    Hey there everyone, I'm an old biker riding since 1980.... I've just picked up a Ryker Rally 900 and need to sell my star cruiser. Why I can barely walk, and can't hold my two wheels up. Medical issue with both feet. My solution a triple,triple- 3 wheels, 3 cylinders and powerfully smooth....back on the road again. Breath in' easy.

      Let's know how u like the rally when it comes out

    • @PatriotNC1
      @PatriotNC1 Před 5 lety +2

      @@jamespugh Fantastic! No regrets. I got the passenger seat/pegs as well so you can ride two-up if you want to. Also got the windshield which cuts down on some of that wind into your chest. That's a good investment, I think. Like Erik said, the bike is planted on the ground, has very good power, and the braking is very good. It's not a grabby brake like a Brembo, but a little more progressive. In Eco mode you have all your traction and vehicle controls on. It also controls throttle response so you can't bang it wide open. When you go to Sport mode, it reduces the traction and vehicle controls and gives you all the throttle response you want. The tech at my dealer said it will make some "evil" donuts! The Rally mode is wide open. No traction or vehicle controls. You can drift the bike if you know how to do it, as Erik said. The Rally has the upgraded KYB suspension, and I think it is worth the extra money. I don't think this is a cross country-interstate bike, but for local interstate, towns, cities, and like where I live... the mountains.... it's a great choice. From what others are telling me, this bike gets about 200 miles to a tank of gas. Pretty cheap to fill up. It's not a rolling couch like a Honda Goldwing, but it's a helluva lot of fun, man. Erik's review convinced me to buy one, and he was right about all that he described. We've had some bad weather for weeks, and it's not allowed me much seat time. But we're supposed to clear up and I'm going to get on the road more with it. But so far, I'm really happy with it. - C.J.

      @OtterFlys Před 5 lety

      I have the Rally and get 30 - 33 mpg on hiway. Gets as low as 23 when playing hard. The CVT does cost some efficiency, keeps the engine turning around 6000 at cruise, too bad it doesn't have an overdrive gear for hiway use, the 900 could definitely pull a taller gear and get better fuel economy.

      The Rally I bought has a higher (and adjustable) suspension which is great on rougher roads. Plenty of power too. One thing I notice is that cruising at 65 - 70 feel totally satisfying but riding a Kawi 650 at the same speed feels boring. The Ryker has probably saved me a speeding ticket or two.

The ROTAX engine is a proven design, and larger designs are even used in light aircraft. I have friends who have Can-Am Spyders and love them. And I think it's a little early to be judging the Ryker, it only shipped off production December 1, 2018. It's not been out there that long. If you don't own one, then how would you know? I'm very happy with mine, and I bought the first one in my state.
