Wish we got a catalyst for Last Word or Thorn. Still W for Monte Carlo with bayonet catalyst after 9 years, but we could've had a catalyst that would *remove* hip fire penalty for LW or add more range on Thorn.

@echo-1487 yeah that's why I'm saying it doesn't need shit. It's a gun noobs use and shouldn't have anything going for it. The gun used to be standard for every sniper hc player now it's just been overused and is yeah a noob gun.
The range on Monte Carlo is good now. You can really see the extra 4m.

there's no reason not to set up the bayonet, since you can still shoot, it doesn't go away after the timer, and you can even switch weapons. So then why make you press anything to activate it. While it isn't a big deal I guess, there's literally no reason it shouldn't just activate on its own at 5 stacks

It’s cool to have. Probably way better in pve since that’s really where melee builds can go off. I see people saying it should one shot but I think that would be busted bc you could infinitely chain it in pvp if there wasn’t some sort of internal cooldown. I’m fine with it being a clean up tool if anything

You can get the catalyst to ready with weapon kills alone. It doesn't matter how you reach Markov x5, you just need the x5 and you're good to go. Perhaps the bayonet could get a lunge detection boost if it really is this bad in PvP? In PvE I don't really see this to be meta or game breaking but it certainly looks fun.

The catalyst and gun in general is meant for pve, not pvp. People would probably lose it if you could swing it several times or one shot people with it. From what I’ve used of it in pve, it’s kinda cracked since synthos work with. Plz don’t nerf this bungo.
It seems pretty weak tho, i feel like it should one shot in pvp since you have to keep reloading or not be a one hit but make it be able to hit more than once, like a glaive
@@cosmicfrank5465 Well, given that the bayonet doesn’t disappear after you activate even when Markov chain disappears and it doesn’t have a cooldown I would say letting it one shot is a bad idea even though I don’t give a damn about pvp. Like we just got over knockout bruh and people were losing their shit over that. Monte Carlo would be a menace since like I said it lasts forever even after you proc it and can be immediately proced again after a bayonet kill. I also don’t think it’s right for them to need to change the way the catalyst works just because of pvp when the games main focus is pve not pvp and this is meant to 100% be a pve weapon. Mark my words, if they make this catalyst a one shot people will lose their minds when they see how busted it is, especially since exotics and certain abilities buff it already.
@@Alsecres in that case, being able to swing it around for a few seconds like a glave would be better. But that would change more of the functionality.
Maybe all it needs to reproc automatically after getting a melee kill with it. Even in pve, reloading to reproc it is annoying

You do not have to be using any weapon in an activity to gets it’s catalyst
Its not really a pvp catalyst though, its for target rich pve situations. People aren't going to let you just run up on them with a bayonet anymore than they would let you just run up and punch them.

This catalyst was extremely disappointing considering all of bungies hype about it being the most complex catalyst they’ve ever designed and then you get it and all it does is let you stab with the gun when you have max stacks of monte carlos perk. Such a let down.

How did they kill it? It's only good for charging up you're melee abilities right? If so delete it reclaim and just don't apply the catalyst but I haven't gotten it yet myself.

I love how everytime a pvp player makes some video the pvp players forget pve comes first for bungie and this entire season they balanced everything to be super powerful in pve but useless in pvp LITERALLY EVERYTHING except the aspects. The three exotics? Worthless in pvp but great in pve. The two weapons? Pve gods not great in pvp, monte catalyst? Pretty high damage though it will struggle in endgame however useless in pvp.
