I feel Adrienne... I have the exact same problem. You don't want to offend your parents because you know they didn't want to hurt you and their intentions weren't bad. I feel bad for her needing to explain that she doesn't hate her father.
BTW, she looks GREAT in this clip!

its basically almost every Asian/brown kid's story. Your parents grew up thinking spanking and hitting was the right form of disipline or rather only form because thats all they saw and experienced. and so you love ur parents because they are ur parents but you remember all these bad moments, losing their temper in the wrong times for meaningless things that absolutely can be handled differently, speaking to you harshly when they could have spoken to you with love and there was no other strenuous situation going on that can explain away that behavior, disciplining you in ways that made no sense as a child, yet also having moments of love and care as well its all so confusing

I understand what Adrienne was trying to say about "bad memories" those difficult times are what shapes you & makes you stronger! Cherish your parents & grands, if they are still around. My last grandparent, mom's mom, died in 2010 & I miss ALL my grandparents EVERYDAY! P.S....My Dad passed away 2019 & would've been 80 this past year. Miss him ALL day/EVERYDAY....

Wow! That was very intense, very emotional. Never seen Adrienne break down like that 😢😢😢😔
What got me messed up was Loni's recollection of seeing that deceased driver. I know how badly she wished to unsee the man.😭😭😭

These women are so brave for this! I was teary-eyed for Loni & Adrienne's discussion. Your experience is, of course, uniquely your own but they are so courageous for sharing this on live-national TV. It's not a requirement to be a fan, but it makes me so happy that these women feel able to share their past & feelings and reflect. Loni gets a lot of flack for being funny and avoiding the topic, but I love her so much for sharing her truth here. She & Adrienne really are doing the most here- in the best way possible.

Ugh this topic brought me to tears. I’m the same as Adrienne, I cannot make by brain shake off bad memories of people most times. I cannot forget the hurt. This made me think of the things I need to work on.

I think about these first responders, doctors, medical professionals....they see death on a daily basis...multiple times over. They are true heroes. Because they can't always save the patients they are trying to save.

I know I’m not the only person that would erase a lot of bad memories lol i would like to replace them with amazing memories that might have been forgotten/overshadowed with the bad memories. Certain memories can actually tarnish the true essence of who you are.
For example: if you grew up wanting to be an actor but people were constantly saying that you could never be one, that can deter you from chasing your dreams and you may fall down a path to please others and not yourself. Erasing those memories will actually benefit you. (This is a very light example)
Obviously, you don’t want to erase every bad memory because I do believe what Jeannie says however to believe that EVERY bad memory plays a role in who you are today (in a good way) is not true for everyone. Some people never recover from the damage of those bad memories and I believe they “could” be in a better place emotionally/physically today had that not happened to them. But kudos to those who prevail and had some privilege (such as, outside support/ available resources, etc.) help them overcome those bad memories ! BUT its not the majority.

I've learned so much with tears rolling down about my mom. I love her so much but I've been having alot of questions about her past and why we as her kids Ain't close enough. I love her so much for God's sake, i really feel like i just want to hug her now.

I love these women and their honesty. Tamara and I are alike in our views on relationships, Jeannie and I have a similar sense of responsibility towards our younger siblings Loni and I have had childhood memories of no food in the house, and Adrienne and I have too much in common to write in this comment except she is financially well off now. Thank you guys for sharing your experiences.

Wow, great topic! The hosts shared real healing by openly speaking on difficult memories that nobody likes to even think about let alone talk about. That was the most real conversation I’ve watched on this show, keep them coming!

i hate that they kept and kept trying to tell adrian not to want to erase those memories. if she thinks she would be better off without those memories & they have only cause her harm in a relationship THEN LET HER

She literally witnessed someone die and you’re calling her a cry baby? That says more about you as a stone cold hearted ass person than it does about a decent human like Loni.
