  • Yep, it's Jojen Paste theory - but not like you've ever tasted before. Brand new evidence will have you believing Bran can fly - but only by eating his friend.

    I think the saddest part of this theory (which I believe is true) is that Jojen KNEW when he was going to die, he knew he was going to be a sacrifice in order to awaken Bran's powers, you see how he becomes more and more depressed in the tree cave because he knows his life will soon be ended.

      To me it seems like more like the white stuff is actually ground weirwood… something (seeds? Acorns? Who knows) and the red streaks through it is Jojen’s blood. In this case Bran is taking in weirwood elements to help “wed him to the trees” and Jojen’s blood is simply the sacrifice that pays for that magic to take place. Bloodraven specifically denies that the paste will make him a green seer (which fits with the idea of Jojen’s blood in the paste containing green magic that Bran absorbs), Bloodraven says “your blood makes you a Greenseer.” He’s always had the gift, Jojen’s is just the price in a blood sacrifice that will pay for the awakening of Bran’s green magic

    The Children are borderline demonic lol... There are tons of hints to it... I know the show is different from the books, but the ending of the show essentially illustrates that the 3 eyed raven is a warg/greenseer that had the powerful ability to fully warg not just into animals, but also into strong minded humans. It warged into Brynden Rivers, and then it warged into Bran. Bran at the end of the show is not Bran, and Brynden Rivers was no longer Bloodraven. The children basically played a long game of chess and took back their lands in a very clever way. The person/thing that ended up sitting on the iron throne was one of the most powerful children of the forest.

      @@theaansel8738 Bloodraven got warged into by the three eyed raven. The three eyed raven did not start with Bloodraven. It is a powerful warg, most likely one of the greenseer children. Bloodraven and Bran were already wargs, so they were suitable replacement bodies for the "raven". Once Bran's body gets old, it will lure another person to warg into.
      They even tell you that "the raven" holds the memories and knowledge of many ancient people/seers. It is all knowing. Bran's body and blood is not Targaryen, but it doesn't matter. The children just need a human body to sit the throne and be accepted. Why do you think Bloodraven knew so much about children's magic/rituals and worked so closely with them? He was one of them(warged). The Children are the most powerful beings in that world.

    I should also point out that "weir" in weirwood sounds the same as "vir" or "man" in Latin. Awesome video. I think GRRM also introduced a cannibalism moment, albeit more subtly, w/Rickon in AGOT. After Shaggydog bites Maester Luwin, it says:
    Rickon patted Shaggydog's muzzle, damp with blood. "I let him loose. He doesn't like his chains." He licked at his fingers.
    Did Shaggy lick Rickon's fingers, or did Rickon lick his own fingers? If the latter is true, Rickon essentially drank Luwin's blood. I always find this super creepy.
    This passage also has me wondering if Rickon was actually who Jojen was looking for as Rickon's wolf was the only one we're told was literally bound to earth by chains. But that's here nor there I suppose.

    Think about it, the trees are connected to each other (via mycelium), the trees are a source of visions and hallucinations (much like shrooms) and I suspect the reason that the Three Eyed Raven is stuck in the tree not because he impaled himself on it, but rather it sprouted from him. I suspect that Green Seers are infected with this fungus, and it provides them abilities in a semi-dormant state, however, overtime, the infection begins to overtake the man. Well «weirwood seeds» could literally be a metaphorical term for any worg, skinchanger, singer. After all weirwood trees seam to be the source of green wizards powers , which could mean they are the children of the weirwood trees , and what are the children of trees !? Seeds ! Jo was a green wizard, so he was a child of weirwoods therefore he was «weirwood seeds» ! I should probably continue to watch the video, I am sure this analogy was been better explained in it at some point !

    It's pretty much confirmed by Jojen's death in Game of Thrones. They didn't want to do Jojen paste in the show, so they killed him off outright instead of having him be missing.

  • @carlisledianne9042
    @carlisledianne9042 Před 4 lety +34

    Nope, not Jojen paste! I absolutely agree that the foreshadowing for Bram eating Jojen is there however I don't think he's in the paste. We establish in the vision that Bran knows what blood tastes like, as his life flowed out of him Bran could taste the blood. He says the paste tastes bitter and compares it to acorn paste. Not to mention it is white, so at most there's just a splash of Jojen, but I still think Bran would have tasted it. But my biggest reason to disagree is the parallel with the shade of the evening! Both are psychedelics that change from icky to tasty as you drink, and they come from trees with opposite colors. They are clearly parallel substances so I think they are both from trees. Although if they needed to sacrifice Jojen to put his green dream power into the paste, that covers the sacrifice, and maybe once Bran has learned more he will willingly eat Jojen

    I wonder which part of Jojen was used since the bowl obviously didn’t have the whole thing, the heart does have some connotations regarding vitality and power, and the brain is mush enough that it probably wouldn’t be too hard to turn into paste, would need some food coloring to hide the grey color though.

    • @DavidLightbringer
      @DavidLightbringer  Před 3 lety +3

      I’m thinking it was Jojen brains yeah

    • @sadrien
      @sadrien Před rokem

      Fresh brains actually look white-pink, not grey. Especially young brains. The gray-ness is only very slight. It also has rivers of red running through it.
      The taste does not match. Brains taste like cream and butter and pork and cod liver all combined (although I've never had human brain, it's made of similar components to pig and lamb brain). Cod liver is a rather mild fishy taste. That overlapping fishy taste comes from oxidized long chain omega 3 fatty acids, especially the DHA in the brain.
      But the CotF have powerful magic. They could easily alter the taste, or at least Bran's perception. This also means that in order for the paste to be a werewood seed paste (ie the children telling the truth, which they seem to always do) the were wood trees have to be made of people. Or they could have simply seasoned it with weird plants, brain is mild in flavor, and also magic is going.

    As you say we don't know what Weirwood seeds look like or if they even exist, it's said Garth the Green planted Weirwoods but again no details on how he did that. Perhaps Bloodraven and the children didn't lie to Bran so much as exclude details about the paste. It could be made of Weirwoods seeds if corpses, or greenseers in particular are somehow used to plant Weirwoods. Jojen, and perhaps Meera as well, being the seeds. This would also make Garth the Green seem more like a conqueror than the merry 'too good to be true' Johnny Appleseed of Westeros that he's made out to be.

You have reveled many secrets and an overall understanding of ASOIAF, but I think more than that, you have discovered a way (Georges way rather) that each characters arc is laid out. And now that the story makes more sense we can guess at the many paths of the future ( when expectations are subverted it will be because their are so many options).

    This has been bugging me lately: "Your blood makes you a green seer" he means that generally. Everyone really thinks Jojen is the green seer, not Bran (due to the green eyes and green dreams) ...so "your blood makes you a green seer" could really mean Jojen and by eating Jojen, Bran indeed does take on his powers to be wed to the trees.
    I don't feel like simply eating paste (no matter who or what it's made of, lol) would be enough. Eating the frog boy was necessary.
