Dude those 360 camera views showing shenanigans during the laps are great!
My 2022 model 3 P has been non stop fun for the last 2 years/ 50,000miles. Been through 3 sets of tires , and only 6% battery degradation in that time. One very important thing for anyone get a performance. Do not turn on track mode on regular streets. One thing you run the risk of losing control and sliding into a curb or a tree or another car. The other thing is it does not make it faster in a drag race.!!! in fact it might make it slower . Track mode is not drag mode so you start to cool down the battery when you’re in track mode, which is not ideal if the battery is already cold. A warm 110°F is perfect for drag racing. so you might actually supercharge your car beforehand or prime the car for super charging by setting it into your destination and the battery will actually begin to warm up to ideal warm battery temperatures for drag race. I guess if you lived in a very hot Summer city you wouldn’t need to do any of that and just let the outside summertime air heat the battery for you for drag racing .
When you’re on the track, you don’t have the problem of warming the battery because one lap should warm it up pretty good then you might actually start to overheat the battery which is where the track mode is useful cooling the battery. Also regen is turned off to prevent additional heat or energy going back into the battery, causing more heat and overheating. FYI There’s a difference between track day and drag racing day.
Spot on, excellent information. Also great to hear it’s only 6% degradation given that usage
Really good advice, thank's
amazing that this do everything car even exists! ...just incredible what the Tesla team has accomplished in all areas they choose to provide products and solutions
Im getting mine in the next few weeks here, I CAN'T WAIT!!! This video was so fun! keep up the good content!
Congrats 🎉
btw .regen should be set to off when on track
Jeeez that things super fast on the straights 😮
That rear view of the acceleration looked insane!! 25:00
Looks like you weren't pushing the car at all, you just give it the beans on the straight to overtake people. You're just cruising behind the cars in front most of the time. You didn't track the car. You drove the car on a track.
Big difference.
Thats what all Teslapromoters do. If he would push it properly, it would overheat and reduce power.
This Model 3 Perfomance is destroying everyone! Tesla finally gave us what we wanted.
And it is only going to get better. The battery weight will come way down and everything else will go even further up.
czcams.com/video/M6_LN0uzPZY/video.htmlsi=FA7fk9dlqi0GkpTt not good in Europe
It also needs better brakes, stock brakes are overheating fast
LOL
It actually needs fully charged battery to perform as expected. This easily degrades when SOC goes down. Battery overheats fast, brakes fade away. This car is actually a danger on track or when driven spirted on an autobahn. It will be smoked easily by any ICE with AWD and comparable hp.
Nothing can touch your Ludicrous ⚡️🇺🇲
Electric American Muscle #1
U would never see an American muscle car owner comparing his car to a model 3 tesla. U people are delusional 😂
@@G82Watts Why not? I have had muscle cars since I owned a 69 phase 3 z28 with console delete, no mufflers (chambered pipes from the factory) no silly hidden headlights, endura bumper, no radio, 2 holly 3 barrel carbs, factory headers, and hollow bolts throughout (you never did see the special dealer option lists did you?) But my next car is going to be a model 3 performance. You sir are the one who is delusional if you think any car anywhere on earth can match this car at anywhere near this price.
@SkyRiver1 Exactly, and the OP didn't say anything about comparing it to a muscle car, he just said it is an Electric American Muscle Car.
Fantastic work on the video! Exciting to watch. Love the 360 camera work. Great job man! Hope you had fun.
@@Evolve2112 thank you!! It was a great experience
Thatl looks fun! Thanks for sharing. The acceleration looks intense 😂
This car is built different!
Insane track day! I kept rooting for you to pass up all the cars. It’s crazy how easy it is to lose control. Question is how many other M3Ps?
Appreciate it man 🙏
@@officialmichaeltanso far your vids are awesome good luck on the continued success. Looking forward to the dyno
@@BlueElectricityTesla The car has more flexibility to let you lose control how you want haha. I left minimal stability assist on. When I did oversteer once and the rear started sliding, I made a small wheel correction and the car just snapped back in place real good
Outstanding !!! Thanks!
unfortunately the battery overheates pretty fast, the cooling is strong but not enough to endure a real push
This is a good representation to what a newer driver should expect on track. It doesnt just overheat for everyone. Id say more people will probably have this experience rather than the overheating that really fast drivers experience.
would've definitely been cooler to see you reproduce your lap that you did in the beginning in GT7! hahaha
Great video man!
You can do track time by selecting the start mark on the nav and map out the track layout in warm up lap. Quite cool feature of track mode
I guarantee this thing is pumping out that 500+ hp! I remember Tesla trying to say the Model Y performance put out 430 or so. Multiple times it was dynoed around 530hp to the wheels. That with the instant 500tq or so, makes it a truly wicked vehicle on the track.
@@Deetroiter can’t wait to dyno this thing
On the dyno it has 600+Hp
@@officialmichaeltan already done. 610 to 620hp i read somewhere. Tesla lying to us.
@@HermanWillemsI believe that as well. Case in point, the heavier 670hp MS LR is trapping around 128-130mph.
Such a great job on this video. Looked like a fun day. So lucky to live near a track like Willow Springs, a track in every racing sim. Loved that you practiced on GT7 first :)
Thank you! So cool GT7 that had both the car and the track.
@@officialmichaeltan also you should look at getting the Enhance Auto S3XY buttons and or Knob in your car. Their app gives you a dashboard where you can show all the stats you’re missing like battery and motor temperatures. I love it
Tuesday is D day for me. Good video!

Observations:
1. The 2024 M3P's all-new adaptive damping system isn't doing y'all much good in cornering.
2. Cornering speeds in Clip-1, Clip-2, Clip-3 are practically identical to that of my 2024 MYP.
Note: Cornering performances are what separate the men from the boys... Just think that my stock 2024 MYP cornering performance was executed by me on the spur of the moment!
thanks for putting this together. All the turns are slightly different. Your clip and the others are pretty close to 90 degrees. The clip from this vid is just under 180 degrees (streets of willow springs turn 2). No turns on this track really compare to a stock 90 degree turn since this track you need to get on a certain side for the next turn pretty quickly.
@@officialmichaeltan Fair enough... again, cornering performances separate the men from the boys, as can be seen in GP races. Imagine I did it with a SUV, called MYP; not a want-to-be sport car, called M3P refreshed. lol
@@TuneupMagic MYP is for sure a great car
I really enjoyed your video, I plan on autocrossing mine when I get it. I think the 360 setup is great. Can you share attachments and cameras used? Keep up the great work!
Respect for putting your future car to use! Insta360x4 to get 360 shots + insta360 3 suction cup car mount. GoPro hero 12.

Nice!!! Great video!! How far was the nearest super charger 🔌? I am taking the 2024 M3P to Buttonwillow this Saturday & they have super chargers on track. I would love to get out to streets of willow / Big willow with the M3P.
Nice that sounds like a lot of fun! Streets of willow nearest charger is 20 minutes away but didn’t even have to use it. Only ran 3 sessions since it was so hot.
@@officialmichaeltan thanks for the info 🙌
Track testing? it feels like any bicycle would have done the lap quicker. Are there speed limits on that track? aren't you allowed to overtake?
Great video. Awesome camera views too! I have a Model 3 LR at the moment, but am hesitant to take it to the track due to brakes and lack of track mode. I scheduled a test drive of the Performance version at the end of July and am really looking forward to it. I live in Japan and there are awesome tracks within 2-3 hours drives, such as Fuji Speedway, and Twin Ring Motegi. If I get a M3P in the next few months, I will probably sign up for a track license for Motegi and try it out. I'm glad to hear you had positive results especially on a hot day.
Hope you enjoy the test drive! Fuji speedway looks incredible
One way to do it is to do one fast lap and then drive easily and let everyting to cool down a bit. Probably the best way for most EVs.
Thanks for the video Michael. What were the max. G forces you got? I saw on my car on street 1,4G on brakes, 1-1.1G corners and approx 1.1G acceleration.
For non-US folks, I'm with my TM3P 2024 at Nurburgring now, will do some hot laps in the next two days.
@@qrs13 brakes I lost the data but didn’t push brakes hard that day, 1.3g corners, 1.1 acceleration same
@@qrs13 have fun! Hope to hear about your experience
@@officialmichaeltanperfect, thanks for the data. Will see tomorrow morning. Can’t wait to have fun. 😂
@@officialmichaeltan the lap with Misha - 1.6g corners, 1.3g brakes and 0.9g accel. If I remember the numbers correctly. Unfotunately neither brakes nor battery can survive whole lap. Will be back in 3 weeks with big brakes. Stay tuned for Misha’s video.
mine comes in 2 weeks
Congrats!!!
SAME!
Cash bought right? Don't be such a lease / loan murican.
Very entertaining video! Impressed that the temperatures stayed in check throughout your sessions.
I'm curious how the stock Pirelli tires held up after a day at the track.
They were pretty decent I’d say. But I believe if one takes this to the track regularly they should absolutely get real racing tires.
No shade to the driver, but he didn't have temp issues because he is way under the limit. 1 lap is all I could get at Laguna Seca before the car started to cut power.
That was awesome! I'm tempted to bring my 24M3P to the track but it seems daunting! Great work though
There are good companies that make it easy to get into. Mainly just expensive with track insurance, tires and stuff!
Very cool, and good of you to go out and test yourself. Perhaps consider learning to left foot break for these track runs. It can come in handy. Great video 🫡
I do left foot braking for the sim! Tried switching back to one foot since it seems to be the most common for actual track days but maybe I’ll experiment with left foot for real days.
2:19 great video. How were you able to held the iPhone on that position on the center console?
@@rogeriogomesosorio4755 thank you! I got a suction cup phone mount and stuck it on the top of center console storage
Thanks for sharing! How was the tire wear?
Def took a decent chunk of life out of them 😂
Fire fiyaahhhh, Brownbear 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
very cool
Just pick up mine today and love it. Do notice a rattle somewhere when going really fast.
Congrats!!! Yeah my speaker grill in the front dash rattles too. Did you schedule a service appointment?
Hi, i saw you are testing at street of willow, how do you charge there? do u go out? or?
@@leoguo6584 the closest supercharger is 20min away. I ran three sessions and didn’t need to charge. We left early since it was super hot that day.
@@officialmichaeltan gotcha, thank you so much
Nice report.
I noticed that your elbow angle is too open for a better control and for crash safety. You need to be a bit closer to the steering wheel, at least with the backrest if not with the whole seat.
This is meant to be a constructive comment.
Good to know thank you! I’ve been trying to find info on seating but didn’t get the chance to ask the instructors.
I’m curious as to knowing why you prefer a M3P for the track over a Plaid
800lb lighter, stiffer suspension, better stability. If you throw carbon ceramics and upgrade the brake fluid the M3P would be really good. The plaid is a beast but unwieldy
Great job man. I really hate the gravel there
Haha you know what’s up. Though at least if I go off track there are no walls to smash into there.
Glad you enjoyed your track day from a professional drives point of view, watching you drive is painful knowing that you're only tapping not close to 50% of the cars potential, from your point of you, great day nice and safe well with in your limits and you had a lot of fun congrats on your car, truly one of the best pieces of machinery you can buy for the price at this time
What was the temperature outside?
100 degrees plus or minus
@@officialmichaeltan
Thanks
Hell yeah. You can be that more experienced driver.
Hows it compare to an bmw m3?
What lap times did you run?
1:40 but there was always some form of traffic that day.
@@officialmichaeltan Thanks, I also noticed your tires screeching almost every turn, guessing it's still the stock oem all seasons?
@@officialmichaeltan And thanks for the reply, I'm definitely considering this for my next car. Between this and the long range, and keeping my s197 mustang for track duty.
Yep exactly, stock tires. They were decent but racing tires would make this car so good.
Nice that would be a great combo!
We are several owners in France having strong resonance coming from the Pirelli P0. It happens from 65mph up to (censored...). It seems due to the foam in the tires.
Have you ever face this in your local version?
We expect a fast guideline from Tesla to solve this.
Other issue, click and rattles in the seat back.
@@nanterre38 haven’t experienced resonance in my tires at least not yet.
Got a rattling in my front dash but actually just got it repaired by Tesla. Will see if it returns or not.
@@officialmichaeltan Thanks for prompt response. Last question... Our TM3P 2024 are equipped with Pirelli Pzero Elec T2. Is this the same one for you?
@@nanterre38 mine has pirelli p zero 4

I wish now that I waited on buying a mp3. I have a 2023. I really want to take mine to a road course!!!!!
You still have a top tier car! Lmk your thoughts if you end up bringing it to a track!
Just a square set of 315 wide track tires(if they fit?) would make this into a monster! Heavy cars need fat tires to spread the weight around.
..and obviously some even lighter weight track wheels to fit the fatter tires.
That would be interesting! And make em sticky race tires man this thing will be zooming
Lityle bit strange tesla s but with panorama glasses why not an model that the glasses can be open....
Put on some lighter wheels and stickier tires nextime. Can only imagine 😮👍🏽👍🏽
Now put some carbon ceramics on it :P
Battery tech is progressing at breakneck speed. When these EV become lite it's the end for ICE.
US tracks are so different to UK…
plz stop saying "y'all" Good video none the less!
You have to practice with PSVR2.
@@sarverjj I really want one exclusively for GT. Do you have one?
@@officialmichaeltanyes... It is awsome. Looking into corners is a game changer. Once you drive in vr in gt7 you won't go back to flat screen.
Performance only for traffic lights races. On track it just over heats the cooling sistem and the brakes are rubbish on track to.
Take the aero covers off the wheels next time.
To all the non-american viewers out there, be careful watching these kinds of videos. The Global version is very different. There are already videos of the LG battery version overheating on a track where the previous model had no issues.
Sad 😢
Yes very unhappy about this as it also seems to affect Autobahn use
Absolute bullshit and nonsense. I raced it all day on the Autobahn and I smoked everything.
Yep I released video in UK of mine overheating. Someone else messaged to say same on their Uk version also 3-4 laps in

Ioniq 5N is the best EV under 70k on track sorry but tesla miss it with the over heating
Significantly more expensive.
1% on a lap? You ain’t trying dude!
Pushing hard on track should result something like 4% - 5% battery used per 2 minutes :) That was roughly true for Tesla 3/Y, Polestar 2 and I4 M50 couple of weeks back ...

@@fhsrodri I’m just saying keep the same energy you had going at the 6 1/2 minute mark the entire race and you’ll be killing it, bro
okay first off, please post lap times. it gauges the driver experience and also capabilities of the car.
you can't give a "track" review without this. you should really preface it if you are a novice driver or new to the track. which it does seem like.
to me and a few others in the comments. it seems like a parade lap for novice beginner drivers + too much traffic.
talking about Gs or noises and talking about from an authoritative viewpoint really doesn't help the perception either. Just all types of random feedback that exposes ur inexperience.
you keep mentioning tire screeching which has nothing to do with performance which is very annoying to someone that actually tracks.
you should retitle as "My first track day" or something instead of "review" as if you are an authoritive seasoned track pro.
you are in no way reaching the capabilities of the car which is why nothing is overheating for you and pardon the french "talking out of your ass".
Great video! really appreciate it. Jesus Christ is alive! Doing what he says in the Bible will give you awesome powers and gifts. And Eternal life! God bless you! All things are for him, by him and through him.
You are driving like a grandma 🥴 sorry to say 😅 but you will never get some temperature in the battery like this
He’s pretty transparent about being a beginner.
Why are you still trying to compare your car to a Plaid? It's not even close and if your argument, which appears to be is you're more comfortable in a slower car is laughable. The Plaid is bigger, heavier and much quicker and faster than your car. That's great that you love your car but comparing it to superior cars and coming up with a pretty pitiful reason of you feel more comfortable is quite childish. A track pack Plaid would obliterate anything Tesla currently makes, period. Unfortunately, your judgement here is taken with a grain of salt.
The plaid is one of my dream cars. It’s not ideal for the racetrack with lots of turns however. If you get on the track you will find out how important handling is.
@@user-zf1ol7op7y yes the plaid can do faster times at that track. But it takes a very good driver to do so, for most people it would be very difficult to manage.
That's tesla owners for u. They will justify any reason as to why cars they cant afford are worse. In reality they'd trade their car in a heartbeat to have it. 😂
Some people prefer a lighter car to a faster one. It's not that hard to understand. I wouldn't get a Model Y even if it accelerated faster than the Model 3.
@@chewthegum lol justify away my guy. If u really prefer lighter cars u wouldn't be in the EV market. U prefer cheap speed and what u can afford. U ain't fooling no one.
