I think of the guys, Emmet probably deserves it more from a pure racing perspective. But man do I love Bradley
You're not alone, my dude!
I'm all for Brad winning! So exciting to watch!!
same
I've been rooting for Emmet the entire time, Man can ride
Agree. Emmet is good but Bradley is a guy you want to watch grow and a guy you want to be around
I feel like Tom is using the moo off to satisfy his secret kink
I don’t think there is anything to off about it…. But dang it makes me feel weird.
I like having more inexperienced riders amongst the lineup but it would be way more interesting if next season you actually make it more of an 'academy' and do training sessions before each challenge to see who really has the most potential to improve.
if they needed training nobody would be good enough to compete professionally
I agree ... but maybe that's a longer series than the academy format.
I think there would be big interest in the progression though, bigger than the Academy .... like the privateer series but following the progression and training they do to make it to the top
@@thelongestnameinthecomment9677 I disagree. Even pros can get better with training. Emmet is finishing in the top 10 in the U21 category in EWS, but he'll need to keep improving to get to the top. And then more to get to the top of EWS when he's old enough. He might learn on his own, but with the right coaches might get there faster. And some of the other contestants might benefit too.
@@fillfreakin2245 I should have specified that i mean inexperienced riders wouldn't be good enough even with training
@@thelongestnameinthecomment9677 For sure, you'd still want only people with at least some potential to go pro.
Sure - the riding is challenging but you guys need to do a real challenge like doing a full protective wrap on a bike and not getting frustrated.
Or change a tire with a cushcore.
tbh i think that would be boring, they’re riders, not mechanics.
M you know that what they're doing is a Hell of a lot tougher than anything you can do I bet.
@@MrSketchyCharacter thats easy - just dont be dumb, dh casing is no worries
@@MrSketchyCharacter cushcore tyres changes are easy... With the right method
Flo... everything about Flo is just amazing and she deserves this so much
yeah can't wait to see what's next for her :)
It would've been good to have all the racers run inserts like Cushcore. Almost all enduro racers use inserts.
yes i keep saying same thing. im using flat tire defender 2 setup in my bike can pump up to 10 psi and ride around its fun. obviosly run higher for speed but to crawl over stuff its great. true inserts add weight but bombing down some sharp rocks to bust your tire on the rim like we have seen over and over on this show sucks.
I'd like to have seen the racers run decent tyres so they didn't need Cushcore
@@smuy3782 I'm 99% sure they were all running DD. DH Casing would've prevented more flats but it would've killed them in the XC race.
@@louiefriesen just not running Maxxis would solve the problem.
Michelin Wild Enduro for example.
@@smuy3782 I don't think that would help much if at all. In the PNW Maxxis is by far the most popular and works the best. (On my local hills) I only ever seen like 2 people running Michelin, a few running Schwalbe, Vittoria, or Conti. Almost everyone is running Maxxis.
I'm not a Maxxis fanboy, but I've never had a flat with a Maxxis tire. Can't say the same about other companies.
Edit: I also find that the Wild Enduro tires roll slower than Assegai/DHR II combo which the competitors were using.
Bike mechanic's best tip is to make sure you line up stickers. Got it.
That made me laugh, nothing about tyre plugs just line up the logos and all is good.
I think Addison's tip should have been about having a tire insert. Or maybe about not running your tire pressure too low.
I would say the tip should have been, not tightening your brake levers to much so they move out of the way in a crash and are easy to move back
@@bengtstensson7719 he gave that tip a few episodes ago
@@bengtstensson7719 well, he did give that tip and they did move out of the way in the crash. You don't want them so loose they move while riding if you hit a hard bump. From the footage it doesn't look like Laura tried moving them with much force/leverage.
Mindset after a crash is so critical, it always works best for me to think "now that its out of the way I'm good" its easy to crash get anxious and crash again. The pressure is real.
Honestly I don't mind crashing... it's the really bad crashes that are hard to come back from. I got Bacon stripes all over my body and move on... I feel and broke my hand once and let me tell you that's hard to come back from mentally. Once I got back on the bike I needed a solid month to mentally recover
@@christopherdavidson17 It is defiantly part of the game, its not if just when. I agree serious injuries take a while.
Jeez Laura is fucking hardcore! I know plenty of guys who would have quit after just the first crash.
@Emerald Triangle or people who don't race and have no need to keep pushing through after a big crash...
If I was racing I would do,but I don't,so I'd probably chill out too after a big crash. Back in my Mx days I've cut casts off,or strapped up wrists/ankles just to make sure I stayed in the points runnings. I completely understand why people don't want to risk it though, doesn't make them "femmy", it's just playing it safe. When you have a day job on the Monday morning, you pick and choose your battles.
I’m team Bradley, man does that guy of sick style on a bike! And he’s fast!
If Emmet ran an insert could've rode to the bottom, maybe even of prevented the flat.
Flo was awesome the entire series and deserved the win. I feel like Emmett will still find a sponsor and has a bright future in racing. He killed it this season and is still so young.
I just love flo. Man, she has so much talent and such a good vibe. She deserves to go professional!
Evan got JACKED
It would not surprise me one bit if Brad didn't win, he'd get snapped up by a top team.
Love watching Bradley ride, he attacks the trail but also manages to be one with the bike
Love the series and everything that pinkbike is doing recently. Field tests are on point and so is the new used bike series. Seems like you guys have everything figured out! Well done and keep up the good work.
Did Bradley's dad say "I reckon that's fuggin' wicked!"?! I guess the Pinkbike editors haven't quite deciphered the New Zealand twang yet even thought they have to listen to Tom. But he's right. It is fuggin' wicked.
yea mate he sure did say that, us kiwis have an interesting language haha
Lets be honest that every single one of them guys deserves a contract and should be offered one ☝️ from various of brands . What a bosses 🤟🙌
agreed
I think Laura is great, tough cookie, just her lack of race experience showing again with the crashes.
I know everything is provided to them but who would want to race for such a big prize without cushcore or a plug tool in their pocket and did they get tyre choice, stronger tyres perhaps?
maxxis are shit tires. Conti, Schwalbe, Michelin, WTB, Vittoria - everything is better than a frickin maxxis.
@@Tequila628 Schwalbe is shit and way over priced. Quality control is lacking and no shortage of people literally shredding a Schwalbe to pieces here in the Pacific NW.
@@Tequila628 nothing wrong with Maxxis, just got to pick the right ones for the job
People also run crazy low tire pressures. Most MTB CZcamsrs that offer tire pressure advice are sponsored by tire companies. Tire companies know that low tire pressures equals more sales because it destroys sidewalls. When everyone ran 30 PSI, tires only wore out when the nubs started to wear down. When you run
@@fillfreakin2245 I'm one that runs very low pressures, in my local environment it suits, and cushcore definitely lets me go even lower. The type of trails in the academy definitely will need some extra
You can see Emmet preloaded over a rock roller to pump it and ran straight into/onto a sneaker rock that caused the flat. @40:50 and use ">" to go frame by frame- you can actually see the jet of sealant and air blowing out after hitting it.
Emmet is the true rider in this competition.
Tubeless. Cush cores. Some DH casing tires. Would go a long way.
Flo is such a beast!
🤙💪
Nothing like having to get used to a new bike for the final race
And seems like orbea did something weird with new bikes, they seem so spongy and jumpy as if they were having pogo sticks instead of fox suspension. Those crashes and how insecure riders look now tells a lot. Best the had to say about new orbea : awesome colors !?!?
@@arekjanuszkiewicz7073 I swear Laura said that about the colour, and hers was matt black? They are about 5 years too late on the matt/stealth theme!
Surprised they don't use tire inserts; would have saved Emmet in race 1.
Would have saved a lot of other riders...
Another sponsor to line up for season 3 I guess.
Bradley really handles that bike well
Cant wait for the next Episode 💥💥💥
Flo, un abrazo boricua. Eres la mas pro del grupo. ¡Espero que tengas el trofeo en tus manos pronto!
fresca como lechuga :))
38:50 the way she launched that poor drone xD
Didn’t even notice!!! 😂
Wow! That was a nice home run.🤟🤣🤣
im realy disapepointed they did not keep the secrep pros, its important to see how these contestants compare to the people they will actually end up going against. especially for the comparicein of women to men, because even if emmit is going faster over all, flow could be way closer to the times of the women pro than emmit is to the mens.
Laura is a beast! She has true grit.
Think there will be a tire insert sponsor for season 3?
Counting down the days until Season 3! Can’t wait 🤘
Having these season 1 contestants back makes me feel like season 1 had better characters even if season 2 may have better riders overall.
I think it's real cool that they brought Addison back as a mechanic. He seems like he's having fun and it's cool to see him there doing his thing and tuning them up before the last race.
You already know I’m split screening this in my calc class
as you should be
Excellent Series !!! I Love it !!!
Can't lie I've wanted Emmett to win for so long now and I hope he does win
After this episode it looks like Flo has won unless she crashes... Can't give it to Emmet when he flatted and is second male.
If they based in solely on the race I'd say maybe... But they're considering everything from episode 1 onward. They going to pick the guy who won some of the competitions? Or the girl that won almost every competition and beat the Secret Pro... Twice? Sorry, this is Flo's prize everyone else is fighting for second
After a few more seasons maybe 4 is 5 total minimal it'd be awesome to see all the winners come back and compete as a grand winner. Maybe the monetary winning go to a charity or something. Then maybe have the judged vote on people who didn't make it but felt like they had a huge potential and do a PBA redemption of sorts.
Just a thought
That's pretty cool. Maybe try and get in contact with pink bike academy?
@@juleskan4142 no idea even how to for something like that lol
"pro tip" earlier in the season "leave your brake leavers a little loose incase you crash you can straighten them easily." Laura crashes, can't straighten them because they are so tight - nice job Bike Mech!!
I would be gutted crashing on the first race 😳
Man i feel for laura and emmit. They are tough as hell. Bradly and flow wow is all i can say. Its a nail bitter
Ahhhh, The wicked “MOO Test” 😂…. Awesome Competition and those new Orbea biles are sick…. Good Luck guys and wishing ALL a safe and happy holiday season…. 🇺🇸
love this show
be good to bradley win and show that kiwis can fly
I loved the "CANNA GETTA HOYYYAAAAA"
If they race enduro - why they don't have tire plugs and co2 inflators ? Emmet could save so much time with a 30 sec repair. A trained Enduro racer can fix up and keep going in 30-40seconds
Agree!!! Also, why don't they run Cushcore??? at least in the back!!! they know the trail is ruff on tires...
@@andresamson8859I agree, he could run solely on the cush to the bottom
@@TLFaun This, and most likely he wouldn't have had a flat tire in the first place
I was thinking the same thing? They couldnt carry plugs and Co2 in their pockets?
Tori out here slaying it, and she isn't even in the race!
Laura is such a treasure. Took it like a champ.
So exciting!!!!
Emmet is⚡️💨 but Bradley is so 😎
Can’t believe I just watched like 10 minutes off “moooooo” 😂
Grande Flooo!!!
Gooooooo Floooooooooooooooo gooooooooo! Just do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Flo even won at mooing! Just take my money, Flo. Free Nutella for life!!
thank you for the nutella!
yeah her little eyebrow thing would have had me beat too i reckon 😂
I'd love to see one of the secret pros is Martin Maes, that'd be so cool
The moo off was all time!
I'm sorry. But Enduro racers have CO2 and repair kits. At least they could have had the basics on them.
That bothered me too. It still would have hurt his time but without it he's basically out already unless the same happens to Brad
@@ashrozz I agree. It would have. But 3ins to reinflate the tire and make up time is a true race experience. Not riding with no tools. .... Glad we were on the same page!
No good mtb elbow pads RIDICULOUS!
Great Fox protection advertising right!?
con todo FLo
my soul left my body when emmet got his flat. I feel so bad for the guy.
13 minutes in and I'm watching a five minute clip of people saying "moo" at each other.... think I may need to re-evaluate my life choices..
Graande ESPIÑEIRAAAAAAAA!!!
Go flo
Let’s goooooo!
Go Flo gooo!!
The moo off is fucking hilarious
SICK wow
When Laura spoke on the phone it was the first time on CZcams me speaking german was usefull🤣
will you tell us who the secret pros are in the next episode???
Doesn't seem that hard to figure out it's Christina and Evan...
@Emerald Triangle Uh, Christina has finished in Top 10 of EWS Pro women before. 🤦
hat's off to Flo I thought Bradley's moustache was the secret weapon for a moo off
her wink tore him up, he knew he was done after that
Please do next one at whisler
Kind of telling. The fittest with higher FTPs finish first. I think skills are pretty close, but two are fitter and it shows especially as it get to be longer stages.
OMMGG WER WONT KNOW WHO WILL WINN
Jesus Laura is tough AF, those were two total beater crashes, ouch. And to come back in stage 2 and tie Flo? Wow. Flo is faster, but I am rooting for Laura.
Are they not allowed to carry plugs and Co2? Emmett could have saved some time repairing the flat. There's no way he can make up 2 and half minutes from Bradley, who is super strong.
Brad “The Brush Stash” whatever his last name is? For the win!
This format would work so well for freeriders!
Flo deserved it. I think brad and emmit can get in the ews anyways because of their sheer speed.
🔥🔥🔥
I knew the toilets swirled “the other way” in New Zealand but I didn’t know “rock paper scissors” was backwards too.
Anyone know why my compression and rebound knobs don’t actually make any adjustments to my fork I am out of ideas of why this could happen
Does Emmett really need to make up the entire time lost? He's been dominate all along. One crash shouldn't prevent you from winning. And the fact he didn't give up but ran it out shows his willingness to give it all.
I agree. One crash shouldn't determine it. It shouldn't be total of times. It should be a point system.. you should get points for what place you were in and add it up at the end. Sometimes I have doubts about this show.🤔 I think they decided on Flo winning a while ago. It wouldn't surprise me if they let air out of Emmetts tire to cause that flat.. just like the flat in the other episode.. why didn't they get a cush core after that? Emmett is the best rider.. reality shows are very scripted. People are told what to say and how to spin it..People like to pretend they're not scripted. It's a fun show. I like it. All that said, fingers crossed for Emmett..✌🤞😉
Which Garmin wearable do they use?
Tori had it right knocking that costume person down. Spirit animal energy right there. That's just what you do. Proper response.
Why don't they use more protection? Fox has great D30 upper body suits perfect for this type of riding.
Why does it sound like (or lack thereof I guess lol) Emmet and Flo are using silent hubs? Aren't the bikes supposed to be the same? Having a silent hub such as the ones made by Onyx and Box Stealth would be quite the advantage considering they produce well over half the amount of drag as traditional hubs and have infinite engagement points.
most loud hubs can be made silent by just putting lubrication into the freewheel.
@@gesundheitstips2197 even still, that would lead to less drag and therefore a competitive advantage, even if it's not as much as there would be if they were using onyx style hubs
Awesome!
Not an enduro guy, more of an XCM dude but this whole series is great
The Dude in the trail forms costume must be sweating his ass off
Laura Biest-Modus
I thought I am slow and fall over all the time because I'm a mediocre rider. turns out, its those darn misaligned logos and dirty bike!
28 years is too old!? crying at 35....
stop ya crying , just enjoy the ride, im a young 57 , shit rider , but im always smiling when riding
@@danieljames4584 I'm 71 but can beat them mooing....
can we talk ab how at 16:52 the drone squeeled
Haha, wheeee! :D
why dont they just run cushcore or something
Flo is going to win, she is fast and smart but she still has to work on her jumping abilities
How could she win? Her times are not nearly as fast as the men? Are the judges factoring in a handicap or something?
Her time is based on the competition out there , we all know males are faster than females.
@@Capicua718 Right...the competition "out there" for this season of Pinkbike Academy includes the men; correct? The last two episodes are about the last four remaining competitors (male/female) with no secret pro times included to compare against. So, why should Flo win? Because she has bested the women? I got that but the competition seems to also include the men. Maybe P.A. is factoring in soft skills like the ability to represent a brand or market appeal? I don't know. However, it is clear that if the competition is strictly on physical performance, men AND women included, there is no real contest.
@@jallen3311 sooo do you think that female can beat a male in any physical sport? The last race both males were faster than flo by a minute or more even though flo was faster than the other female by 20 second. Flo is better for a sponsor that wants to target latin America markets. You probably think that transgender women (men) should compete in women's sports
@@Capicua718 I think you have missed my point. Agree Flo could be better for targeting LA markets which reinforces my point *if* this is a substantial part of the winner selection criteria. Very wrong assuming my thoughts on men pretending to be women...this is wrong in many ways including but not limited to their participation in competition with real/biological women.
Drinking game: take a shot every time someone says "That's racing."
If there is only one winner it’s Flo No question.
i am surprised that they dont run tyre inserts
Tire insert sponsor next season?
Flo all the way... 100%.
Evan a grown man now! #dothework
