I was surely cheering him on with the last things he was saying until judge Lynn had to get on him about talking too much. That is his problem and I see why his wife rather not communicate with him. I can see if he does ask her what she wants and what she's thinking the moment she responds he probably interrupts her to get out his thought which can aggravate a person. I know this all too well. My husband and I have gone three this faze too. But instead of going out with friends I'd go in the kitchen and work on my mannequins(I'm a beautician ).
