to download the CZcams app and another one but they both say they’re not compatible.

I have installed Cyranogenmod 13, when I go into recovery, I don't see that menu. I only see reboot system now, apply update, factory reset and advanced. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong. In the past, I did have a TWRP previously installed.

Hello Puck, I have kept my samsung tab 2 alive for years thanks to ur tutorials, THANK YOU. I have marshmallow 6.0.1 through lineageOS 13 and it is stable. Is nougat 7.1.2 stable enough and overall better? I just found this video and since many months have passed I supose u had enough time to test it. I wanna upgrade for the improved battery life in android 7, do u think it is worth it?
well secret - I baked new roms but on Los 13 just because it's lite and more tweaked for this device - I made a WTab ( windroid) modeled rom - testing micro g as well - after next upload i will present the roms 😊🍀

All right I will be on the lookout for ur upcoming videos. I saw a repair shop in Latin America use ur tutorials to give a second life to a phone last year :D its great for them even though they kind follow it now fully understanding english. So u are kind of making the world a better place by helping people keep using their devices instead of getting new ones and consuming more resources :D

ok there is your problem / see it this wsy - we drive in a Mercedes with Opel engine - and that works fine . you can drive even pick up friends but don't put a caravan behind it - that will be to much for the opel engine with SLC Body 😉 - what you should do? Reinstall yhe rom or install my modded version and enjoy it to watch video listen radio music - no using of your important accounts without 2 step verification - no Facebook app - use via the browser etc - no gapps !!'

Hi, I'm doing some thing wrong, I can't even get TWRP to come up on my GT-P5113 Tablet. I downloaded Odin3_v3.11.1, Gapp, P3110, P3113, P5110, P5113 Folder, TWRP-2.8.6.1-i9300, espresso-common_TWRP_3.0.2-6..... I open Odin3, plug in USB from Tablet, port turns blue shows connected. I check on Odin3, AP box, windows opens...grabs only .tar files, so I can only select TWRP-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar file, then I clicked Odin3, Start button....it downloaded the file all was well did it 3 times and still can't get TWRP to open on reboot.....? Please help...James....
It’s tricky after flash at reboot be quick with vol up and power if system reboots in system recovery is beung replaced for original - so practice the steps

ODIN only seems to recognize my P5113 when it's booted up. When I put it into download mode, ODIN doesn't see it. Is it possible for me to put the software on an SD card and load the software that way? If so, how should I go about doing it?
First find Samsung usb drivers install them reboot pc and now odin will find your tablet

Hi, can you please make me a huge favour and tell me why i can't connect my tab with usb to the computer? I' ve tried installing the drivers, I've bought a new usb connector, opened the tab and replaced the port with a new one in the tab. I've checked out if windows 10 was the problem and I've used an older version, ubuntu. I put the tab in developer mode and usb debugging. Still nothing.

I also use Philz Touch 6.59.2 recovery. I like TWRP though I use that one on my Note 4. Debating on using TWRP on my P5110 cause I've been using Philz Touch since 2014.

Hello, channel48 I have started upgrading and just downloaded to my espresso3g p5100 the TWRP-3.3.0-0-espresso3g.img and it works like a charm.
My problem is that i did not paid any attention at your advise. So having still on the old original Samsung Software I did not install a custom recovery first.
Now i am stucked as i can not find a custom recovery to uninstall the twrp with odin and proceed. Have you any link for the recovery.tar ? Greetings from Greece...
Twrp is the custom recovery - now you need a rom to flash in twrp - uninstall means back to Samsung old rom

Thank you for your kind response, I did see that last video but I was finally able to get the Omni 6 installed correctly, and since it worked well I gave up trying, the customer was happy and for me a search of almost a week to solve this problem was over. (I will never be able to collect what this job cost me, but the good thing is that I have added a knowledge that I did not have thanks to you!)
@@channel48 Now I have another problem, the same client brought me another Note pad 10.2, and I thought: ahh this is easy !! but it does not turn out that although it is identical to the 5110, it turns out that it is a GT-N8013 !!!!! And I can't get either the TWRP or the ROM to update it, so that's another headache.

Alleen is hij traag, want hij draait op Android 4.2.2 en youtube filmpjes lopen ook niet zo lekker. Geldt jouw uitleg nog steeds en waar haal ik de roms vandaan? Hee mi brada fafi - het is en blijft een oude tablet daarom maak ik lichte versies .. ma ie gelukku heb net een mooie android 6 rom met alles erop en eraan .. als je voorbeeld wil zien abbo ff met bel notification aan want later vandaag post ik rom voor t113/116 en espressowifi - begin met twrp installeren je heb windows pc met odin en damsung usb drivers installed dan volg me upgrade process in download mode en daarna recovery is makkelijk

Hi mate. great job for upgrade, I have successfully updated the tab p5100. I have wiped everything and reset all original firmware. Access to recovery mode is all time in TEAMWIN (TWRP flash) ... Please how to do reverse way? I mean how to go back to original firm and re-install android 4.2.2 ?
same was go to samfw.com and download file - unpack it and open odin select AP and select it while tablet is in download mode - but why would you - I made new modeled Rom fully in style of windows tablet but of course android

I had put my tablet (GT-P5110) into downloadmode > connected with odin3 (v3.11) > checked the "AP-button" > selected the downloaded "twrp311-2011009_v2_p4wifi.tar.md5" > unchecked "auto-reboot" > pressed "start-button". Then I got in the left uppercorner the red message "FAIL!" and now I get on the tablet "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Now I cannot switch the tablet off anymore, whatever I do the message comes back everytime. Can you help me?
Yea no worries about it go back in download mode flash right twrp go back and look good - then flash again and be on time to go into recovery

Turn off - then hold vol down and power - keep holding until you see download mode hit vol up and your in the actual dl mode
@@channel48 I cannot turn the tablet off anymore. This is what I do:
Push and hold the power-button and after 8 sec. I'll get a dark screen (the tablet seems to be off). I release the power button and after 3 sec. the message appears again. So the tablet isn't off.
I have also tried to hold the power button for 1 min. , but then the message comes on the screen en dissapears after 5 sec. and appears again after 3 sec. and this goes on and on.

Since I installed twrp my tablet won't charge anymore and it won't turn on either what should I do?
Leave it for 10 make min to charge then press power down and volume until it reboots
