Sometimes I think Dara is like the teacher trying to handle a classroom that's gone berserk đ
"Sometimes"? That's almost every episode!!
@@mathesonkamin6067 and dara is technically a teacher!
WTF???
Check out the David Blunkett episode...
As does he, I imagine
I'd completely forgotten about Monsoon Poultry Hospital đđ What a throwback
DesertGremlin The reboot is coming. Stay Tuned.
"Easily the best chicken hospital film of the year" kills me
2:50 "You've killed Frankie." Milton looks so pleased with himself.
More-or-less true. The first episode where Milton appeared was the first episode where Frankie didnât.
I can't imagine that the two of them would have gotten on very well.
@@davidwolfhudson probably because Frankie is actually funny and Milton not so much
@@jonniepotter1194 I am definitely a fan of Frankie, much more so than Milton (though I sometimes find him amusing) but I know that comedy is a very personal thing so different strokes and all of that... I was considering that Frankie is atheist bordering (?) on antitheist whereas Milton is a born-again... I could imagine Milton being offended by some of Frankie's material and Frankie... not giving a fuck.
@@davidwolfhudson well said
The best part of this show is getting to see all six of the British comedians who aren't on Cats Does Countdown.
Well Andy Parsons and Mark Watson havenât been on anything at all for about 10 years đ
@@hillsjason1 Taskmaster is the most recent thing I've seen him in.
Correction *was*
I wish I could love a comment!
That's because mock the week isn't anywhere near as funny
"I've no doubt you'd discharge yourself straight away" đđ đđ€Ł
Seeing David Mitchell on these early shows really feels weird nowadays. Even though I thought most of the non-standup-rounds suited him quite well. I will never forget the 'If this is the answer...' round where the answer given was: "Between 20 and 25" or something like that and David suggested "Is this where the mailman is most likely to deposit the mail for No 27?" For some reason that gave me immense joy at the time.
Thank you very much for uploading this!
Frankie still the king of mock the week
I always forget that the long running sausage joke started because of a heckler
It's only on watching this particular video that I've realised Dara isn't actually employed to advertise the Megabus. I always assumed that because people always take the piss out of him for it, his image is actually on the back of all Megabusses.
Dara is the best babysitter ever.
hahaha
The sausage in a yellow hat is one of my favourite moments đ€Ł
Frankie was great to have with the show
7:33 caught me off guard đ
Oh lord-I finally understand why the panelists are forever referencing Dara on the mega bus-in America, we have giant wraps on the buses of celebrities and for years I just thought Mock the Week was a sponsor of mega bus and they used Daraâs picture. đ€Ł
You should have included the point where Hugh Dennis introduces "Monsoon Poultry Hospital" a few weeks previously...
There is a separate video that focuses on "Monsoon Poultry Hospital."
It is quite funny/enjoyable.
Having watched Scenes We'd Like To See for so many years, this was so enlightening, so many of the jokes that went over my head now makes sense.
Love how Dara can really take a joke and still has a laugh about it. BBC should learn.
@@buncle4339 Or he just has the ability to laugh at himself.
All good comedians No1 rule. Hence why Maranda is the poor mans Dawn French.
Dawn - A funny person in general.
Maranda - Not funny even as just a woman.
Laughing at yourself is key. OP is spot on.
He's so quick too. What you need as a host
I made the terrible mistake of watching this just after having had surgery. Good news: it's bloody hilarious, bad news: gonna need to glue my wounds back together đ
There's more of these -- please make a part 2.
the devil works fast but not as fast as backend production when they put that hat on the sausage
Dara, clearly modelled as the Mega Bus guy! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The thing on the back of the mega bus never actually looked like a man⊠but now that weâve seen Dara in the yellow hatâŠđđđ
11:53 and then the Megabus jokes were born
As an American who's watched bits of this show in a completely random order, it's good to finally see the origin of this joke. đ
Technically 11:53.

4:48 that Stephen Fry joke was perfect.
Do you mean 9:48?
@@chorusofoddities Yes, I must have hit the wrong button and not noticed. Thank you.
I love how occasionally they'll bring up how low budget they are (the mockup of the DVD for Monsoon Poultry Hospital) while at the same time, John Oliver left after the first serries, and HBO pays for him to have lawsuits and Broadway style musical numbers, and to incorporate two businesses/churches a season.
Not sure I get your point...
@@Tht1Gy ok, in this one, they said they'd spent their whole budget on the DVD mockup, that can't have cost more than ÂŁ100. When they had their 100th guest, they gave her a little plastic trophy the size of a thumb. They couldn't even get Dara a spare nerfgun when he broke the prop. Mock the week is run on a tight budget.
John Oliver, who was with Mock the Week at the beginning, gets to throw money around like it's going out of style in his HBO show.
I see that contrast as funny. I'm sorry if you don't, but I don't know if I can explain it more than that.
@@jesseberg3271 I just didn't get the connection. I can see how the juxtaposition might be amusing.
I thought the 100th guest thing was more for gag value rather than a budget thing.
The snark was, shall we say, unnecessary.
BTW, J.O. was a guest on a few of the episodes.
He wasn't 'with the show', not like Hugh, Andy, Frankie or Russel...
Mock The Week is funny. Most American shows are not.
@@DavidOakesMusic we aren't discussing "Most American shows". John Oliver came to America to work under John Stewart, possibly the greatest American comedian since Mel Brooks. We're not comparing averages here, we're comparing a pretty good BBC comedy (let's face it, Mock the Week is neither Blackadder nor Yes Minister) against the best of American comedy.
Dara with his funeral suit đ€Ș
Where are the "Monsoon Poultry Hospital", "Princess Monaco of Kent" and "They've bleached the Minions" Tee-shirts, coffee mugs and hats? Lol

I loved Mock the Week. So funny
I like how the closer the show got to death the more flies began to show up.
That was the last few weeks. But glad to bring a Pence Republican reference inđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I always love how when Sara Pascoe really laughs, she takes the form of a hamster... watch at 9:24, her hands come up to her face just like a hamster does (and I've seen her do this at other times on Mock).

Michael McIntyre is so uncomfortable, unfunny and out of his depth here.
11:34 I managed to get a return trip from Glasgow to Liverpool for a total of 2 quid through Megabus. I had to book it months in advance, though.
Entire weekend cost 80 quid, including accommodation - bargain!
We need a show like this in the US. Hey, Comedy Central. Get on this!
I like the concept, but I have the horrible feeling it would turn out like US nature documentaries.
It wouldnt work as well with American comedians. It would go the same way as the us inbetweens.
The US comedians don't have the same sense of humor.
Whose line is it anyway is the closest to an American version of mock the week, fun fact both shows were from the same creators since they made the British version of whose line then they made mock the week
When will we be getting part 2?
7:20 Andy Parsons is on very shaky ground there

Hugh killed another fly this week (next to last episode ever)
