Just wanna say, you inspire me. I was lucky enough to find my own stay at home business making children's sensory tables. Home full time and growing my shop. Thank you for helping me to see past my own struggles. Lets git some!
Great job! I love to see guys turn great projects out of small shops. I call my shop, the micro shop. Hey, work with what ya got! Thanks again for the inspiration!
Micro shop is a good one! Thanks Saw Dust Dude. Much appreciated!
Very nice. It is nice to see how attentive you are to all the questions. Great when woodworkers help each other. Much respect.
Thanks Rex! I agree and am lucky to have friends who help me too.
Hi I’m a granny 76 in England , I love watching creative stuff like this , thank ypu , just subbed
Hi Christine from England. Thank you, appreciate that.
These are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Glad you like them! Thank you
Wow, so beautiful. I wouldn't even cut on this, would hang it up as a display. They are just too beautiful to cut on👍
Thank you thank you!!
Just buy two!😉
Those look awesome! Want to quit my job and start making cutting boards!
@@ClaudiaHernandez-rf6pp wish I could do the same, then again those boards look beautiful because of the nice and pretty alaskan wood
@@edgarava1 you can also make fire with the alaskan wood. But what this men did is just art, art from the nature. And his hands made those beautiful boards
From U K. This is my forth visit to your channel. Every time I learn something new from all you CZcamsrs. I do hope you get million subscribers. What I like of your channel- you are so calm and not pushy at all. Thanks.
These look awesome and I really appreciate how well you document the process. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Thanks so much!
Take stack of cut ends glue then together and make an end grain.
These are the nicest cutting boards I have ever seen. What an eye for colour combinations and attention to detail.
Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words.
Kris did you grow up around a lot of women? Your color palate is amazing.. my Wife and I Love Your channel. Also how can I get prices for your products?
Good job! It turned out a lot of beautiful cutting boards! Good luck!
Awesome. Great job. Your videos are extremely informative. Thanks for taking the time to post.
I bought a pretty-cut project board two years ago from woodcraft as my first project, 10,000 dollars later in tools and many mistakes I’m doing awesome projects thanks to guys like you who have shared their daily projects.
Awesome and thank you!
I would not even want to use as a cutting board it is so beautiful! Amazing job
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words.
Same lol nice work i want one now for out home 😂
the build is so satisfying to watch. I'm still amazing how a wood is cut so cleanly.
Thank you very much!
Kris, thanks so much for the inspiration.
Really nice work. When you cut the panel, I thought "dont waste the offcut". I see you used it well.
Thank you! Cheers!
No wonder these sold out so quickly. Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you thank you!!
Seeing you making a chopping board, I am also a beginner woodworker
I've been following along and I'm learning a lot
Every board looked perfect! Wish everyone took as much pride in their work as you. Well done!
Thanks 808! Really appreciate that!
Absolutely gorgeous, really like the combination of woods.
Thank you very much!
I’m on my third video of yours in a row. I swore to myself that I would have gone to bed an 1.5 hours ago (after the 1st one). Excellent craftsmanship!! These boards are beautiful. I am eagerly awaiting the cups & bowls from the ‘offcuts’. I was hoping you might be making smaller sized cutting boards- like for bartending/ smaller needs.🤞
I haven’t subscribed to any channel in forever, but I now I can hardly wait for what comes next. ☮️💕&🍩
That is great! I love it. Thank you thank you. I actually have some 12.5 x 11 coming up in this next batch. No bowls for a little while. The orders are out of control right now and have my work cut out for me for a bit.
Lots of work!! Nicely done.
Absolutely stunning. And the wooden cups are looking awesome. too. Thanks for sharing your work.
Thank you, much appreciated.
I gotta try to make a small batch like this over the year, and see if they sell here in Norway. Thanks for a realistic edit, showing all that sanding :D
Hi Torbjorn from Norway! Good luck, hope it works out for you. Thanks. Cheers!
Lag dem, jeg vil kjøpe noen fra deg.
Torbjørn Våga God ide, fra Danmark...
I am sure it will work out for you. People adore wood and those are such beautiful objects. Don't forget there's Etsy for handmade products sell too.
Oh, you answer everybody? I'd like to see you do that when you're at a million subscribers 😈 loved the boards. great work❤️
Haha!! Well I sure try to. If it gets any crazier then that last spike the past 3 weeks I wont be able to. Thank you thank you!
You are an inspiration, small shop, lower end power tools, can do attitude. Thanks for posting.
Thank you, really appreciate that!
Great work Kris. They're good looking boards.
I see why they sold so quickly, they're beautiful man!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
@@KrisDeVo Beautiful work. What I didn't see though was a link or description of where and how to buy one? Yes, I realize these are sold, referring more to future batches.
I do have my contact info in the description. Thanks!
@@KrisDeVo Thanks, maybe I overlooked it. Will check again.
Dang, if I bought one of those, I'd hang it on the wall, because they look too good to use as a cutting board! Awesome work! I would love to get into some wood working, but unfortunately have no where to put the equipment, or the money to buy it!
You dont really need much to make something like this. All of it can be done with hand tools which take up barely any space. When working with power tools you're trading labor for space, they require virtually zero labor but the tools are huge.
Thanks Diesel!
I just realized I have been WAY undercharging for my work. Thanks and nice work.
Brilliant work!!!
The red tape on your fingertips almost gave me a heart attack!
Haha! Yeah its janky but works really well actually.
@@KrisDeVo I forgot to say, BEAUTIFUL work!
Dumb guy question, what does the tape do exactly?
@@patrickpaez my guess is to prevent splinters when handling.
It saves me from splinters while letting the wood slide over my fingers
What is the most “white” wood you used? I have some read heart and ebony. I want to make one with red, black, and white.
Maple is the most white. But like all woods with oil, sun and time they turn dark.
Impeccable work and craftsmanship Kris; really inspiring video!
Thank you very much! Appreciate the kind words. Cheers
Great job. I really like the content, and it was your channel that got me back into woodworking. I made a bunch of charcuterie boards for Christmas this year. Stay safe and warm in Alaska!
Thanks CJ! Really appreciate that. Awesome to see you get back into it!
i would like to be reincarnated as a board going into the mineral oil bath
😂😂😂
Yeah, looks soothing 😎
A mineral oil bath sounds great; even a hot tub, or a high end steam room; that sounds pretty good too,
but reincarnation hmm; fiction won't do much for anyone.
@@DanKoning777 oh, you took John literally ...hehehe
i make them too - not as pretty/grand as yours
I hope people don't actually cut on these boards.
Part of the beauty of making something that is both beautiful and useful is watching it naturally age with use and time, kind of similar to leather boots. This is only the case though if you properly maintain the item.
Just stumbled across your page today and oh man!! You’re a true inspiration to small garage woodworkers everywhere!!!
Thank you for the kind words, really appreciate that!
Can’t even start to tell you how impressed I am with with your craftsmanship.
Consider myself a woodworker till I watched you.
Love doing it regardless. Thank you for sharing.
Appreciate that
Thanks for making such a detailed video man, I know how much work that is alongside such a big job already.
You bet, really glad you liked it. Thank you!
Too beautiful to use but really nice to look at. Superb craftsmanship.
Thank you! Cheers!
Exelente trabajo kris!!! Eres un profesional, un buen ejemplo a seguir, me inspiras para dedicarme a las maderas. Un abrazo desde La Paz Bolivia 🇧🇴
Hola Chris de La Paz Bolivia! ¡Realmente aprecio eso gracias!
Wow. How multi-talented you are. A blessed man. I enjoyed this and only wish I could do that!
Really appreciate the kinds words, thank you!
awesome info and video, I'm actually from the valley and starting a metal/wood working shop. nice to see others in Alaska with the same passion
Thats great! Good luck to you and cool seeing another Alaskan here too.
Found your site just by chance, Watched it and was truly impressed with your workmanship.. A master... Once again thank you for taking the time to make such wonderful videos of truly amazing work. In less than ideal conditions...
Appreciate the kinds words, thank you!
Absolutely fabulous boards and so colourful! Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for the lesson! I really like your use of the scrap ends for making bowls!
You are so welcome! Glad you liked the video.
Superb video, well done, all from a very compact space. Im well impressed.
Thanks Alan. Really appreciate it!
Haha thank you! Loved your comment about sanding for two hours straight! My first commercial finish carpentry gig was creating prepared panels for a commercial installation. Laminated bamboo, two of us cut, edged, sanded and oiled about a thousand board feet of Plyboo to a complex and exacting cut list. Two weeks of work. Stuff smells like cat pee, and dulls tools, sandpaper, and your attitude in a hot minute. Anyway, thanks for the vid, and appreciate your attention to detail on long production jobs. Anyone who ain't done it, don't know what it takes.
Haha! Love this comment Bill, thank you! Being a finish carpenter (besides this) I feel your pain too! Except I haven't worked with bamboo which is supposed to be horrible like you say. My wife said I shouldn't include that part about sanding but I said, if you know then you know and you can relate lol. Cheers!
that stuffs like $600 a sheet, made some cabinets from it and it was the hardest material i've ever had to build with.. could barely drill or cut it and god forbid tried to shoot a brad nail in it. stuffs freaking bullet proof thought if you manage to get something built with it
Awesome work and congrats on the fruits of your labor!
Thank you so much!
Really nice job!! The paterns are some of the best`s ones I ever seen and beaufiful wood by the way, thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them! Thank you
Awesome job, truly professional
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video, I learned some new techniques that I will use on my next cutting board project. Thanks!
Thank you Vincent! Cheers
Beautiful results and alot of fine detail work. It looks like art..
Thank you! Cheers!
Well done, It is a beauty colour.
The wood colors of the cutting boards are superbly in harmony with each other .
Well done,
Bravo
Thank you so much!
I love getting to see the driving, I miss Alaska.
Incredible work! They look stunning my man.
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful work and craftsmanship

Those are some gorgeous cutting boards!
Very Nice work! Excellent payoff for your time and energy. Great detail and variation in the butcher blocks.
Thank you, appreciate the kind words. Cheers!
I really enjoyed watching you. Thanks so much; am I envious of your workshop OH YES. A real craftsman.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
Congratulations dude. 😁👍 love your work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! Just wow! New to all of this been trying to combat cabin fever (PTSD, anxiety, other shit) and
criminal tendencies, thank you and a few others for helping me stay out thus far, I'm thankful for everyday that I can do things like this, it's a struggle everyday but I'd glady struggle out here then inside anyday 🙂 seriously thank you!
thank you! Good luck with your struggles. Wish you all the best!
Really lovely work, you can't beat real craftsmanship.. Well done
Thank you, really appreciate that!
Ce que vous fabriquez est MANIFIQUE !!!
Félicitations pour ce travail.
Thank you!
Really enjoy your videos. Nice to see your tool collection is growing with your business. I thought I was working in a tight space (10x20) but wow, you lay out your work. Great tips for me since I'm just now getting into cutting boards. Woodworking hobbyist for 30+ years but just recently made my first cutting board. Beautiful to see that grain come alive. Keep at it.
Really appreciate the kind words David. Thank you and good luck to ya
Very happy for you.
Thank you!
God damnit, Kris, another amazing video! Hope to get to your level of detail with your pieces!
Haha! Thanks Milked Ice, hope you get there too.
Totally agree! I would never allow to anyone put a knife on this beauty's. Congrats man, amazing work you've done!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
such beautiful work Sir!! Each cutting board is a highly esthetic object!!! amazing craftsmanship and good taste.

beautiful work!!! ESPECIALLY in such tight quarters.
Thank you very much!
Amazing project.Thank you so much for sharing your wnderful work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Keep up the good work. You definitely make some beautiful pieces.
Thank you very much!
Just found you yesterday, fabulous work. Saw you using your Bucktool sander. Ordered one last night after reading reviews. Have needed a new one for some time. Now have to find space in the shop for it haha.
Nice work, especially in that tiny shop. Well done.
Thank you! Appreciate that. Cheers!
Great work! Thanks for sharing! I wish I had a one car garage space for my workshop but we all seemingly make do whatever the space we have! 👍
Thank you, appreciate that! Yes we do for sure.
My workshop is in the house. I converted one of the downstairs rooms! I don't have a driveway, let alone a garage!
Beautiful work Kris! Thanks for sharing your process. I shopped a few things on your ‘tools’ list. I’m a new subscriber!!
Thanks for the sub and shopping a few things! I really appreciate that, cheers!
I remember making cutting boards exactly like this
Outstanding Kris! The process that you go through to make these boards is not just impressive but 1st class quality... Thank you for sharing. I just subscribed. Friend in Arizona
Thank you friend in Arizona! Really appreciate that.
Excellent ! one of my next project !
Nice boards! I just started making them, and they are by far my best seller. I'll have to keep the mass production route in mind. So far I've been making them 2 or 3 at a time.
Thanks! Yeah the large production definitely helps with time into them.
Those color and species combos are fantastic! Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful work, you are a true craftsman. And love the use of your remaining scraps. I would imagine you could put together some crazy pen blanks with your scrap collection.
Thank you very much! I actuly gave some to a guy for pens. Might be a good idea to put together and sell. Thanks for the idea.
That was awesome and inspiring. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Use to have a small commercial wood shop years ago with about 4000 square feet of space where I made unfinished pine furniture, trophy parts, plaques, shields, cutting boards, golf tees, pool ques, etc. I was in my 20's (over 55 years ago) ... worked by myself and sold to about 30 businesses. Was teaching college at the same time and did my woodworking about 2 days a week. Managed to buy most of my machines at auctions (best way to start a business since used woodworking equipment can often be bought at deep discounts if you keep your eyes open and follow all the industrial sales) . Several of the tools I owned worked well with plaques and wood turning. Had large panel saw, Italian back knife lathes for spindles, cues , bats. Gang gluing clamps (great for the cutting boards). Also 3 station heavy duty shaper, paint booth, powder coating equipment, drying ovens. Wanted to stay in business but many of the products I made were being undercut by off-shore producers and I would have needed to make the jump to much larger production levels to make decent living ... this was before the internet where everything was related to Price. So I packed it in, sold my gear and just became a full time ivory tower egghead ... not a lot of money but much easier to do.
I really like your choice of wood species ... beautiful color choices. Good luck in your future endeavors ... I know you'll do well ... hope you can expand into bigger shop .... you'll find it's a lot easier to get things done efficiently. Bob Campbell ... an old guy just trying to survive this damn Covid-19
Really appreciate the kind words Bob. That sounds like a pretty serious business you had going. Thanks for the advice. Will look into auctions more, sure hope to have a bigger shop soon. Thanks Bob
@@KrisDeVo ... Kris, operating at home in your garage is a tough way to work but I did the same when I first started. I had an old detached 2 car garage that I heated with a cheap tin wood-burning stove ... it's a wonder I didn't burn the damn thing down. Did it for 2 years and then moved into more space in an old historic Civil War fabric mill just outside of Baltimore ... cool location ... I moved to a larger area a couple years later in the same old factory ... stayed there for another 3 years ... then decided to get serious about teaching and became tenured in the business college nearby ... have 2 great kids (they're in their late 40's) and the rest is history as they say. Woodworking is a very competitive business because it is fairly easy to get started from an equipment standpoint ... to make a lot of money you've got to grow the business. Your approach will work since you have positioned yourself in a niche market ... (i.e. high quality, good design, low volume sales at high prices ... it works) ... you won't become a millionaire but I can tell you love working with wood. A word of warning from this ole geezer ... be sure to always wear a respirator ... I had a friend who loved woodworker as much as I do, he wore his mask sometimes, sometimes not ... he died of white lung which is as bad as smoking ... just be safe my friend
Thank you for the nice read Bob. Im sure you were/are a great woodworker. We will see where this goes, I'm going to try and run with it as long as I can. I do try and wear my respirator all the time when its needed. I also run 2 air filters for woodworking to help. Cheers Bob.
As a woodworker that is new to the hobby, you are insanely inspiring! AMAZING work buddy!
Thank you thank you! Really appreciate that!
