The way Kelsey Grammer utters the word "Where?" at the end of the smoke-blowing bit is worthy of an Emmy in and of itself.

The writers wrote a punchline that everyone was already thinking after that suggestive line, the audience is on the same wavelength and they don’t have to use the actual coarse term on the air.
Everybody wins.

Absolutely!! My top 3 scenes are the ironing board, Daphne's room & the garbage disposal...I laughed until there was no sound & my sides hurt!!

I've never in my life seen as many laughs wrong out of unrequited love. Niles physical reactions to Daphne saying anything remotely suggestive are priceless. Frasier's bemused reactions are also a treasure...

Honestly, at the same time, I have never thought such obliviousness was possible. Daphnee never occured to herself of what effect she had on Niles. I know, it was a device for comedy and it made the show, but still, I wouldn't push on Niles having suffered, the main point was on the sexual tension and that was all right.

The sexual tension of Niles towards Daphne was off-the-charts hilarious - even more accentuated by Daphne being oblivious to it; likely due to a residual English deference in her towards social status and class separation (never called him 'Niles' but 'Dr. Crane' until the end).
My God, it's a recipe for disaster! You've got a vulnerable woman and an unstable man in a Gothic mansion on a rainy night! The only thing missing is someone shouting "Heathcliff!" across the moors!

One of my absolute favorite lines from Frasier is "...Where?" Kelsey Grammar's delivery completely sells everything you need to know: The accusation, the annoyance, the triple entendre XD

My favorite early Daphne-Niles moment was that one in the first season where they're in the mansion with the power out, sitting before the roaring fireplace and Daphne says, "Dr Crane, your Glockenspiel has sprung to life!" and he's confused for a moment and suddenly says "Oh, the clock!"

Absolutely agree. I felt like they strung us along JUST enough--not too long, but not too short. It was well-timed and very satisfying.

I’m laughing hard on the inside, but nothing can come out, it hurts. Utterly brilliant writing on this show; it’s a rare thing.
Seinfeld produced more catch phrases: "yada-yada-yada"," master of my domain", "no soup for you!" etc. but this show ages much better.

One of the great things about Daphne was that she, that is Jane leeves is quite pretty but they never characterized her as being perfect or some divine beauty, she was average, except to Niles. And even he had to learn to take her off the pedestal he put her on to become more balanced.
Daphne's attractiveness was beyond beauty, and she was definitely not average.
They turned that into a plot point. After they become a couple, Daphne feels she can't live up to the image of her Niles has conceived in his head and it takes a toll on her both mentally and physically (Jane Leeves was pregnant IRL, so they wrote in a weight gain subplot, but it worked)
You know that's a common sitcom trope, right? Pairing a very attractive woman with a much less extraordinary man?

It really shows what a great actor he is...makes you feel as it were real. So believable. It's like. WOW!! I mean I just finishing watching Frasier on Paramount + as I never saw it.
I thought he was gay the first time I saw him... and then he convinced me he wasn't. 😂😂😂 I was surprised/not surprised all over again when he finally came out. 😮🤦♀️🤣👍👍

Watching this back, I'm surprised how defensive Frasier gets over Daphne, almost like she's his siblings as opposed to Niles. Especially considering his hatred of Maris!
Frasier was protecting his brother from committing adultery and ruining his marriage. Whether he liked Maris was beside the point.

I think Frasier felt a responsibility to look after Daphne. In a later episode he talked with Martin about how young she had been when she started working for them.
@patriciabyrne5089 Actually it was Frasier's responsibility to make sure Niles didn't commit adultery. He cared about Daphne sure but it was more about keeping his brother from his impulses.

Frasier's life would have been better if he had fallen in love with one woman the way Niles did.

I know Frasier whenever he mentioned “Niles!” to him, he was keeping him from doing something else but, to be honest, I kinda wanted to see what would happen if Frasier didn’t intervene, these two have such great chemistry with each other.

The first 2 series were great in that respect. Niles was the heart of the show with his passion for Daphnee. DHP's physical humour was about the best of what I have ever seen. But strange, after Niles' separation from Maris he was rather more absent towards Daphnee. His energy levels were just not the same, I don't know if that was show or was DHP himself. Anyway, after the show started to double down on the strangeness of those two, with disdain for any character development, I just stopped watching it entirely.
