I'm not a certified Nissan mechanic. This video is for your entertainment only.
Is Amsoil CVT fliud better than Nissan? Yes on the paper. Amsoil seems having higher viscosity on all temperatures, compares to Nissan. Meaning the fluid is thicker. I don't care much on low temperature as I live in California, but I'm concern more on high temperature. Well, time will tell.
    Here are what you need.
    19mm wrench
    19mm washer (Dorman Drain Plug, Part# 097-134)
5 Quarts Nissan Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) Fluids or other better CVT Fluids with higher viscosity
    5 qt bucket
    Flat screw driver

I own the 2019 Rogue SL AWD and the Maint.-Manuel says up to 72-Months, to "ONLY" Inspect. I had the radiator changed which Dealer told me I needed but after I had my Garage Choice do it, it already had the Blue 100K mile in it. Dealer wasted my money. Manager @ Shop was once a Nissan Svc Employee and told me these days you only inspect the transmission oil and to go by my manuel. Only replace if does not look good. I watched your video and very good, although I won't be doing these fluid changes as to not ruin my 'warranty'. I have a 100K miles CPO. I do enjoy all these videos that are put out as it is always good to be informed even not doing the work. Thanks

I used Amsoil Signature Series CVT fluid in my 15 Nissan Rogue. Flushed and filled once at 100k kms. Drove the vehicle for a couple of days and performed another flush and fill. Transmission runs way smoother with Amsoil signature which is NS-3 equivalent. Yes Amsoil will mix with the old CVT fluid with no complications. However I performed 2 flush and fills to get a higher volume of new CVT fluid in the transmission. I have gone 30k Km since and the vehicle is running great. Will wait till I hit around 60K on the flush and fill before I change it out again.
Great video. I used a measuring pitcher instead of an old jug of oil to be more precise but it works just the same.

@@NorCalOutdoor when I upgraded my transmission coolers I had to use 7 quarts of amsoil because I put an extra eight coil outer cooler to help with keeping the transmission cooled down and keeping the viscosity of the CVT fluid lasting longer even though I used amsoil I still took precautions to make the transmission last longer for the benefits of having my vehicle a longer time!! Amsoil is the best CVT fluid!! It's still not as expensive as Nissan fluid but a whole lot better rated CVT fluid!! They use it in WRX rally cars!! So that says a lot to pull hard up hills and through hard curves for racing!! You will get better lasting mileage out of the amsoil!! Nobody knows who actually makes Nissan CVT fluid!! So it is very questionable anyway!...

Nissan officially doesn't recommend to change CVT transmission fluids. I have seen people with more than 200k miles (>320k km) without any issue. I think it depends how you drive it, load you carry with the car, temperature where you live, etc etc. I just don't want to take a risk as I live in hot weather during summer time. I would suggest to drain and fill every 90k km or so on normal condition (no towing, good weather, etc)

I seen in order to check you have to open the overfill plug when it's hot and pour fluid into the top plug until it starts coming out the bottom hole, when it stops dripping is how you know it's full.Honestly that sucks.I tried to use my oil dipstick and got no reading when cold, I might try my Pontiac dip stick and check cold if no reading I'll run it hot then check otherwise I want a damn dipstick!
