I take points off for his lack of standing, not slapping the physical script on his legs and not bringing up cocaine.

Peter is the name of his plant so often when he is raving like a lunatic he’ll yell, “am I right Peter!?!?!” To which he’s yelling at and looking to his plant for validation. lol.

I howled at this, it was perfection. Kevin’s script, Simon’s rolling with the absurdity, Sam and Lorelei’s editing - everything was just glorious. Thank you to everyone involved for having a sense of humor and long may the Whistlerverse reign! I don’t comment often, because I watch CZcams on my TV and even if it were an option I don’t have the patience to use the freaking remote control to type out a comment one letter at a time. But I really appreciated this treat for the fans. So hey! Algorithm! Look, this made me break out something with a keyboard and engage! Show Simon’s videos to more people! They’re fun!

The fact that Kevin just got paid to roast his boss’s entire business is everything I needed on this Monday morning. Business/brain blaze will forever be my favourite channel of Simon’s. Haven’t laugh this hard at one of his videos in ages.

I feel like I was eavesdropping in on a coversation between Kevin and Simon.
And I loved it.
I started watching Simon's videos about a year ago, and this is a perfect example of why I've become a huge fan. The ability to laugh at yourself makes a person so much more relatable. Kudos to everyone!
I do have to say I have the same issue with the classics. I didn't have a problem with teachers asking what I thought the writer meant, but I did have an issue with them telling me my interpretations were wrong.
IMO the number one way to stomp out individuality/creativity is to ask for a personal opinion and then tell them that opinion is wrong.
I love these Brain Blaze videos. Been here since the beginning and still love everyone. Keep it coming Simon and all those that are chained in the basement!

Look, I have ADHD and boring educational videos are painful to me. I love learning even if it's something I already know about, so the videos from the Whistleverse are my cup of tea. I don't care if they not 100% original I care that they are well done and we'll researched and that's something Simon, his writers and his video editors should be super proud of. 😊 Your work is amazing.

Love the banter on the content use make and honest remarks reactions and opinions.
It plays out like real world conversations between friends so tangents going off topic and dark humor while also telling a story probably gives viewers the same feeling they get when hanging out with friends.

I rember when Kevin first started in decoding the unknown, blow it out of the park with his game style, moved to brain blaze and casual criminality...and somehow feels likes this was all an elaborate ploy to get here to this moment. And we all fell for it.

I'm a little mad that I didn't realize that Kevin was ending the section about unsolved mysteries that have unsatisfying endings, with an unsatisfying ending, but it seems Simon didn't get it at all so that makes me feel a bit better
I love how you now have the "trying to read the script" camera, and the "asides talking to the writers/audience" camera. Next Brain Blaze should be "The 10 times Simon Whistler and his basement writers made their audience laugh themselves to death"

I just need to say that the editing in this one is absolutely brilliant. The ghost was so well composited in I thought it was an actual prop, and the roasts in the memes and subtitles had me proper cackling multiple times. xD
If the writers are only writing about things they know, we would get lots of stories about kidnapping and cellar dwelling, but from the victim's perspective.
What's been driving me nuts is the upswing of AI narration in a lot of these genre channels (not Simon's videos of course).

Being able to have a laugh at your own expense and being super self aware makes it rather clear Simon isn't as narcissistic as he thinks and nowhere near as pretentious as certain channels in the infotainment space often are.
Besides, as long as there is nothing fabrication of information, finding more entertaining ways to get information to people is always a good thing.
There's far to many horribly uninformed and misinformed people out there.

Honestly I prefer Simons format for things like true crime and unsolved mysteries, specifically because they stick to the facts, look at everything with a skeptical eye, and don't veer wildly into conjecture. That's a problem a lot of CZcams channels have.
So weird to be falling asleep and hear Simon say he loves me (Peter).
Simon's moment(s) of self awareness as the self roast turns up the heat rank this as my favourite blaze yet. Simply brilliant writing from Kevin and perfect delivery form Simon.

6:27 Well, to be fair, in a case like that, sometimes they’re taking obvious cues from the crime scene. Like if there’s still a meal on the table, and time of death lines up with how long the food has been sitting out and if it’s still in their stomach. Or they’d spoken to a friend shortly before the incident and they say, “Ok, gotta go, lunch is ready,” and that’s the last anyone hears from them…
The difference is owning it and wearing on your sleeve. You are a legend for being honest and making fun of yourself shows character. ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!!

True crime videos where you commit the crimes are all over social media. They call them prank channels.
CZcams and social media is full of reuploaded clips from other creators with entire channels of "reactions" such as "slight chuckle" and "silent watching" so I'd say infotainment as a category is an acceptable alternative.

I've only known of your empire of channels for like three days at this point, but this video definitely got me subbed to this one. Once I manage to tear myself away from the Sideprojects videos I'll start checking out the other channels as well, so I'll probably be given up for dead quite soon.
i think the success of simon comes from giving us the ability to enjoy videos on various different generes we enjoy but with a presenter that we know for fact we're going to like and connect with.
Having laughed at the imprisoned writers jokes over the years, today I wonder if years in the future I'll watch a true crime video of the demented CZcamsr Simon Whistler & his basement of horrors.
As far as science/math videos vs. a school setting, I find the videos much more approachable. I hated History in High School for example, because of the way it was taught. They always just told us "The assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand was the catalyst for WWI", but no teacher was able to tell us why this was the case. They didn't know any more on the subject than what was written in the textbook. It wasn't until I came across some of Simon's videos on it that I actually understood why. I went to High School before the internet widely available. Our computer labs in school did not have internet access, so it was outdated textbooks or even more outdated reference books.
10:00 ... The Lady or the Tiger is generally agreed to be one of the most God-awful short stories in classic literature for this exact reason. The entire thing has this enormous and detailed buildup to the fateful decision of whether the hero will be forced to marry another woman in front of the woman he loves, or commit suicide by tiger. And the ending is literally "And so I leave it with all of you: which came out of the door--the lady, or the tiger?"

The killer on the greyhound was on the same run as I was, but the previous departure, I was very disconcerted to find out about it when I got off the bus in Montreal. The even crazier part was that my ex, who was with me on the bus had worked for the same carnival amusement company as the victim.
