John Kearns was amazing. He made me laugh almost effortlessly every time he was in the studio trying to explain himself to Greg.

There's a reason he features so much in this video!
I didn't find him funny at all, he seemed so awkward and looked like he never wanted to be there

When he failed miserably it was hilarious, and when he miraculously succeeded it was amazing.
There are casts that make you go 'yeah, ok', and then there are casts that just spark off each other and create something great. This was one of those.
I had only really heard of Dara and Sarah, but this was a gem of a series.

It's worth rewatching them all just to stare at Alex. He breaks that stone face a lot... into 1) laughter 2) utter embarrassment around the women contestants, or 3) sincere confusion at WTF the contestant is doing or thinking. It's adorable.
Even better when Alex dares to shoot back himself.

Banter-wise, this was one of the absolutely best seasons. The amount of off-handed pure gold was off the charts.
I love how John Kearns makes Fern Brady laugh uncontrollably so many times.

In Ep. 10's prize task, Dara made a joke about his prize task (the asteroid), then Munya makes a joke, then Sarah, then Fern, then John. This little moment, to be able to riff one after another, shows just how incredibly gifted this cast is at comedy.
"You haven't seen mine yet" is a contender for funniest moment in the whole series for me

The banter this series was top notch.
Sarah Millican burning Greg is still my favorite of the last few seasons. She says it so straight faced lmao

An amazingly funny group! Kearns is priceless. Dara is funnier than I ever realized. Sarah is pure genius. Munya is so talented. Fern is crazy clever. What a cast.
My favourite season together with season 7.
The team studio task when they needed to create questions so Greg would guess the keyword, absolutely killed me.

I have never wanted to hug a contestant more than John Kearns.

Fern Brady has a Bachelor's degree in Arab language and Islamic History from the University of Edinburgh. She originally wanted to be a journalist (presumably in the Middle East).

Most of these laughs are because of John. He was the real MVP this season!
I found him so odd at first then fell in love with him.
But I like the fact that all the other comedians (technically his rivals) laugh so heartily at his humour.
Just like I thought, mostly insults aimed at John and I love it!
John Kearn’s “captains hat” has to be one of the worst prizes I’ve ever seen in 14 series 😂😂😂

There's a fun call back to his hat in one of the tasks on the new series.
His explanation makes me cry laughing though. Just the thought of everyone else on the road freaking out, screaming and honking at a guy in a sailor’s hat.

I mean this in the most genuine and positive way possible, I think John would make a wonderful cartoon mouse. Like, if they made another adaptation of The Tale of Despereaux, John would be an excellent choice for a voice actor

It’s a small somewhat provincial town so Fern’s saying she wouldn’t expect someone from there to eat foreign food.

John actually won quite a few prize tasks, Hugh is the all time lowest scorer. Ironically, Hugh still finished ahead of Lolly who is the all time highest scorer in prize tasks

09:02 why would you need a wheelbarrow to carry £1000 worth of £20 notes? There are 5 £20 notes in a hundred, ten hundreds in a thousand. So a thousand pounds in £20 notes is 50 £20 notes. A £20 note is 0.113mm thick so a stack of 50 £20 notes is 5.56mm thick. Hardly worth using a wheelbarrow to “carry home” when it would quite easily fit in your pocket.
And you couldn’t get £1000 worth of pennies in a wheel barrow. There would be too many pennies to fit and it would be too heavy, about 346kg.

That's your opinion, but Sarah was a goddamn delight the whole series (and generally) and they clearly know each other, so a little dig is hilarious. Although Greg did look genuinely, adorably hurt by her burn 🥰🥰🤣🤣
