As a completely non-techy person, I still managed to follow this brilliantly helpful tutorial and have now given my old Samsung Tab 2 a lease of life, from the drawer it had been languishing in for years. Zoom is now installed and we have another device for staying in touch during lockdown. Thanks, M1LO!

Just a message for everyone especially those who are upgrading from stock rom, I forgot to mention(have been updated now in the description), you need to ROOT your device first and make sure you verify the root status to be successful.
Also make sure to uncheck the auto reboot option in Odin when installing TWRP.
Links are in the video description, and as always, thank you for coming here and those who reached out to me as well.

@Sef there is a rom for note 9, in the official Lineage os page (download.lineageos.org/crownlte), however the files for TWRP and rooting your device is a bit complicated for note 9 as for the time being. if you want you can have a read here (forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/guide-root-note-9-magisk-android-10-q-t4039783). General steps would be somewhat similar is all I can say, and I personally wouldn't recommend installing as of right now, because for andriod 9, roms are nightly build, and just wait for couple weeks-months to get things get more stable.

For all who do not see the TWRP recovery.
Go back to the Odin step:
    1. Turn off tablet
    2. Enter download mode
    3. Switch on Odin
    4. GO TO OPTIONS and TURN OFF "AUTO REBOOT"
    5. Click the AP button as in the video
    6. After getting "PASS" hold down POWER BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN until the tablet shuts down
    7. Directly enter recovery mode (Power button + volume down, then release power button, as shown in video)
    8. Custom recovery!

Did it on a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (p3113) and ended up having to start at CM11 and walk up, and I still only got to CM13. Also had to download a different version of TWRP because for some reason I couldn't get the linked version to flash, even though Odin said it was, and then had to go in and edit one of the zips because it wasn't recognizing my device even though it was listed as a compatible version. All that said, thank you for helping me bring life to an otherwise e-waste tablet that has been sitting in my drawer for 3 years doing nothing. Here's to hoping it's good as an Android Auto and OBD2 command center.

Thanks for the nice Tutorial! It worked very well for my Samsung Galaxy tab 2. After flashing TWRP with Odin you shouldn't start your device again.
Why did you download more files than needed?
For people who are wondering why TWRP looks different:
Boot directly into TWRP - else it will be overwritten.
I had to choose GApps-nano because mini was somehow too big.

Thanks for the video, very clear and concise. I still have a probleme tho :,D and i hope one can help me :
It didn't show the TW reboot screen like you but instead the default android reboot screen.
I figured it probably came from the odin step since it didn't show the same booting logo as yours.
I did everything as you said but I thought it might be because i didnt enable OEM unlock (for the rooting) in the settings. But i just get it to be shown in the option.
Maybe it's because my tab isnt in its latest available update, but the trick is that i can't update it because it now says that my device is modified so it can't be updated (bc of the root?).
Seems a bit like i soft lock to me lol, any idea is welcome.

Can't get to developer? Setting>About>Tab Build Number 6-8 times.
Can't get to TWRP boot/recovery screen but flash was successful? Just restart tablet and load in the lineage and opengapps files into it first (anywhere) or an SD card. Then you going to flash the TWRP again via Odin. When the odin autoreboot the tablet, immediately unplug cable AFTER you see ALL THREADS COMPLETED and hold volume down and power RIGHT AWAY. Do it FAST!. You may see a black screen after the loading logo after you release but wait a minute or two, it will work.
Can't load OpenGapps and getting Error70? Just google "Fix Updater Process Error 70" and follow that process by Droid Hunter.
