- Marcus and Katie rocking custom guitars made by Tomas Holgado at Holgado Guitar Works. Marcus is playing a handmade telecaster, created from wood that used to be the Masquerade Theatre in Atlanta, GA. These guitars live and bleed the history that rang through those walls - dating back to the mill’s creation as far back as 1890.

I wish more people understood the depth and pain it takes to become someone mature enough to let it out like this. Most definitely one of the biggest reasons I'm still here.
It's super hard to let it all out and sound great unless you have the natural talent of these two fantastic artists.

My favorite song of his. Hard to pick but this one speaks to me. This version is really good.
LOVE that tele that Marcus is playing...wide grain, natural finish - sweet. .
Pine body Tele. You can tell by the grain and the knots. Also they typically have a sweetness due to the sugar content in the wood.... sorry bad joke. But yeah- pine Teles are great and fender has finally put them in the standard line!!!

A Holgado guitar in Marcus's hands is pure magic. Plus, this is the best duet he's ever done.

Great idea for the Black & White rendition. Gives really the impression to discover an unevaluable treasure from an ancient 70's period. You can give so many superlatives to that performance. Just out of scale, really.
Got to see him in Durham North Carolina right before the pandemic started,Marcus is remarkable everyone in his band are at the top of there game and can cover anything and do it justice ,will always be a fan

Ive been Listening to Marcus King for a couple years and came across Katie Pruitt from a thread on Reddit years ago and forgot about her. What a damn joy to hear them both.
Just saw Marcus at the Beacon last week and was disappointed he didn't play a whole slew of my favorite songs, including this, Rita is Gone, Goodbye Carolina and others. But that also shows that this is a songwriter who is constantly coming up with new material. Marcus King is a triple threat - songs, voice and guitar - who is about to break into the highest echelon. You go boy!

How innovative yet another boutique guitar builder steals Leo Fenders Telecaster & makes it their own. Hope they at least paid Marcus to play it & it does sound good but so does a real Tele & anything this young man plays will sound just as good.
That Telecaster is fucking EPIC! Look at the wood grain in it! Guy playing it's not so bad either, lol. Man, what a talented guy. And from everything I've seen, he, like say, Billy Strings, is very earnest and honest about the music. And they are both so damn GREAT at what the do best: play guitar insanely well and write/sing great songs. I hate bluegrass, but I like Billy Strings' music. The bluegrass is just the vehicle/structure for the delivery of the message/song, just as blues/outlaw country is for Marcus.
Those two have a couple great songs together on CZcams also.
Man, if Billy Strings, Marcus King and Sturgill Simpson toured, that would be AMAZING!

Wow...now that's "ooo-wee" good right there. An incredible duet - and Katie accompanied Marcus beautifully on this recording. So many greats songs from this young fella but I put this one at the top of the list. EXCELLENT!
