I am stuck at the lvl 85 monolith end boss. I can't defeat him, so I can't move to lvl 90 monoliths

He's tough, but if you stand at the top of the stairs on the left hand side a lot of his abilities can't kill you, keep an eye out on the ground though as there is a cold ability which puts a circle on the ground, this can 1 hit many build so move out of the way then go back to the top of the stairs in the corner, obviously more useful if your build does ranged damage

Yep, and I can't beat it with my main because my runemaster build is bugged on that map.
found one on regular mono with 1LP from boss, feel like im not appreciating the rarity of somethings ive found 😂
tbh i often just get stuck at the point where its pointless to farm normal monos but my build has not enough power to go through empowered monos comfortably and slog becomes annoying

Yeah, i feel you. You check for advise how to progress and it is usually: do empowered Monoliths. If you can't do them? Tough luck^^
Should be able to farm a base empowered with half purple half yellow gear with good efficiency if you follow a build guide.
If you cant do empowered monos, it is because your build is weak. This can be due to lots of reasons, maybe the logic of how you set up the build is flawed, maybe its bugged, or what i see in alot of cases, people dont really craft proper gear.
The balance of the game isnt perfect, or even close. Its fine to make your own build, but you should atleast check if other people are running similar setups as you and getting results. If not, it might just be a weak/unbalanced skill, or its just not a skill that was ever intended to be a main dps skill.
If you want some quick all around pointers on how to do more dmg, go for anything with flat dmg (e.g +42 melee physical dmg, if you are a melee physical dmg build) and go for modifiers in your passive and skill tree that has the word "more" in them, as they scale multiplicative. Also pay attention to your weapons base, the implicits are often more important than the affixes. It doesnt matter if you have a double T7 exalted weapon, if the weapon base sucks. All its for then, is using it on legendary potential.
An example of such a weapon is a great leveling weapon named Firestarters Torch, this thing is amazing for the first 40 or so levels, but once you start getting more passive points and skills, it starts to fall off because none of your passives really scale well with it. It only has 3 flat spell damage, so all of your %spell damage modifiers dont do much, compared to a weapon with 50+ spell damage.
Play warlock or falcon. Or class with 15k+ ward. Sad but true. I tried Forge Guard several times now and feel the same. Even with pretty nice gear i not steamrolling and still need be very carefull if not wanna die. Or i need get legendaries first before doing empowered ones? which makes no sense at all.
Look this lock of him doing 200k+ a hit. ive seen my manifest armor do 9k at max. Can push higher but then I need reduce defenses to much and ye the risk of dieing increases. unless I have them legendaries to boost minion damage more. But some classes just do so much dmg they barely need defenses.

But I think that right there is the problem. He ain’t teaching us anything. He is teaching a WHOLE bunch of other people that struggle to understand systems in games like this. You and I just aren’t the target audience.

The amount of people in streams asking these very questions over and over is astounding, so not clickbait but more so not the greatest title.
@@greed7760 Respect! Not everyone can easily see a system and understand the nuances. No shame in that! Keep it up! Just don’t regurgitate the entire process as you go. Take time to try things and make mistakes. If your build guide says “do this” try and understand why.
The most fun in games like this is forging your own path. Builds guides are helpful, but I think you’re robbing yourself of part of the experience. Take time to learn as you go, not just check off items on a list. Then some day you can do your own thing! More than anything, have fun!!
My problem is that this information is NOT available in-game.
Without using an external source database, how are you meant to know that certain items are locked behind certain monoliths or level requirements?
Boss's are fair enough, it's quite normal for bosses to have their own special loot tables.
I mean I'm quite happy to use these external resources to get this information. But there should be some menu in game that is like "These are the items you could potentially get in this zone, or from this boss."
I mean it wasn't until recently I realised using a Chaos glyph did not give you an equal chance to get any of the possible affixes, and that each one is affix weighted separately for it's own re-roll potential.
through out all history of gaming there are always hidden things in higher difficulty, actually this games over explains some mechanics

As for gaming history, well yes, obviously. Sometimes there's merit in having things hidden, sometimes it's oversight.
I'd argue in the case of Last Epoch, they actually do a really good job explaining a lot of things. Which is why when they miss other things, it seems more like an oversight than a deliberate design choice.

thanks for comparing that. i started a HC char and i think this is where i will stay over SC. This also means i wont be farming High corruption monos for a long time. I will probably not go far above 200 corruption - i can't rly tell when it becomes too dangerous. Not much content exists about that topic in particular.
Sadly the clip you used for empowered monos was not a fair comparison. It looked like that map was already somewhat cleared and you didn't encounter mobs on the way. I guess you wanted to show the comparison between the map completion loot explosions. The difference there was huge, would you say the 500 one was an average sample? can you say around what corruption level it started skyrocketing? I am not in COF but that should not make a difference when we want to find a sweet spot.
The map wasn't already cleared, my build just has the ability to off screen enemies and since you want to objective rush I was showcasing objective rushing. I just ran 1 map of each without doing anything special. What you're seeing there is how game-warpingly powerful a top tier build like Wraithlord is in comparison to everything else.
I think the exact sweet spot is difficult to identify, but 300-500 corruption is a good place to start looking for CoF. For MG it kinda depends on what everyone else is doing.

Getting to empowered mono isn't supposed to be hard, if it is there is definitely a problem in your build (even if the idea is meh), getting to hundreds and hundreds of corruption is different. If you struggle at 100 corruption i'm sure there are some flaws in your build easily fixable (like a key synergy missing, wrong spells, maybe not underestanding how to scale dmg correctly, not having any defensive layer at all and so on)
I heard a rumor that they changed the boss specific drops to be at 150 Corruption. Have you heard anything about this?

Does it increase the odds of getting good affixes? Because thats what really matters to me. Couldnt really care less about getting specific bases if they dont drop with at least 2 affixes I want, one being t6.
Increased item rarity means more Exalted (T6/T7) items so yes.
I farmed the stormcarved testament from normal Lagon. It took 28 tries.

This is my issue, i think we all know we don't have to farm normal monolith.
I moved to Empowered a day ago, really had to slow down as I'm short on health at 1,088, (bad rng). I've got the dps so that saves me more often than not. I'm struggling to find more health items to balance out survivability and dps within empowered. I don't dare try a boss yet, too many one shot scenarios for me right now. I'm a level 88 DB Falconer. Thank you for taking the time to touch on this. It is disappointing seeing comments from more experienced players in this thread who feel flexing is more rewarding that helping others with something they deem, "obvious." Not all of us are vets of the genre but you can find elitists in most any genre.

I unlocked empowered monoliths and honestly it's a brick wall. I just die instantly.
to be fair some people probably arent following any guides and their build might just suck and cant do empowered monos without dying every 10 feet hell even some guides are just bad and people dont know any better and end up with a wonky build
No the class sucks. Stop this build shit it has nothing to do with it. Classes just suck when other classes can one shot the whole content almost cause they get way better uniqies thrown in face for the synergy. Way better synergy between skills. etc. Same goes for ward.
Anyone saying its the build. Go make me a fun Forge guard build where you not walk on egg shells with minions. So not the cheesy healing hands spam.

not everyone wants to do empowered nor can everyone do them without dying
The developers have balanced the game around farming in empowered monoliths, if you don't want to do them you'll need to make builds which don't rely on most items as they'll be forever out of your reach. You'll have to be ok with your build being extremely weak, and not really having a path of forward progression. If you're fine with that, go for it. If not you might want to consider a different approach or a different game.

Do normal monoliths until you can upgrade your weapon to get enough dps. Yes this is a grind but this is necessary. Then start empowered monoliths. You will die a lot at first. But gradually you will be able to upgrade other parts of your gear
Weapons in Last Epoch are "stat sticks" and honestly pretty easy to craft most of the time. You should be able to get a weapon where you can upgrade the prefixes / add prefixes during your push through normal monos without stopping to farm.
Defo a little unintuitive to have normal monos with levels. Rule of thumb: If you can run in it, go for it.

Getting to empowered monoliths as quickly as possible. If you're already in empowered monoliths look for upgrades from boss drops, echo rewards, or runes of ascendance.

Can people please stop calling timelines "monoliths"? There's a single Monolith of Fate, and currently it represents the whole endgame system, containing 10 timelines within itself.

Pro-Tip: Don't click passives that brick your build, you'll find empowered monoliths much easier!
(Played torment warlock, specced Beacon of Torment on Cthonic Fissure which stops it from putting torment on enemies. MAN did this game feel hard when I was dealing no damage with my main ability!)

Most don't have streamer time to play the game... And getting to the end of normal Monoliths is a chore.
It takes like 2 hours to get to the end of normal Mono's. You don't even have to do all of them, just rush the right side to the 3 level 90 ones. You only need those 3 complete to get to empowered.

@@dustins7259 good to know because I didn't know that...My knowledge of the game is growing since I wasn't in the beta. I didn't finish the campaign till this past weekend (doing other stuff) which was a huge mistake not being in a faction for better drops. I knew the 1st season/cycle would take a bit as I figure out systems/classes/builds.
Even with a lot of time to play it's a chore, because it feels pointless. You're not really "progressing" because everything you do in normal monos gets replaced with what you do in empowered. It kinda reminds me of ARPGs inspired by oldschool titles like D2 where you need to beat the game 3 times to unlock endgame. Every time I get bored half way through because I already beat the game.
I think if the normal mono system gave blessings of equal power to empowered and loot more similar to 100 corruption it wouldn't be that bad, it's not really the time that's the issue it's that your farming sucks, the blessings are half power, etc.
