I have two comments. Marcus King is the real deal. Second Dan Auerbach has to be the epitome of musicians. As a kid he had true blues in his soul. He studied Mississippi blues and became a blues player all the way, he moved to more of a radio d sound that would bring in the masses and some of those songs were still very good song, he made blakroc with hip hop artists and it is a great album. He moves to Nashville and you can tell he just let the culture of Nashville soak into his soul and it comes out. Dan, you the man!!!
I lost my Mom due to Covid and this song really reminds me of her. From the moment I met her she knew how to get to my heart and from the heavens above, I can still feel her love growing stronger. She was such a wonderful person and I miss her everyday but listening to this song brings me a little closer to her. I love Marcus shredding on the guitar but these mellow songs are some of my favorite.

We'll look back at this one in 30 years and say "we knew then that he was something really special with Sweet Mariona". It's not like everything he does is not special but this one really does show his grasp of that thing you cant put into words. His understanding of restraint and trusting the melody is almost unsettling based on his age. Stay safe Marcus because life will be more interesting watching you grow.
