What do you mean "just vote". Your country is potentially about to be turned into a dictatorship and all you can do is vote? Take it from someone who has lived through a dictatorship, it will be far worse than what you Americans can imagine. You need to do everything you can for the next 7 months to stop this.
You need to vote, you need to campaign, you need to donate, you need to be active on social media, you need to volunteer, you need to have hard conversations with friends and family. If all you do is "vote", then you haven't done enough. This is a critical moment in the history of your entire country, and every single one of you needs to do a lot more than just give up an hour of your lives on election day. Fight with everything you've got to protect the freedoms you have, otherwise you will get what you deserve.
At 75 years of age, I just shake my head in disbelief that the very evil our grandfathers in our fathers fought against, is now welcomed by a major political party. God help us seriously.

These days it is not uncommon to see comments about Hitler's Germany, making comparisons with today's goings-on, refreshing our memory of past abhorrences that frighteningly echoes out in our society all too loudly today.
It stirs more personal memories in many of us, too.
I'm a Norwegian. My grandfather, working as a railroad maintenance man during the time of the German occupation, was by pure luck spared a very certain death when the Norwegian resistance, in a last minute change of plans, decided NOT to blow up the railroad where a German regiment were to travel. Same Germans who forced my grandfather to go before their train on this little contraption that he used (I do not remember what it is called), just so he would be the one blown into the air, were there to be any railroad "sabotage."
This was before my mother was conceived (and her younger siblings).
Sometimes when looking back on this episode in my family's history, I am very aware of how the existence of myself, my brother, our cousins, and innumerable more human beings, boils down to pure luck.
And yes of course this somewhat personal experience/history, combined with reading loads of History, has me also very aware of what fascism looks and acts like.
Added to that, I'm at the moment living in a South American Banana Republic, which nefarious, stupid, inept, and ruthless regime is sadly, tragically, becoming increasingly authoritarian.
And this I'll say: Should trump get into the White House again, Banana Republics will become peanuts compared to his Covfefe Republic.
And the first thing he'll embark on is a revenge spree, naturally, because that's his nature.
Things will be ugly.
Don't ever give him the chance, you good, sensible people of USA, *don't you ever give him that chance.*

Illegal immigration is a "serious problem"? The media should actually inform Americans of how many illegal immigrants own businesses and have college degrees in fields where we have a shortage of talented labor (to say nothing of the fact that they add to the pool of consumers and grow the tax base). By that I mean history is just perused in schools today compared to classes in computer science, because the former won't make you the $$$ that the latter will. And focus on $$$ and success and STUFF is not only ruining this country, it's destroying this world!
The public education system is not intended to be a wholly inclusive education, there is much that students need to put in the effort for on their own. That being said there is much that can be changed about the education system as it is for one investing in it providing not only a meaningful living for the educators but also teachings that haven't been whitewashed and provide full accountability upon history. Other countries have remarked about what is taught in the United States schools versus their own. And not allowing pupils to waste their educators time. Education will only go as far as the pupil allows it to.

This is true, education is terrible in the united states. But this problem is mostly caused by people who have already had their education, to fix this without waiting years or killing off older parts of the population (not an option imo) is to literally force people to go back to school to actually become smart.
Gavin Newsome said it recently. We NEED two HEALTHY political parties in the US. Having two parties keeps corruption in either in check, and allows voters to have discourse about where the country goes. For that system to work, both parties have to be willing to lose in democratic elections.
Right now, the GOP is diseased. Trump and MAGA have to be expunged for us to get back to our democratic liberal republic (yes, we are all three).

Ive been hearing a fear canpaign about the border my entire life. Not once have i ever seen what the people actually working on the border think or say about the issue. Its always just politicians just yapping about what you *should* think.
Those of us who learn from history are forced to be dragged along with those who didn't. It's getting tiring.

I’m scared about my daughters friends. My daughter and her friends are 20 years old. They can vote. I talked to a couple of them and one said that they think that Trump is cool and the other said that the United State’s employment was higher when Trump was in office.

Many of the younger people idolize money. What they haven't learned is that money does not equate to the character of the person that holds it. Sure there have been plenty of wealthy people that have done a lot more good with what they've got, that lady that donated a billion to the college in New York for one, but there are far more that are just greedy good-for-nothings. People they see have what they think is an easy road to wealth which is not the case, oftentimes it is gained through nefarious efforts. That being said, sometimes it's just the squeaky wheel that gets the most attention whether good or bad. What the matter is in this instance it is for the worst to have somebody speak so boldly while being so very wrong. He cannot do this without being that person that would use force to get people to sway towards his wishes, people that threatened that kind of force have no business insisting people be on their side.
