How dare the US Air Force at Aviano interrupt the Pasinis? We should teach them a lesson! Eating cheese with a beautiful stone wall background and church bells ringing...what a vibe. Even though I grew up in Switzerland and so I'm biased to say Swiss cheeses are the best, it doesn't take long to see why Italy is the cheese capital. No country is prouder of its food than Italy! Italy is the country with the highest variety of cheeses in the world, with over 2,500 traditional varieties, among which are about 500 commercially recognized cheeses and more than 300 kinds of cheese with protected designation of origin. From Gorgonzola to Montasio and Burrata, there's an Italian cheese for everyone!
thats cool that you got recognized in the cheese shop
Cheese comes from the Latin word caseus, which in turn comes from a Proto-Indo-European word that means "to ferment, become sour”. When Romans made hard cheeses for their legionaries' supplies, they called it formaticum, and it is from this word that formaggio in Italian and fromage in French comes from.
There is no conclusive evidence indicating where cheesemaking originated. Earliest proposed dates for the origin of cheesemaking range from around 8000 BCE, when sheep were first domesticated. However the earliest evidence of cheesemaking in the archaeological record dates back to 5500 BCE and was found in what is now Kuyavia, Poland. Meanwhile ancient Greek mythology credited Aristaeus with the discovery of cheese.
Great video as always! My favorite Italian cheese is Crucolo from Trentino. Our local cheese shop in Concord, MA imports a 400 lb wheel every year and parades it through the streets for the Crucolo Festival, free cheese samples for everyone!
That stone wall in the background is incredible.
GRAZIE mille my grandfather did
@@ThePasinis He's extremely talented! So beautiful!
Hey guys, I know the work on the table your grand father has made. I have one out side in my patio. My late husband worked with marble, tiles ,and terrazzo. It takes skills to make such beautiful things. I live in Canada, provincia dell'Alberta Edmonton City.ciao.
They go to the best places
This is my first time watching a full vlog of yours. I’d seen a couple of shorts and this one hooked me in. The church bell’s, beautiful stone wall in the background, birds chirping, a little bit of rain. The perfect setting. All of the cheeses look so delectable.
Il campanile vicino a casa mia suona ogni15 minuti e 3 o4 volte al giorno si abbandona a scampanii assordanti che durano anche 5 minuti .penso che prima o poi sparero' con un fucile alle campane.
Oh, what a wonderful video! There is so much I can say because I love Italian cheese. Just last night at 3AM I made myself some chicken and pasta with Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. That cheese is always in my kitchen since I was a child. Alessio, your family and their home warms my heart. The best moment for me, in the video, was when Jessi made the sign of the cross after Alessio almost dropped the cheese. As so many people have said, you make me feel like I am right there with dear friends. Thank you, so much! I love you both.
I so much enjoy your content. I was stationed in the Puglia region in the 80s and early 90s at San Vito Dei Normanni and miss my time in Italy. You bring back so many memories with your content. I stayed in trouble with the US Air Force for my weight while stationed there. 😂
Fabulous video! I was salivating watching you taste all of those cheeses. Running in and out of the rain was a few laughs too. Love you both; so sweet and loving on camera.
Absolutely loved this video! It's very refreshing and spontaneous and... I'm getting hungry!
I'm Italian, born and raised in Sardinia. We have many good cheeses here, but I have to admit I still have to taste some of the cheeses in your video. Good work! Loved it!
"I feel like I'm having a picnic right now" that's Jessi's British heritage shining through 😆Sure certain cheeses may smell fouler than others but of course, what matters is the taste, and more people should learn to give things a chance. Here's some Montasio history: It's named after the Montasio plateau, and the cheese has been made there since 1200! The first production techniques were refined at the abbey of San Gallo di Moggio Udinese. In the 1880s, a cooperative movement of dairies was formed to support the cheese's production. And a century later in 1987, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests assigned the Montasio Producers Association the tasks of control and marketing of Montasio production (after being awarded DOP in 1986).
Kudos to Portugal and Mexico for also making it in the top ten at 2:32! Oaxaca is a very good cheese, perfect for a nice quesadilla with a good stretch. It became a thing thanks to friars introducing the string cheese process to Mexico! Serra da Estrela cheese on the other hand comes from the highest mountains of mainland Portugal and like Italian cheeses, it is a PDO/DOP. It is made using the milk of two rare sheep breeds called Bordaleira da Serra da Estrela and Churra Mondegueira. Cheesemaking in this region dates all the way back to 1287 when King Dinis created the first cheese market in the rustic Celorico da Beira located in the heart of Serra da Estrela. And Portuguese explorers brought the cheese on board as a sustainable and nutritious source
The bell, the stone backdrop in both scenes. I want to got to Italy! The way y’all react n describe the flavors makes me feel like I know how it taste lol😂🙏 Bravo!
all the mosaics behind us are made by my grandfather! all my house it is made with mosaics and I love the bells too so relaxing
i've been to italy long ago, even going there fior a week is worth it
This is great!
Love the video
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!
5:08, nice save there Alessio:))) The cheese selection looks so good! The goat cheese is my favourite. It smells very strong but is one of the healthiest products out there full of probiotics. Maybe we can see the salumi taste test as well. I am sure you both have spent Easter together before in Italy but it is such a special time of the year and it has a culinary uniqueness in each European country. It is one of the best times to be at home and spend it with the family. Buona Pasqua!
Enjoyed you each, your nonna, Italy, the stone mural, the cheeses, the bells, and the rain! Thank You!
Loved this guys! Also with the chaos. You should have had some wine pairing to this 😎 Happy easter 🐰🐣
Oh! looked so good. Thanks for sharing. :)
The bird sounds and setting is amazing!
Wow, I learned so much!! As always!! Fun!!! Love you both!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
We’re so glad! We love you too! 🫶
Love all your videos!!! Anyway, the little "crunchy" bits in the aged Parmigiano Reggiano are proteins that form as the cheese ages.
what a busy video 😂😂 much love guys
So FUNNNNNNNNN! Hilarious they recognized you guys. Great video 🧀🥰
Its funny hearing the rain falling on the cheese wrappers. 🧀🌧I LUVVVVV STINKY CHEEEESE
You have to try Delice de Bourgogne. It is like butter and you can spread it on crusty bread. Mont d'Or is also wonderful cheese.
Love how dedicated you two are making the video, through the rain, bells, family etc. The cheeses looked so delicious, I would probably like the four you picked. I do not like moldy cheeses or ones with too strong of a smell/taste. Beautiful background too, so glad you have been enjoying your time away.
This is absolutely wonderful; the backdrops, the cheese and salumi store, and the taste tests. Please, please, please do more like this. I want to go to Italy and see the cheese and salumi and wine made and then go on taste tests of them. Molto bene!
I think everyone would enjoy meeting your grandfather and seeing all of his mosaics! And a tour of the mosaic school where he learned his craft❤
Lovely saying about cheese at the end. And great video, chaos or not, the courtyard was beautiful.
Can't wait to try italian cheeses when i go to Italy this coming October. Thank you for your video.
You had me at the blue goat's milk cheese! Love Blue cheese and Goats milk cheeses the most! Stilton, Brie and Boucheron are my fav's. But love mozzarella and ricotta!
Pecorino is my absolute favorite. I also like manchego (Spain), but it's also cheese made from sheep's milk, so that makes sense. Love this episode.
I love all types of cheeses years ago when I visited mia Nonna before she passed we used to get all kinds of cheeses like you guys did!
The one area where Italian cuisine falters is cheese - not because it's bad but because it doesn't hold the level of importance in Italy as cheese does in France or the UK. I love _armesan, Gorgonzola, Burrato, Pecorino Romano and Tagliatelle. Americans miss the Cheddar family. French miss the double and triple cream families.
. Love the picnic and flirting!
Totally agree
I enjoyed that. I've never heard of some of them & probably couldn't afford them. My go to cheese in Canada is very extra old cheddar. The more years the better. It has to crumble not be bendy. And have a strong bite.
As always, so informative! If I ever travel to Italy, I’ll definitely save a day for eating cheese! 😂
Yum!! You should do cheese/ food paring with wine 🍷
Happy Easter Guys 🐣
Happy Easter 💙❤️🫶🫶🙏🙏
I love cheese and this looks very good. The table top and wall behind you s beautiful. So cool you were recognized 🤗🤗
Nice! I’d love to tasting alongside you both. Tried some Muenster cheese from France; could not get beyond the smell!
I love cheese & to see the different varieties from there was so cool. I’m so jealous, wish I was there with you.
Hi, I just started following you and love your videos! I love cheese so much, I will have to see if I can find some of the cheeses that you try.
Grazie mille per l"iscrizione! e' un piacere arti qui con noi❤️
The sound of the rain hitting the paper was soooooo soothing
it isssss so relaxing !
Buona Pasqua PAsinis.
Un bel assaggio di sapori nostrani ❤
Love it!!
Thank you!!
THIS WAS YOUR MOST PRECIOUS VIDEO !!!
Y’all are such a sweet couple. Wishing you the best back here in Texas
this was such a fun video to watch.. and maybe a little fig jam or apple wedge would make the more challenging cheeses a little easier to enjoy..
Exactly what I should be doing at 2am, watch this video..
Ciao ragazzi, siete sempre braavissimi divertenti!
I miss Italy 🇮🇹 so so much!! The bells 🔔💚💚💚💚😭
❤❤❤ this video made me cry!!!!! Living in Amerika, I miss the church bells!!!! Thank you for the video
Those cheeses are so affordable 💜
Yes!! Every time we visit Italy, our first stop is to load up on cheese 😂
No wonder people in the Mediterranean live longer lives. High quality food, religion, big on family. I highly respect and admire the italian culture and their principles.
Alessio and Jessi that's a lotta cheese.
My favourite cheeses that I used to eat with my father were friulano and caciocavallo. There was another one, I remember it being a bit strong but very good. I wish I could remember the name.
Do you have any recommendations on must try places for pizza and pasta in Rome?
Cutting cheese with steak knife. Paisan, where is your cheese knife. I loved the rain it makes your videos so authentic.
Yes, I agree with another comment that it was so cool you 2 b were recognized. And with admiration. But now, to the cheese😊
Nice save Alessio
By the way thumbs-up for your beautiful background. Just gorgeous. Thank you both for the cheese education....😅❤

Sempre più carini!
Grazie mille!! 🙏
You can hear the American air force. Are you near Aviano? When I lived and worked in Beograd 1986 and 87 we would take the car train to Aviano.
in the ranking of the top 10 best cheeses in the world 8 are Italians!! wow 🇮🇹 😍 now after your video everyone will order online from Tosoni hahah
I like the background especially with Sydney's Opera House.
all the mosaics behind us are made by my grandfather!
Wondering what area you guys are in? It looks like a beautiful part of Italy I've never been!
Cheese is life👌
🙌
Nothing in the world smells as good as an Italian cheese shop - Arthur Ave in the Bronx too!
Do you have the link to the cheese shop where one can order from?
The back ground is the most beautiful. You have ever had wow,I love cheese too,I make fresh Alfredo. So good creamy tangy goodness,I take bell pepper ROMA tomatoes mu chroom, oil cook, bske chichen,,pour over. And serve over pasta penne. Top with Parmigiano. Well the best....

Me too 😂
😂 don’t hate us! France has wonderful cheese too! 🫶
@@ThePasinis we cannot hate a Frenchie 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too, the best cheese is THE FRENCH CHEESE ! 😂
I very much doubt France has the best cheeses.
Maybe you could do some dishes with them.
You are so gloriously normal, I love it! No pretense ❤ (even tho your cheeses are the best in the world!)
Awww now I want to eat them all too 😅😅😅❤❤❤❤
When I was little I really loved Carnia Cheese!
Happy Easter guys. Italians do cheese and wine right. When I lived in Sicily, before I had car Id fix my Italian friends tacos and I would ride a bike over ten k in mountains to get the younger softer one for tacos .would have to ride opposite direction to US naval base Sigonella only place then could find them. Stii drive hour to get the real stuff
American military planes in the background. You're welcome. Can't wait to do Italy. Going to the boot
Cheese number five is the excellent Oaxacan cheese ;)
I love the idea of old world smelly and stinky cheese. I wish I liked them. I don’t think I even had old cheddar until I was an adult. I keep trying them to try to increase my acceptance.
The cheese factory where I live in oregon went to bergamo Italy and won grand champion for their rogue river blue cheese, so what I'm saying is yall need to come check it out, there's also a chocolate factory attached to the creamery
wow! we definitely come to Oregon
@Jessi & Alessio there's so much to do around here especially during summer, there's the Shakespeare festival, and you should check out lithia park in Ashland oregon
You should have gone to Gorgonzola near Milano.
I live in Castelnovo and I LOVE Tosoni!! They have the best yogurts!!
We always have to get some of their cheeses every time we’re in Italy! We will try their yogurt next time!!
@@ThePasinis It’s a must!! The orange and ginger is chefs kiss! 🤌
My Dad is from Sicily. His favorite cheese is Provolone. And he absolutely detests Brie (which I always have at Christmas)! 🤣
do they not have patio umbrellas in Italy?
I do love cheese - but the all the mosaics at your Mom's, wow! Close up and descriptions of those too, I hope. The story behind them too. Were they done recently?
the mosaic was made by my grandfather, like the table you see in the video
Beautiful home!
@@ThePasinis Your Grandfather is an amazing artisan - another beautiful quality Italy has, so much to be proud of... the pieta dura, mosaics, art glass... incredible beauty
how can we order and ship to Texas
I love cheese
The cheese combination in the jar is interesting. Is it a local thing? I tried to see the name.
You needed a bottle of french wine with all that wonderful cheese 😂
There are fine top notch wines in Friuli.
As an American who spent years in England I consider British Cheddar to be high on a list of great cheeses. Then again my frame of reference is very limited lol
Sicuramente limitato😂
I love 💕 cheese 🧀🤗💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Try the Castelmagno,it's wonderful!
5 year old parm- delicious
There is best cheeses in many european countries...Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and so on! I love them all
Galloping Gourmets
I'm really craving the "goat gorgonzola"... Love stinky cheese!
