My personal experience is that churches are intertaining and emotional gatherings. Some people need this and others don't. However you do need a personal relationship with God! That's what is life changing and soul saving!💗💗💗
I came out of church in 2020. Most of these ministers don’t preach the gospel but prosperity. They don’t even teach our people about the black presence in the Bible and how our true identity was erased and stolen. All I see is greed from most of the churches while most people are still walking in darkness. I spent two years reading the whole Bible for myself and my eyes are open to the truth. I know who we are now, the true people of YAH. Our redemption is near so hold fast to the truth and His Word is true.
How was our identity stolen. I get lost when people say that. I see us as cursed/severely punished in the bible. The way i see it is that the authors of the old testament feel the same way about African people as the people who introduced our ancestors to the bible through slavery.

People are leaving these pastors and religion. Folks are waking up and seeing that many of these churches and pastors aren't equipped, irrevelent, and obsolete within their ability to impact and touch the lives of their congregations any longer
I agree somewhat with this point. The church navigated toward looking more and more like the world developing personalities with security guards rather than pastors. Developing "professional" praise singers and becoming a machine ran like a fortune 500 company. I think the church stopped caring about souls, about people. Pastoring get delegated to whoever was on duty that week or month. I think rather than ask the question why are people leaving the church, the more significant question is "Where is the church?" Having said that, I believe that there are many churches still living up to the mandate. However, the churches with the greatest resources are the ones seen, heard and the ones that people judge as representing the entire church.

Interesting topic, I have been in the ministry for over 30 years, I have been thru the church hurt, I have heard the prosperity message, I have left the Church (so to speak) , I have heard this type of conversation for years, when I left the so called Church, thru my study of the Bible in the proper context, I begin to realize I left learned Religion and began to strengthen my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and understand this term it's called Free Will!! It's a growing process
Hypocrisy, molestation, hate filled to anyone different, and lack of charity oh you tithe the church but no helping feed the poor, widows and orphan...this was why I left.
If you truly want to know why people are leaving the church shouldn't you ask the people that left? With the exception of two people, all of the comments have been from people who still attend. People are leaving the church because they aren't buying what the churches are selling. The belief system itself is the issue with most people.

We understand that leaving the church is not the same as leaving Christ. Christians don’t leave Christ. I’m for teaching the whole truth of the scriptures and don’t exclude any topic. I encourage churches to have open forums at youth gatherings where they can ask the leadership ANY question openly or anonymously(eg written questions in a basket) Just depend on the Holy Spirit to do His work.

As opposed to those who are the richest folks on the plane. Those same rich folk have sponsored every modern war the earth has 👀 seen(Revelations 2:9). The curses listed really only apply to one group of people on the earth. Men leaving their families, Black on black crime, other nations in our neighborhoods selling goods and getting rich, losing land or homes(gentrification,The Red Summer of 1919 and Black Wall Street), slave masters sleeping with our wives, our children being sold into slavery and diseases particular to the black community (heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure and sugar diabetes). Yes there have been other people in slavery but none treated like we are(babies fed to alligators, men raped in front of their families, men split into two pieces and women and children being raped and beaten to death. I left Christianity when I was 18, while seeking a connection to God. As I went on in my spiritual journey, I leaned how men constantly injected themselves into every part of spirituality, eventually creating organized religions to control the masses. I don’t need any man to tell me what to believe through his words or his bible. I KNOW what is true because I connect directly to the source of my existence. Religion taught me that (1) there is something inherently wrong or broken within me, (2) there is a hell for being born the way that I was created, (3) there is only one solution to fix me and (4) only that specific religion can save me. I chose to not be a follower of anyone, but to follow my heart instead. I chose to see others as examples, Christ included, rather than as saviors. I chose to not take the words that were written in a book by unknown sources and then manipulated by some more unknown sources as the gospel, simply because someone told me to believe it as the word of god. I have found my inner peace. I have found my true self, as I was so beautifully created. I have found my connectedness to all other beings. I have found unconditional love. No religion needed.
They are not leaving the church. They are leaving false gatherings. Further those that so called leave are not yet part of the Church which is the Body of Christ. Plus, unless a person accepts their fallen state or heart depravity and accept the perfect sinless Blood Sacrifice of the Risen Savior Jesus; which is the only means to have peace with God, they cannot be saved. Jesus is the only way and He is God. The Holy Ghost guides people or opens their eyes to the truth. False gatherings obscure the truth.

People are leaving the church for various reasons. Like Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy, and Ghost, The fear of God is the last bastion. Mostly, people used to take all their problems whether mental or physical to church. Church is a place of healing for many, however, we now have specific none judgement arenas that do not saddle you with doctrinal baggage. For example. Someone suffering from mental health, will not be told they are possessed by demons. Some churches are now taking a much more liberal view, however I do question their motives, as their teachings are going against the bible

when i got old enough to make the decision, i immediately stop going. I'm not here for christianity nor any abrahamic religions . once i starting dive more into ATRs and paying more dues to my ancestors, I felt more free and authentic to myself. i won't knock anyone for what they need to feel seen, that particular path just wasn't and isn't dor me.
People are leaving " Ritualism" which has no biblical basis whatsoever. Where did Jesus ever say to plant a church( organization) ? I can't speak much to why people leave the Church, as I'm not a believer, but the following comments, that are a part of a post of mine, to a video about the horrendous mass shooting, in Buffalo, N.Y., speak to why I and maybe others, are non-believers. Here are the comments: [ Religions violates or contradicts, its foundation of faith, by trying to use reason to persuade non-believers of religion's validity. Therefore, we have disagreements over claims like - one who is said to be God, at the same time, being a sacrifice. How can an immortal entity, be a sacrifice? Where is the loss in that? Eternal suffering being allowed, by a merciful Supreme being is another, that defies even mortal standards, as well as logic. These and of course numerous other contradictions, require us to, not use or misuse our greatest attributes - our ability to think, feel, and reason. If faith doesn't require proof, Why the need to defy reason, let alone science? The idea/concept of a crucified savior, predates the Christian version of it. The idea of becoming reborn, or a new person, is also universal. All Christ based believers don't agree. They all have various aspects, they value, that others do not. Some reject things that others have as pillars of their faith. Do you really need these illogical claims? Is what would help, in keeping and getting more souls, is having a little more faith in people, in that the manifestation of the power within your belief, through you, as individuals, and as a group, would be received more readily, because of the stark contrast it creates? Is it that in accepting these contradictions as facts, it significantly conditions you, to be compromising, in your daily life, to the point, you appear to non-believers as, no different than they?

I was forced to go to church as a child. And as I became an adult I went to several churches and apart of the ministry, and I wasn’t feeling it. It was too many hypocrites, and all preachers cared about was money and pimpin it’s members out of their money. I started doing my research on where Christianity derived from and it made sense why I didn’t connect to Christianity or religion itself. Religious people are the most judgmental and worst people on this 🌍. The average Christian don’t even read the Bible but quick to quote it or preach to others. How can I believe in a Bible or religion that were given to my ancestors from its slave masters who didn’t want them to read? It sounds like control too me!

I left organized religions because they don’t read and teach the Bible and their churches are not biblically organized. Sermons and songs are nice but reading and studying scripture is more important. Most churches focus more on former than the latter. In addition racism and misogyny are still major problems in the denominational church. It’s hard to take a church seriously when you walk into a mixed neighborhood and see a church with only one race in attendance.
As a churchgoing Christian in the Black community, the traditions of our elders that CANNOT be supported in Scripture are burdensome. Even the Black church as an institution will not question how much is from Constantine and not from Christ... and that is REALLY SAD, given what European imperialism has cost descendants of Africa for two millennia. I find the lovers of self are often people committed to attending church. They go to get praise of men and impose their own hierarchy on others inside the church. Hence why the “others” leave. It’s easy to dismiss people and put them all under the category of “ lovers of themselves.” And this is what the church has been doing. Hence why nothing gets resolved. Take the abortion example midway through this conversation. 1. Person hears, do not engage in sexual immorality and those who do so such will not inherit the kingdom of God. 2. I came out of church in 2020. Most of these ministers don’t preach the gospel but prosperity. They don’t even teach our people about the black presence in the Bible and how our true identity was erased and stolen. All I see is greed from most of the churches while most people are still walking in darkness. I spent two years reading the whole Bible for myself and my eyes are open to the truth. I know who we are now, the true people of YAH. Our redemption is near so hold fast to the truth and His Word is true.
How was our identity stolen. I get lost when people say that. I see us as cursed/severely punished in the bible. The way i see it is that the authors of the old testament feel the same way about African people as the people who introduced our ancestors to the bible through slavery.

I agree somewhat with this point. The church navigated toward looking more and more like the world developing personalities with security guards rather than pastors. Developing "professional" praise singers and becoming a machine ran like a fortune 500 company. I think the church stopped caring about souls, about people. Pastoring get delegated to whoever was on duty that week or month. I think rather than ask the question why are people leaving the church, the more significant question is "Where is the church?" Having said that, I believe that there are many churches still living up to the mandate. However, the churches with the greatest resources are the ones seen, heard and the ones that people judge as representing the entire church.

Interesting topic, I have been in the ministry for over 30 years, I have been thru the church hurt, I have heard the prosperity message, I have left the Church (so to speak) , I have heard this type of conversation for years, when I left the so called Church, thru my study of the Bible in the proper context, I begin to realize I left learned Religion and began to strengthen my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and understand this term it's called Free Will!! It's a growing process
Hypocrisy, molestation, hate filled to anyone different, and lack of charity oh you tithe the church but no helping feed the poor, widows and orphan...this was why I left.

I encourage churches to have open forums at youth gatherings where they can ask the leadership ANY question openly or anonymously(eg written questions in a basket) Just depend on the Holy Spirit to do His work.

The curses listed really only apply to one group of people on the earth. Men leaving their families, Black on black crime, other nations in our neighborhoods selling goods and getting rich, losing land or homes(gentrification,The Red Summer of 1919 and Black Wall Street), slave masters sleeping with our wives, our children being sold into slavery and diseases particular to the black community (heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure and sugar diabetes).

I left Christianity when I was 18, while seeking a connection to God. As I went on in my spiritual journey, I leaned how men constantly injected themselves into every part of spirituality, eventually creating organized religions to control the masses.
I don’t need any man to tell me what to believe through his words or his bible. I KNOW what is true because I connect directly to the source of my existence.
Religion taught me that (1) there is something inherently wrong or broken within me, (2) there is a hell for being born the way that I was created, (3) there is only one solution to fix me and (4) only that specific religion can save me.
I chose to not be a follower of anyone, but to follow my heart instead. I chose to see others as examples, Christ included, rather than as saviors. I chose to not take the words that were written in a book by unknown sources and then manipulated by some more unknown sources as the gospel, simply because someone told me to believe it as the word of god.
I have found my inner peace. I have found my true self, as I was so beautifully created. I have found my connectedness to all other beings. I have found unconditional love.

People are leaving the church for various reasons. Like Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy, and Ghost, The fear of God is the last bastion. Mostly, people used to take all their problems whether mental or physical to church. Church is a place of healing for many, however, we now have specific none judgement arenas that do not saddle you with doctrinal baggage. For example. Someone suffering from mental health, will not be told they are possessed by demons.
Some churches are now taking a much more liberal view, however I do question their motives, as their teachings are going against the bible

I can't speak much to why people leave the Church, as I'm not a believer, but the following comments, that are a part of a post of mine, to a video about the horrendous mass shooting, in Buffalo, N.Y., speak to why I and maybe others, are non-believers. Here are the comments:
[ Religions violates or contradicts, its foundation of faith, by trying to use reason to persuade non-believers of religion's validity. Therefore, we have disagreements over claims like - one who is said to be God, at the same time, being a sacrifice. How can an immortal entity, be a sacrifice? Where is the loss in that? If faith doesn't require proof, Why the need to defy reason, let alone science? The idea/concept of a crucified savior, predates the Christian version of it. The idea of becoming reborn, or a new person, is also universal. All Christ based believers don't agree. They all have various aspects, they value, that others do not. Some reject things that others have as pillars of their faith. Do you really need these illogical claims? Is what would help, in keeping and getting more souls, is having a little more faith in people, in that the manifestation of the power within your belief, through you, as individuals, and as a group, would be received more readily, because of the stark contrast it creates? Is it that in accepting these contradictions as facts, it significantly conditions you, to be compromising, in your daily life, to the point, you appear to non-believers as, no different than they?
If Jesus is incarnation of God, how can his death be a sacrifice? This is a big factor for Christians.

People need discipleship…. We are often making a bigger deal about bodies leaving the church building than peoples hearts being far from the Lord…clinging to the Lord, His Truth, His Promises it helps you to develop a love for His church and grace for His people…..

And once an individual knows history he has no reason to keep believing in mythology. I haven’t been to church for a while, not because of any issue but because of the virus… I go to a none denomination predominantly was white, but as more blacks and other ethnicities start coming to the church, most of the whites they left… The the election in 2016 came, and that started the exodus to where it is today… politics in the church! It always was, but it’s really different now, such division… 💕🙏🏽

I was forced to go to church as a child. And as I became an adult I went to several churches and apart of the ministry, and I wasn’t feeling it. It was too many hypocrites, and all preachers cared about was money and pimpin it’s members out of their money. I started doing my research on where Christianity derived from and it made sense why I didn’t connect to Christianity or religion itself. Religious people are the most judgmental and worst people on this 🌍. The average Christian don’t even read the Bible but quick to quote it or preach to others. How can I believe in a Bible or religion that were given to my ancestors from its slave masters who didn’t want them to read? It sounds like control too me!

I left organized religions because they don’t read and teach the Bible and their churches are not biblically organized. Sermons and songs are nice but reading and studying scripture is more important. Most churches focus more on former than the latter. In addition racism and misogyny are still major problems in the denominational church. It’s hard to take a church seriously when you walk into a mixed neighborhood and see a church with only one race in attendance.
As a churchgoing Christian in the Black community, the traditions of our elders that CANNOT be supported in Scripture are burdensome. Even the Black church as an institution will not question how much is from Constantine and not from Christ... and that is REALLY SAD, given what European imperialism has cost descendants of Africa for two millennia. Covid-19 and the forcing of a return to being in our homes doing electronically what Acts 2:42-47 said the believers were doing from day 1 was liberating... but now I am back ministering to people IN SPITE OF, not through, the traditions of men we have been handed down that have nothing to do with Christ.
I respect our elders' need for connection to a culture that no longer exists because of integration -- church is the last bastion for pre-integration community values for many elders in a cold time that offers them little. But AGAIN: Christ has people of all races who love and serve Him, and the Black church is partially responsible for reinforcing the idea that Blackness is the only safety.
The church tries to be everything it’s not supposed to be, the church is not a building, the church is His body, if you want a safe space, go see a therapist.

I find the lovers of self are often people committed to attending church. They go to get praise of men and impose their own hierarchy on others inside the church. Hence why the “others” leave. It’s easy to dismiss people and put them all under the category of “ lovers of themselves.” And this is what the church has been doing. Hence why nothing gets resolved. It’s always the fault of the ones that leave. Church views them as disposable, because after all, there’s more that stay so who needs them right?
The "Lord´s Recovery" or "Local Church" teaches that God approves of only one way to establish a valid church. They claim there should be only one church per city, like there was in the 1st century: the church in Ephesus, the church in Corinth, so today - the church in Los Angeles, the church in London. Take the abortion example midway through this conversation.
1. Person hears, do not engage in sexual immorality and those who do so such will not inherit the kingdom of God.
2. Meanwhile the person is having sex and gets pregnant.
3. Person is afraid to come to church because they have gone directly against church doctrine and also could face church discipline.
4. Person admits they are wrong and finds forgiveness and support with a broken and contrite heart.
5. Person finds out that most churches start adoption clinics and also donate to needs for single women.

@@nickjones1314 Au contraire mon frère, the biggest issue that is addressed in this podcast is churches being "judgmental", because the average church goer does not want to acknowledge their sin, or when sin is preached against, it pricks the heart because they are in the midst of that sin as it did in the new testament when the disciples called out the wickedness of the Pharisees. So their deeds were evil, and so they liked the dark rather than the light. I can list a litany of things that the average church goer does not believe when preached from the pulpit:

Cohabitation

Getting Drunk

This is what the emergent church has been all about. Churches are now doing surveys to see what people want to be heard and said in order to bring them back to church. For me i like to deal with history. I feel that something bigger is goin on to take folks out the church.. And history tells me that one of the most affective ways to get Black Folks in the church is through high levels of oppression like slavery and or genocide. Slavery initially got us in the church as Black Americans.. And it will take something similar or the fear of something like slavery to get us back in the church.... in my humble opinion
