      @Arnold Hilter So once this statement is proven factual, where do we go from here? I think Michael was saying we could focus on the race aspect of it for days and weeks on end. However, we should instead be trying to figure out what caused such a drastic shift politically for a lot of minority communities, and how we can fix this situation. He wasn't dodging or insisting he was right, but more so trying to move past this affirmation and have the conversation further expanded on. Just my opinion though not saying I'm right either.

      The argument wasn't even addressed. Knowles went back in history to say that things in the future don't have to be the way they are now, without addressing at all how to get there, and to a degree laying blame on the kid for asking the question. Mass immigration DOES fracture a society, erode trust, and seems demonstrably damaging to the native population. Argument not addressed, not demolished, Knowles is a nobody. I hear your point and have thought the same at times growing up as a conservative brown American. What I will say is that both parties have these fringe actors that believe in such racially reductive ideals, but the difference is that people who line up with this ideology on the right are becoming more and more extinct and ostracized. No mainstream conservative would ever say "demographics is destiny", at least not without major pushback.
      However, a mainstream, left-wing source like the LA Times sharing the same ideology as the alt-right doesn't seem to make anyone on the democratic side of the aisle bat an eye. Whereas this sort of thinking is becoming more and more shamed on the right, it's becoming more and more accepted on the left. Ironically, it's this dying breed of conservative that will always be highlighted by that same mainstream, left-wing media to help exonerate themselves of their own bigoted views

They enslaved the world, they built their ''civilised'' societies, now they are falling because people from ex colonies come on their heads and they need support because....whites don't multiply no more. While some of Knowles' points are accurate, saying multi-racial states like Texas vote Republican doesn't defeat the kid's argument. If it's only a red state because of the white voters....which are shrinking...then it WILL flip to permanently blue....along with every other state. The fact that it's multi-racial doesn't help Knowles' argument in any way if only whites are voting Republican.

    • @orphanedhanyou
      @orphanedhanyou Před 4 lety

      The point is in the hypocrisy of the statement. Republicans are racist but race determines your vote? Flipping to blue isn't due to race=dna as if certain genetics make you one of the 'clear headed logical compassionate races of the future vs those bigoted backwards Caucasians'. While more flips to blue may happen that isn't solely due to race and as with many repeated failures after the collapse of far left government's the true determination of votes, people's hearts and minds, will go back to the middle. And history confined to repeat itself.

      Because certain demographics are correlated with certain cultural or political patterns over a given time period? Correlation is not causation. We’ve gone over this tactic: all Knowles did was reframe, cherry pick and pivot the question, as he never even answered the original.
      The original question was framed in California. It doesn’t matter that Maine, NH and VT vote blue, being the white majority states. It doesn’t follow that then whites all over the country still didn’t vote overwhelmingly republican, all he did was erase the question (and the other 45 states which California was the main focus to).
      He then goes on a whole tangent about black people.
      Cubans are literally an exception, exactly one subset, so using an exception to disprove the rule or trend is ridiculous as he literally erased the rest Mexicans, Peruvians, Guatemalans, etc all other Latinos who vote Democrat.

The young and gullible are left leaning, and lean more right the more they learn and the more they grow, regardless of race. If they don't, among all races, it's because of manipulation by the Democratic Party, MSM, and the decades of Democrats keeping minorities in their pockets by promising to give and give and give, keeping them dependent, angry, and of course, with less, always pointing the finger at the wrong people. Race inherently has nothing to do with it. That's been proven time and time again with countless Republican and conservative minorities. If you see a majority of a certain ethnic group or race or skin color voting one way, and instead of using critical thinking and really asking why, you just want to get rid of them and not fix the problem, you're an idiot, and a racist. Whites in States with much larger non-White populations tend to be much more conservative. Mississippi is a good example. The redest state in the Union is also the Black-est. The nearly 40% of Black Mississippians vote around 90% Democrat. The only reason Republicans win is because the White population there is almost as unified behind the Republican Party as Blacks are behind the Democratic Party. The kid’s “gotchya” plan crashed into the ground at that point.
      Sometimes leftists and sometimes alt-rightists try these questions on conservative speakers like Shapiro, Knowles, and Peterson- it’s almost always badly motivated and I think “wrecked” is an appropriate description of what these speakers do to those students’ malicious ambitions.

      @Hardev Singh Actually the kid's argument was sound. (And I write for Daily Wire so I'm a MK fan). He was basically saying that as trends NOW stand Hispanics vote Democrat. Name for me one state that the more Hispanic it has become the redder it's become. When I was kid California was solidly Republican. As was Arizona and New Mexico (Goldwater country). Now CA is solid blue and the others purple. Demographics, in this case the massive influx of poor and illiterate Hispanics (not educated and entrepreneurial Cuban exiles from two generations ago) into a Welfare state--previous mass waves didn't move into the Great Society but rather a capitalist arena--has far-reaching implications.
      Do you honestly think the Democrats would be pushing open borders, chain migration, amnesty, and other pro-illegal policies if they saw in them future REPUBLICAN voters?
      It's not "bigotry" to properly state current demographic trends re: voting. Facts are facts. Again...no state gets more Hispanic and redder does it? Why?

    Now I think Knowles has a point (which is a positive to me because I expected him to give a complete bs answer to the question just like Shapiro & Charlie Kirk. I really like the guy and didn't want to come away thinking of him as a liar.) That said, "3 out of the 5 whitest states voted Democrat" is not an argument against the fact that white males are literally the only group to consistently favor Republicans. Demographics is not destiny but in every metric our destiny is very clear. The Republicans will either have to continue their slide to the left and end up where the progressives are now in another 15 years or die off to be replaced by a contest between two leftists parties. A halt on immigration would be reversed by activist judges & international influence, we all know it. Our school indoctrination systems are only getting worse and we know it. Leftist influence on business & corporations is only growing, we know it. Censorship and radical left attacks on mild republicans are just becoming more accepted as "truth" by the general population. So can someone tell me how we're gonna reverse the voting trends? Any power we have to do anything to reverse this is slipping away fast. By current trends Texas will go purple then blue and then it's over.
    So can someone please start presenting us with a path forward that isnt just more capitulation forever? Because no matter how many times republicans point out the systematic brainwashing of America, nobody does anything about it in any practical way. Just showing people the benefits of free markets and liberty is not working against the left's bioleninist strategy. What will? In order to gain more votes in the midst of the Great Depression, FDR implemented his Great Deal program. It was an economic work and stimulation program funded and directed by the gov't to build America's infrastructure. Since they gained the right to vote, virtually all blacks voted Republican, and then shifted to voting Democrat in the promise of getting jobs to better their economic futures. In reality, the program favored hiring white workers over blacks with only some blacks securing jobs. In the following decades, it was the Democrats who took up the mantle of social welfare and the Progressivism movement of the late 19th to early 20th century, because of how effective welfare promises were in securing more votes. That was the break that Democrats needed coming out of the Civil War, as their party represented the South whose members were Confederates.
    As it turns out, immigrants and minorities tended to be poor, who came to America for the promise of a better future. They were easy targets for Democrats, who flocked to cities for work inside factories. As time went on, promises of social welfare programs shifted some of the votes to them. That is the "party switch" myth that the left claims. They also falsely claim that Nixon's Southern Strategy was the final nail in the coffin for the switch, but fail to recognize that a more vitriolic version of that strategy had been and simultaneously was used by the Democrats. Yet Nixon's motivation for that strategy was to gain the votes of racist whites, and not because the parties switched (if Republicans already had their votes, then the strategy wouldn't have been needed; i.e. because they were _still_ Democrats). That strategy was dropped after Nixon. And the claim that voting demographics changed because of it is largely nonsensical, as for EVERY general election year from 1960 to 1980, most of the Southern states "switched" parties. In reality, the shifting election results were due to changing policies.

    Knowles “3 of 5 Whitest States voted majority democrat” argument is idiotic for two reasons. 1) The fact that some whites in some states voted majority democrat does not disprove the fact that whites are the only demographic, overall, to show real malleability in their voting patterns and to currently lean majority right wing. 2) Whites voting democrat in some states in no way disproves the fact that non whites do the same, except they do it uniformly at the local, state, and federal level. Blacks routinely vote 80+, sometimes 90+% democrat. Hispanics vote something like 60-75% democrat every time (“nuh uh! Look at Flo-“.
