You’ve got this wrong (along with 99% of other grief professionals). If you read the original paper by Stroebe and Schut, you’ll see that both sides of the process are stressors. People have taken the restoration to mean, restorative activities. This is not what was meant by it. Restoration stressors are all about adaptation, but they are stressors nonetheless. They are not the light counterpart to the darkness of the loss process. Each side of the process is difficult and stressful and needs support.
