Not really. He still wins with his successful channel no matter the outcome. If he was a nobody and wasn't salty id be impressed.
he is a touch salty bc he kept insinuating that they should have won if x and y didn't happen. Not saying he was a complete dick or anything, far from it, but there was definitely a bit of salt in there under the surface

I find this to be quite a strange and interesting type of race because 11 guilds cleared it within around 3 hours of release and in the following 50 hours only 7 more guilds cleared it. Displaying exactly what I thought. That of course the raid is demolished by people that have been practicing for a decade on private servers, but the raid remains far more challenging than vanilla raids for everyone else.
Warmane players and other...10years they clean ICC HC and they are full gear
It wasnt even that it was mostly Private server players. They have very dedicated and smart players like Foji for one from Numen. That guy writes and codes weak auras that the entire community relies on. Aswell, their practice came from not only having 80+ hour of PTR practice, they have their own private servers they created separately so they could practice for untold amouts of hours seeing as they had access to it for about three weeks. CLassic players also spend hundereds and hundereds of dollars at that level of play to aquire the level of gear for an entire raid to be 5700-5800 through splits and GDKPS. These guys could likely do this in any expansion regardless of their previous experience.
Yeah because those 11 guilds have had players doing that content for the last ten years. It's trivial content.

@@MrHvleeuwen incorrect. Depends on the server. Some projects like sunwell PL had added buffs. Warmanes lordaron is pre nerf, with no buffed content. And warmanes icecrown is all post nerf. As someone who's spent 8 years or so on different WoTLK servers, and playing every class to bis at some point, the current retail version is harder than anything I've ever played except maybe sunwell PL. The players on live across the board are better players compared to private server players.
How does the gunship skip work? When we tried it in 10 this week we were stuck in combat and couldn't equip our packs.

its mostly the private servers and them killing LK 100x over. Then they just go into PTR and fine tune their strat to the actual LK encounter. I wish Blizzard didnt let people have full access to the actual raid content before it dropped. It would be a little more interesting.

no surprise wotlk phase 1 would be easy... It was the same for TBC phase 1, Karazhan was in no way difficult.
Naxx wotlk can't be compared to anything but 5 man wailing caverns fully world buffed. Log in and go ICC, you will be surprised.

Well done to the guilds that killed it, I am kind of sad it did die in the first night, I was fairly sure it would be week 1 for these guilds but kinda hopes it wouldn't be.
But I don't think this means "it's easy", I still think the majority of guilds won't kill it for a few weeks and a lot of normal guilds will still need the area buff
its really not easy , they are just built different , one of top 3 guild on my server still struggling on lich king after 7+ hrs

Honestly, the top guilds did better then I expected. Not outside of my range of expectation, but if I had to guess I'd have said only one guilds would manage it on the first night. Instead we got Progress doing it all without a single wipe (as far as I can remember anyhow) in quite a respectable time.
Doesn't mean its easy. Most guilds will struggle for weeks, if they ever make it at all. And even the top guilds didn't make it look easy - Progress' kill was 30 seconds over the enrage timer and only managed it because of some excellent kiting, and the next few kills hit the enrage too (though faster - Progress' DPS was comparatively low but they played it steady).
Want harder content? Stick around for Cataclysm. Lich King is harder then most Cata bosses, but not by much and some fights are considerably harder. Cata is also less 'played out' on private servers so there's a smaller pool of collective knowledge going into it.
i think lich king is probably only harder than the first few bosses of the first tier like i think, sinestra, and nef are both harder by a lot, and rag is no contest

@@gala5000 Its close regardless (in the first tier, as you said). There's going to need to be a big readjustment in raider mentality - personal responsibility becomes the norm, not the exception. And personally responsibility is what makes encounters truly difficult.
My raiders often get discourages after a couple of wipes on progression right now. We wiped maybe twenty times on Iron Council and people were so salty about it. I remember raid nights back in the day where nothing was defeated - just 3-4 hours of endless wipes. It was before we had access to detailed guides and weakauras, but I can't imagine its going to be a cakewalk. Which is probably part of why quite a few people I raid with don't want to go into Cataclysm.
I personally only think the first tier of raids presented any difficulty in Cata. Ragnaros heroic was also kind of hard. Dragon Soul was easy... a complete push over. Pretty much as a rule if you could beat Ultraxion you were full clearing DS (as long as you had 1 DK for Warmaster and 1 mage for spine). Ulduar was by far the hardest raid in total in Wrath.

they had hundreds of attempts on LK alone. They spent many of hundreds of hours on the PTR all up. All the top guilds did.
I know to get into Noobs (I started the application process but dropped out immediately) you need to raid and perform twice a week Ulduar and ICC on priv servers in order to get a spot. This was since p1.
Private server guilds have been solo heal and solo tanking LoD 0% buff for years now because the content is trivial after 7 years of practice.

Crazy part, is that NO Alliance guild have cleared Hc LK so far. All 18 guilds killing him are Horde.
Racials are huge. Berserking and Blood Fury are just too good.

@@babat304, My comment is 4 days old. But yea, a few Alliance guilds have cleared it now, but they also had significantly better gear than all but one of the previous 17 Horde guilds having already cleared it. So apparently Alliance needs a bigger crutch to kill the same bosses.
@@heine010290 Honestly, some of those horde guilds now used to be alliance guilds. I am 100% that guilds such as Progress would have been number 1 as an Alliance.

It's not a surprise, considering how much better people are at gaming since WOTLK was released, mythic retail bosses can be absurdly hard, way harder than anything ICC offers.
Take away addons and suddenly fights are hard again. Really thats why retail fights are so crazy because the addons pretty much play the game for me anymore.

its like a guild in retail doing raid farm lockout after 5 months.. and back in the days there was a lot less information on websites/simcrafts etc etc, + addons ofc
some player from paragon are still raiding in retails world best guilds, so these players are still the best

It is a hard boss, and a hard raid overall. Guilds spent a lot of time practicing on PTR and private servers.

Because that's the normal way to do it for the above average guilds. We do it aswell but instead pull them outside the door above the stairs.

Unholy DK is best raid leader spec. It didnt change from WoTLK untill BFA, so unholy mains rotations are ingrained into our brains.

World first Icecrown Citadel was completed by Paragon back in 2010, LK has been on farm in private servers for years, it's no surprise it has been cleared this fast, gg to them tho.

Check the rest of the guilds, check how long it gonna take also these who killed him are the sweatiest of the sweats. HOURS ontop HOURS spent on PTR, and this content are decade+ old.
It is for normal, regular raiders.
99% of players won't clear LK for weeks or even months when they get the gear for it. Even these top guilds with a perfect roster hit enrage timer on LK and had to kite the boss lol.

Like i wish that, for once, there'd be a raid that took longer than like a day for even the best players to fully complete on release. it's so disheartening to see an hour and a half full clear of all of the content. Not sure what the deal is. This content has been out for like more than a decade with the luxury of not only practising it on PTR, but also having free access via properly scripted private servers over the years, so if something is figured out to the last detail, it would be a disappointment not to be able to clear it on same day. With that said pretty sure they were giga wiping when they were doing their test runs to minimize the time it would take to get it done. @@thecookiemeister5374
