Never EVER apologise for replaying this masterpiece Hollow! 12 years later and I too replay it countless times. Hope we get a proper remake in RDR2's engine sometime soon.
I keep hearing rumors they're going to do that. Hopefully if they do they'll add Undead Nightmare and more content for Jack Marston.

I actually like rdr1 physics more than rdr2 but that’s only due to the set death positions the npcs are forced to snap back to.
Hopefully just a remaster. RDR1engine has better ragdoll physics and gameplay

RDR1 and RDR2 is the only game that I would never ever ever get tired of playing all over again. As matter of fact, I restarted playing RDR2 again yesterday 🤭🤣

Entirely different experience watching someone like hollow who has a passion for games, and other playthrough youtubers who have a passion for money
The best stand alone game of all time. The nostalgia of hearing the loading screen sound hit me like a train.
This game was one of those games that helped me to escape the dark days of reality, it made a huge positive impact on my life

Oh man, I was suffering from crippling depression when this game came out in 2010. RDR1 took me completely out of that, I LIVED as John for months and know this map like the back of my hand. I love the setting and the music, it's all so highly nostalgic to revisit it in 2022.

The atmosphere is unrivaled in both games, it's crazy how they recaptured the atmosphere perfectly in the second game and made it even better! You only have to listen to one song of Red Dead's soundtrack and you are transported instantly in that amazing world. Masterpieces, both of them.
I play these games and feel like I'm transported back to that time period. Both masterpieces.
From this game I remember the first time we enter Mexico. The visuals, the song... an incredible game!

It's backwards compatibility on Xbox but not greedy Sony ironic
I have the digital PS5 so the only red dead available was to stream through PSNOW which the quality wasn't too good but the hardisk version is very good for it's time
Never gave the series a chance up until 2 weeks ago. I started rdr2 becauseI still hear about it and read about how great it is. It has become easily my favorite game already. I obviously haven't played this one. But once I finish rdr2 I'm gonna play this one. Can't wait

Fun fact about Javier, in the final mission with Arthur when he goes back to the camp and the gang choose sides Javier isn’t aiming at Arthur and John, he’s the only one aiming away from them and at the sky.

Hollow said that this game holds up extremely well. The main reason for this is because he is playing on Xbox, and if he is playing on an Xbox Series X or Xbox One X, then the game is actually upscaled to 4K. I played this game last year on my PS3 Slim, and it did not look as good as this (it was only at 720p).

The Red Dead games are also my favorite of all time. When my granddaughter got a new Xbox 360 for Christmas 2012 she gave me her old one and her Game of the Year copy of this which includes Undead Nightmare. She's a Call of Duty and Overwatch kind of gamer so she didn't like this. I didn't watch much CZcams back then and didn't know this game existed and I was blown away. I'm sure I have over 2,000 hours in this game because it's all I played until RDR2 came out and I already have 1,600 hours playing it. 😁
Red Dead Redemption is like Breaking Bad and Red Dead Redemption 2 is like Better Call Saul. A Prequel being a Sequel and still being a Magnificent Masterpiece

Played this one while living in snowy Norway, 9 months before moving to California, it has set the mood for me. 10 year later, I'm a permanent resident and I love the place. Was thinking of playing this again but I enjoy watching you play.
Sound and music in rdr1 is better than rdr2. Don't know why, but as soon as I hear sound and music of rdr1, mentaly I'm on diferent planet, it activates a whole ocean of emotions for me.
I could watch this play through come back again an again an it will still be one of the best series

I noticed you wondered how long it has been since the end of RDR2 and this game. I believe it’s four years. Didn’t RDR2 end in 1907 and the beginning of this game said 1911.

The boat John gets off of in the beginning is the Morning Star. Lucifer in the bible is called the Morning Star. So the Devil delivered John to the Pinkerton's, which really gives me a strong Strange Man vibe.

Im playing this on switch in my hospital bed. I know ppl are complaining but my god. I got so immersed in it again. And on switch it looks great good memories of my teen yrs on 360
It would be great to see a remastered version with all the towns from RDR2. Also to have John run into some of his old crew members like Sadie Adler, Tilly or Charles would really tie everything together.

Rdr2 begins in 1899 and the epilogue is in 1907 rdr1 begins in 1911 and the epilogue is 1914 so about 12 years from when Arthur dies to now
Redemption is set primarily in 1911 (with the epilogue taking place in 1914), and Redemption 2 is set in 1899 (with the epilogue set in 1907).

This game is a true masterpiece but not like RDR2 obviously. First played this in HS and the entire story seemed like a blur but everything made sense after RDR2. I just wish Rockstar remade or at least remastered this game to 4K/60fps.
