  • No steering wheel control adapter? No problem, here I tech you how to get your original steering wheel controls working on your shiny new stereo system without paying thoa costly prices for an adapter to make it all work, the model I'm using is a Ford focus mk1 (2004) but I imagine trying a combination it should all work the same way no matter what car or stereo your using, in this video I'm using a pumpkin stereo from amazon and I didn't want to pay the hefty price for a new box to sit in the back just to turn my volume up and down from the steering wheel. Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching

    Hi man, so ground we taking from main connector right and using one of the cable(key 1 or key 2) to connect to OEM swc input. But in which case we gonna use both of the cables? My car has total 6 buttons 3 on each side of the steering wheel. In this case should I connect key 1 and key 2 to the same input?

    How does one find these wires? Im trying to get wires ready in my 04 Cadillac SRX for a double din swap and i DIY'd the rest of the wiring, im not stoping now, i have only 1 steering wheel control wire coming to the factory unit, would there be a 2nd one i need to tap into or would the wire on the stereo harness itself work for me at all? Any information is helpful, this car has been a nightmare

    I was so excited to do this! But I realized that I might short circuit a lot of things in the car. Possibly the whole electrical system can be fried. Can anyone reassure me that it won’t so I can proceed with my Toyota Tacoma 2011 base.

    • @jonathandale5350
      @jonathandale5350  Před 2 lety

      This will not fry anything In Your car all you are doing by doing this is bypassing the need for an expensive plug, think of it this way, if it blows then the worst thing to happen is a blown fuse, just disconnect it and replace the fuse :)

      It's both radio and vehicle model specific. More modern cars have the controls going through the CAN bus, for those a module and custom harness will be required.
