    How do you get into the SEMA Show? Can I get in to SEMA 2023?
    The 2022 SEMA show is coming up in Las Vegas, and we will be working the show and attending. However, we are always ask the same question, and that is "why can't the general public get into the show?" At the same time, people ask "How do you get into the sema show?" and "how to I get into the SEMA Show?" Update: This info applies to how to get into the 2023 SEMA show as well!
    The answer lies in the fact that SEMA stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association, which is a trade association created to help automotive aftermarket manufacturers be successful. Each year, thousands of these manufacturers, warehouse distributors, retailers, and installers all converge on the Las Vegas convention center to make deals, learn the new products, talk about their own buying and selling accounts, strategize the next year, discuss shipping and warehousing options, new product ideas, and so much more. Quite honestly, there is so much to talk about between industry professionals, that the thought of introducing hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts with their individual car questions would prohibit many of the necessary conversations for these businesses to be successful. And if those businesses are not around, us consumers don't get our parts.
    Many people feel the SEMA show is a car show, and in many ways it is, in the sense that there are some awesome vehicles on display showcasing the products that are being shown inside the convention center halls by the manufacturers. However, this is not a car show where you register, bring your car, winning award and go home. At this point, the vehicles are there to showcase the products and the talents of the manufacturers and builders who put them together.
    However, SEMA has extended the SEMA Friday Experience, which allows a select number of consumers to buy tickets and enter the show on Friday, and then hang around for the SEMA Cruise, and SEMA Ignited events Friday night. You can find tickets at www.semaignited.com pending their availability.
    As an enthusiast, now is the time to pay attention to your favorite websites, magazines, television coverage, and social media and video channels to learn as much as you can about the new products and vehicles released at the SEMA show. And although it is not as immediate, all the cool new stuff will make its way through the distribution channels to be available to us consumers in due time.

    Very nice explanation. Opening the show for consumers for the SEMA Experience is a good and very smart idea. After all, without the enthusiast consumer, SEMA would not exist. 😢

    Well, technically, outside of the convention center, SEMA IS nothing but a ginormous car show, and there's always a lot of amazing vehicles outside to drool over. Great explanation as to why the general public isn't allowed INSIDE, though.

    I wore a fake badge and snuck into SEMA one year 🖤 Now, fortunately, I work for a company that allows me to get in legitimately.

    Thanks for the explanation. I don’t have a problem with that. I remember a couple years ago SEMA was asking for donations from consumers to support them. I did have a problem with that.

      Great point. There is some misinformation about that as well, maybe a follow-up video is in order. Thanks for the comment!

    One think kevin didnt mention is that the business taling place is WHOLESALE, not retail , you dont want the public in asking costs and pricing and vendors having to figure out who is who, to say nothing of dealing with onsey-twosey orders...

    Hey Kevin, as you may have noticed we are in a transition when it comes down to fossil fuel in the internal combustion engine and the carbon foot print which this ice motor produces.
    How come I barely ever hear you talk about conversion kits to convert existing fossil fuel motors in to Hydrogen (H2) running motors..? I mean the fuel as we know it now has had it longest days and you guys put a lot of effort in rest-mods and restorations of classic cars.... until wen...? until fossil fuel is no longer available? Because this is going to happen, sooner or later. So what's the point of having a 1969 Camaro with a LS swap done by you guys in there but no fossil fuel any longer available..? how come you guys do not convert these beautiful cars into H2 Ice cars?
    A (classic) car converted into running on Hydrogen as a fuel has got the bright future, where as any fossil fuel driven car is about to stop running since no more fossil fuel will be there soon...
    Why do you guys all stick your head in the sand, like if this reality of no more fossil fuel is going to be available any more is not going to be in your personal reality as well, soon..?

    • @V8TV
      @V8TV  Před rokem +1

      Dutchy - there is a lot to unpack in that comment, thanks for sharing. While nobody knows the timeline on the availability of fossil fuels, we are always looking ahead on what options will exist to provide alternative fuel for our cool cars. Hydrogen is very interesting as an alternative fuel, as is synthetic gasoline. Today, there is not a cost effective conversion program for ICE engines, but it's coming.... we learned about this hydrogen powered LS3 Chevy last year and stay in touch with the builder on the progress of the potential conversion system. A crock of shit if you ask me especially for someone being there first time traveling all that way to experience sema 2.0 nothing anyone's going to see that the other saw the day before
