Bastrop still has things a civilized family could enjoy 30=40 years ago, outdoor theater, outdoor fountains a thriving downtown area with a good comic book and collectibles selection.
🌳Every city lot shall have a minimum of 2 native loblolly pines planted & all parking wastelands shall be mitigated by native trees between each parking row.

Yea boutiques but what you can buy here? Something that you don't need lol Bastrop lacks of supermarkets, restaurants and simple business centers with some convenient services. Long lines at HEB isn't fun. It would be nice to have other supermarket than Walmart and HEB. Oh well, we have bunch of dollar stores and RV parks. Chilli's had hard time getting permits to build their restaurant, almost fought for it. It would be nice to have Torchy's or other chain restaurants. And I don't even mention roads and traffic. Yes, they built few new subdivisions but where is infrastructure??? 6 months for new patient to wait a simple appointment at Family doctor.
From a business/ profit POV, the population is still a really low < 10K. But no major cities in TX haven't sprawled in every possible direction so far & Bastrop is so close to Austin. The wait for more commerce & competition won't be long, y'all. It's what they do here

👋 As of right now, no, but there is a lot of development out that way. The Perry sales rep told us she thought a Target was one of the new things coming, but as you can see in the video that have a TON of land cleared for commercial development that is coming!
@@livinginATXnow it sounds like Bastrop will be ruined in the next few years with rampant growth. That is unfortunate.
Target was planned many years ago and shot down by the city planners but things have changed. That being said, Target is still a dream as there are no current permits, plans, or developers that we are aware of that are building a Target. We know the previous developer who tried to build the Target years ago, he is not currently pursuing developing it now.@@livinginATXnow

You are correct! I spend a lot of time in both places. So are you considering a move to both of those places or did you move on to Texas instead of MS?
@@livinginATXnow no. I was visiting Memphis for vacation last year and found it extremely fascinating and then saw your videos. Then this year I vacationed in Austin and found it fascinating and stumbled upon your videos again but a different city.
Please dont move to Bastrop. We dont need it screwed up like Austin.
