Bin Jahrgang 1957 und kann da nur bestätigen das es die beste Zeit war.. Diese Zeit war so geil, sie hätte nie vergehen dürfen, und heute ist man alt und weiß, die Zeit ist gnadenlos.
This atmosphere is exactly how I remember the 70's. The girl is stereotypical in looks, but exceptional in singing. Amazing, magical time. And god, do I miss it!

Einen genialen Keyborder, einen Superschlagzeuger, Bass und Leadguitarre , dazu die einmalige Stimme von Inga..im perfekten Zusammenspiel...was braucht es mehr fuer einen kongenialen Auftritt , hundert Mal gehört..nimmt mich immer wieder mit auf eine Reise in die Vergangenheit...
I never saw this until now Aug. 29,2023. Wow! I remember the group name but never pursued them, totally forgot the name until these Frumpy CZcams clips. How so very sweet....sweet guitar, sweet female voice. My life is passing me by and it is music like this, from that teen era in my life, which makes me very much appreciate the days of my youth which were days far different than these later days of my life, and which if I could do them all over again I would do them different, there would be more appreciation of them, more taking advantage of those young moments in my life! The beauty of youth, in its many forms, comes but only once in life, and it is music like this, from that era of my life, which reminds me of that!

I often vacillate between the "what-ifs", and the fact that, hey - I may have missed a few things here or there but I'm still here now, and I can reach back and enjoy some things I wasn't able to earlier. Like for example - I'm going to see Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson) next week, and I am Stoked!!! 😁
It's Oct. 29, 2023 and Wow! This is the first time I've come across Frumpy. Back in the 1970s I was a student and well into progressive music/rock. Like Charlie's my life is also passing me by and this video takes me back when there were many smaller venues where one could see/hear some excellent groups.
I've always said, the 70's was the best decade for rock, prog, and early metal than all decades before, past, and present. Ever.
As the decades go by, that is becoming more and more a fact.

Wenn man diesen Song in dieser grandiosen Live-Fassung hört, weiß man sofort, warum Frumpy und allen voran Inga Rumpf solch einen klingenden Namen in der deutschen Rock-Musik hatten.

Zu meiner Zeit eine Hymne.
Diese Performance ist noch besser als jene auf dem Album. Die Darbietung ist Zeugnis der Lebensfreude ihrer Protagonisten. Deren hervorgebrachte Virtuosität setzte Maßstäbe, die wahrscheinlich von den meisten damals an Musik Interessierten gar nicht wahrgenommen wurden.

Frumpy is indeed an out of time state of the art band, not only because of the excepcional voice of her gifted singer Inga Rumpf but also for the excellent talent of all of their musicians. I spend nice times listening to them because they are absolutely brilliant. Frumpy are wellknow, loved and revered by hundreds of fans of classic hard rock, progressive and blues bands troughout the world tresspasing therefore the frontairs of Germany because of their inmense quality.
Inga was sexy in her way (spooky tooth and all) that would have been her trademark if she had blown up. What a voice

Simply: they didn’t want it. They despised the „success“ and the mainstream.
As a musician, I have to say Jean and Inga had something special in them, but nothing in the rest of the band, they were good obviously. But all the talent doesn't matter if the management behind the band hasn't got the right contacts and material background what pushes the whole thing to the success. All bands have a lifespan...

To me is a spectacular interesting how people from different backgrounds, different lives and very often from different continents can be a brothers in music ! This is really something om goosebumps to have ! So, yes i confess I love Frumppy !

This is a masterpiece. The musicians are/were all first class Inga, Jean-Jacques, Rainer.... They were sacked by he american producers since they are germans although they were liked in the USA. Shame ! The music industry controls and does what ever t wants !

Wunderbare Musik mit viel Stimme und sehr guten Instrumenten. Einfach Zeitlos und immer und ewig einfach nur gut. Danke Inga und Band. Das war noch wirklich gute handgemachte Musik.

Diesen Hammertitel von Frumpy zum ersten Mal 1972 in der tiefen Ostzone auf Radio Luxenburg gehört. Einer der absolut geilsten Kunststücke aus der Welt der Rockmusik.
Wir haben es im Radio AFN gehört. Im tiefsten Osten, Land Brandenburg gehört.
Habe den Song auch zum ersten mal auf DDR Radio gehört, genau gesagt auf Radio11/96 im Urlaub in Dänemark.
Mir war nicht klar das Frumpy eine deutsche Band war..

hey mein Guter, dass kann ich bedenkenlos unterschreiben!!! Die Gruppe mit Inga habe ich live im Fantasio Dortmund live gesehen, boah man, wahnsinn. Gänsehaut, Taste, Yes, Steppenwolf, Man, Hardin & York, Focus etc.

Ich hatte mal das Vergnügen, Inga Rumpf persönlich an der Bar des Franz-Clubs kennen zu lernen. (Dies war allerdings lange nach 1971...) Eine sehr sympathische Frau ohne jede Star-Allüren! Dabei hat sie definitiv mit die interessanteste Stimme Deutschlands.
Dieser grandiose Song wird noch lange in Studentenclubs laufen wie damals auch bei uns.
Unglaublich was für eine Wucht immer noch in dieser Musik steckt. Danke Frumpy und Atlantis für diese geile Musik.👌

Ich hatte das Glück das mein papa in Schallplatten Sammler war und mir das alles beigebracht hat, so mega tolle Geschichte von City preachers,zum Atlantis, bis frumpy.
Und der sagte mir pass mal jetzt auf und aus der Schallplatte zieht er Eintrittskarte von damals 😁
Auch ich bin sehr dankbar, in jener Zeit aufgewachsen zu sein und Dank Frumpy habe ich mich gerade wieder wie 20 gefühlt...
Als Musik noch diese Bezeichnung zu recht trug. Die Zeit kommt nie wieder 😓

Ich war noch sehr jung, vielleicht 14/15. In Wismar gab es das "Betonwerk". Da bin ich immer hin und traf meine ältere Schwester dort, die sich immer über mich lustig machte, wenn ich vor Sehnsucht tanzte, um meiner Seelenqual zu entfliehen. Ich bin froh, dass es keine Drogen gab in Ossiland. Den Text habe ich gar nicht richtig verstanden, noch konnte ich Englisch, ausser den paar Floskeln, die man in der Schule lernte. Russisch war in, aber ich mochte Russisch auch sehr. Ich kenne die Bedeutung heute noch nicht, ist aber irgendsie psychedellic!

Die Zeiten waren hart vor allem für Jugendliche in der DDR, aber weiß Gott der Sound der späten 60ziger und frühen 70ziger war einfach göttlich.
How Gipsy was born gehörte zu den absoluten Krachern auf jeder Disko. Was für ein langweilige, substanzloser Scheiß, wird den Jugendlichen heute geboten.
Ich danke meinen Schöpfer dabei gewesen zu sein.

Frumpy.. das beste Beispiel dafür das ne Hammer Stimme und super Musiker allein nicht ausreichen um international erfolgreich zu sein.. Aber für ne deutsche Truppe waren sie schon echt Ausnahme zu der Zeit..👍
