Invincible was incredible, never read the comments but was excited for it soon as I saw its reveal. Was even better than I expected and loved it.

It's been rumoured that season 2 is about the multiverse where Mark has to fight 12 versions of him self. Honestly one of thr beat comic stories ever
It will be even better if Kirkman can pull some strings, call in some favours and get Mark's trip to the 616 Marvel universe in there, what with it being cannon and all. Can't see it happening but damn that would be great.

I’d love if Invincible had an animation equivalent of Mark’s conversation with the comics artist regarding how the show is animated.

I appreciate you bringing up the animation in Invincible. I feel like most reviews aren't bringing it up. I hope they have a bigger budget in season 2 & 3 to polish things up a bit more.
The animation was one of the reasons I haven't started it. The other reasons are that it seems very much 'The Boys'-esque, and also I had read some wiki on some the characters and, trying not to spoil anything, but there was a particular event involving the main character (I think) that happens in it that really turned me off of giving it a shot.

It has amazing animation.
Honestly I had no issue with it, and I was watching on a big TV. (Then again I'm very accustomed to superhero animation lol). It was simple, but a good simple. The fights were perfectly impactful. In fact, the "average superhero animation" made the sudden serious scenes even more shocking that they happened, yet also not *too* real as to be off-putting if that makes sense.
I don't know if they were drunk for real, but this episode was hysterical. I loved it.
I went and saw the Meg in theaters I fell asleep and woke up to find that there was over half a movie left

I didn't know anything about Invincible before I watched the show. I was shocked by the end of the first episode and was hooked in for the rest of the season.
My biggest complaint is that the amazon description kinda gives the big twist away. I read the description that says "he discovers his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems" and when Nolan told Mark about Viltrum in the flashback, I was immediately like "oh, I bet he's actually there to take over the world"

@@user-ky9ou5dz9q It's in the first episode that he's evil, but we're not really sure why. The description made me guess the explanation he gave in the finale
@@hvz4ever but I think it was obvious to most everyone in the first episode. He makes this big speech to mark about how wonderful their race is, and in the same episode he slaughters the gaurdians without a second thought. I think that makes it pretty clear he was lying about the intentions of his race from the get go. I mean, not all the details, but the basic outline is pretty clear.
@@user-ky9ou5dz9q Yeah, as soon as he was like "we make planets better!" I knew they were an invading species. Also when he goes through he portal and says something like, "Earth isn't yours to conquer." Seemed pretty cut and dry to me at that point.
Has anyone else noticed that Mason's vocal stylings are very similar to Abed in Community?

In the movie? JK Simmons is getting too old to play the part, i know i know hes ripped and they could use cgi to make him look younger but its never the same. Omni-man looks like hes in his 40s at the latest

Invincible was great. I knew what I was getting into before I watched, and I still wasn't prepared. I began watching less as a superhero show, and more like a horror show. I went into every episode just expecting the worst things to happen, I never trusted anyone, even the main characters, to last the episode. I had greater unease with Omniman than I did with Homelander.
Same. He’s somehow even worse here then in the comics
Kirkman is a better writer than Ennis too tbf. Not that Ennis is bad but he slips into Edgelord territory way too much.
I personally love the crazy bit in He-Man where Teela is baffled by these stolen rations being on white sticks. And it's the grizzled vet Man-at-Arms that realizes that they are eating a dead animal. It's just a tiny thing but it really set the tone of how different (and presumably advanced even wartorn) Eternia is.

I think the greater threat that Loki helps the TVA with is..... Loki. I think that another Loki variant from an alternate universe is causing even more trouble so they plucked a displaced Loki from the alternate MCU timeline to help.
I think if there were 2 big blockbusters going head to head it would draw in a lot more viewers (like Dune vs Avatar 2 or Eternals)

I wish they wouldn’t have made him the villain in Doctor Strange because I really wanted Madds Mikkelsen Dr. Doom
I don't think his role in Dr. Strange disqualifies him from playing Dr. Doom. For one, how many people in the general audience would even notice? Plus, they've had several people play multiple characters in the MCU (albeit not 2 separate main villains, but Doom wears a mask a lot of the time anyways). And I don't think the MCU is above tying the characters together and re-writing the background story a bit to say that this one magic user who was the bad guy in Dr. Strange turns out to be Dr. Doom.

I've been waiting for and dreading this episode, how much do they spoil from the comics when talking about the show?
They give you a really clear out when to skip to the next section, you only miss about 10min of the ep.

Not quite, in Japan they *always* were part of continuity but never in the west, they aren't even owned by the same company, Hasbro own TF Diamond Select Toys owns Battle Beasts
You cannot have tom Holland full stop. In both the comic and the show mark is ASIAN. lol
And the fight is different with him killing the gaurdians. BUT it does not at all imply they powered him down. In the comic, there is an alternate future where the gaurdians win agaisnt Omni man with marks help. So they absolutely can damage him and do in the comic.
And in the comic Nolan does go out of his way to kill people. He does the same thing, same scene and everything, where he throws invincible into a large building. Killing hundreds. And that's the whole "LIAR" scene taken straight out of the comics. And he Nolan taughts him over it the same way as well. The train scene was added though
He absolutely does care. And that's made rather clear. He's lying to himself the entire time. Nolan is trying to convince himself of what he's saying as much as mark.
It's also why he was upset that mark had powers. His orginal hope was to be able to live a full human life cycle with mark and his wife. But when he finds out marks powers, he knows he will be around when he inevitably takes over the planet. So there's no getting away from it anymore.

@@symbiote1982pk I like Chadwick Bozeman. And it sucks he passed away. But I'm not sure you should just be rewarded with something like that, just because you died. Heath ledger for example, deserved that Oscar for his performance in the dark knight before his death. So it made sense then.

My only real issues with Invincible are Amber, because I'm old, and when shows portray High School romances as important my cynicism kicks in and I want to scream "You probably won't even remember her name in 3 years! Who cares?!". The other is the inconsistent power levels, I have no idea why Omni-man can take out the Guardians, trounce Immortal, and punch Mark half way across the country, but a few gangly cyborgs are any kind of distraction? I just need a reason, even if its dumb or doesn't make sense.
Well the three cyborgs were very strong. Together they kicked the shit out of Mark. I find it possible they could distract Omniman for a bit.
The metal the robots are made of resonates with the same frequency as his inner ear causing immense pain when struck making combat difficult.
