- The screen on the iPhone 11 may have been strengthened through a dual ion-exchange process, but it’s not indestructible. Drops can cause cracked and shattered screens, but replacing the screen in your iPhone 11 is pretty easy, and you don’t need to rely on Apple to do it for you.
Make sure you follow the step by step guide on iFixit.com when you are doing your repair.

Before screwing back the brackets its a good idea to power on the phone and check the display. If something's wrong, turn off the phone, disconnect the battery and check whether the flex cables have been properly connected.
Yep. Last thing you want is to find out you didn't properly connect a flex cable and have to re-open the whole phone again.
Wow I was thinking of saything the exact same thing.
and it’s good to reprogram new screen
nah, I like to live my life on the edge
@@tetaizozadja7080 I know what you are referring to. I used the JC-1V read/write gizmo to program the new 3rd party screen.
I do this everyday and i have a few recommendations to make this easier. When removing the clip over the ambient light sensor go in from the side with your tweezers and not from the top or bottom. Heat the screen a good amount(if the screen is damaged and your throwing it away) and use you tweezers like a lever and get under the clear bracket and lever the entire clear bracket up from both sides then it will be much easier to get the mic off and the light sensor will come out of the clear bracket. This method is the safest way to remove all the sensors without causing any damage to them and the easiest way to remove the mic with all the adhesive and protective mesh.
Who do u recommend buying screens from
@@davidamaya8813 We use Injured Gadgets and Mobile defenders for screens and parts. For batteries we use Ifixit. If you are replacing android screens i always recommend using the OEM screens with frames. I rarely ever put a screen in without the frame as one part. For Samsung get the service packs. They are from Samsung and are original parts. MD and IG sell them. Screen w/frame. They are sealed better and are always stronger.

Thank you for posting this. Saved us a lot of money. Followed the video step by step, and it went smooth the whole way. I didn't have the double suction cups so had to use two individual cups and used a hair dryer to heat the adhesive.

4:48 Be sure that your bracket is properly installed on the metal pin, not between the pin and the sensor. Also, at 3:54 you can pry up on your plastic camera bracket from the right with tweezers to lift up the proximity sensor more easily, reducing the risk of damaging it. It is also good practice to transfer the adhesive left behind from the microphone seen at 4:30 to your new screen. At 6:13 also make sure to check the right side of the phone to ensure your display cables won't get pinched. Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently nudge the cables away from the edge of the frame.

I owe you bro you made replacing my daughters screen a breeze. Great instructions
I'm trying to find someone who knows what they are doing to answer a tough question. I am replacing the back housing on my iPhone 11. I purchased a back housing and behind the tiny hole next to the camera lenses is supposed to be some sort of cover that possibly has to do with the mic? My housing is has nothing here so you can see right through the hole to the outside. It is just above the power and LED flash and top mic cable. I tried removing this from my old housing using heat and being as careful as humanly possible, but it was extremely hard to remove and I messed it up. Any idea what this is and if I can buy it somewhere? I have looked and looked, but there is no info about it. Thanks!
I did it!! And everything is fine including Face ID! Getting the screen off took WAY more heating than said in the video though, and quite a lot of trial and error on the very cracked screen with some tape and the suction cup. The 000 screws were also an absolute pain to get out even with the right bit. I had to apply loads of downward pressure just to loosen them. Some did not budge even then... Thankfully, I figured you can get away with taking only most of them out and careful bending the small metal sheets to access and unplug/replug the bits under them. I also found that the flex cables on the new screen did not quite fit around the L shaped metal plate: the cables were running over where the screws would have to go. So I didn't bother putting the L shaped metal plate back in at all. It's fine! When you boot up again you get an error message from the phone about third party hardware, but everything works just like before except you do not have TrueTone anymore. I looked it up and it seems that since the iOS 16.5 update it is much more difficult to use a programmer like the JCV or iCopy to restore TrueTone whilst reassembling the phone. Since those are worth £100 or more and the alternative would be getting a proper repair from Apple, for which they currently charge a whopping £220, I figured I can live without. This kit costs £60 so compared to getting it fixed by Apple you would be spending an extra £160 just to retain TrueTone... Not worth it imo! Personally I can barely tell the difference now it is disabled so it cannot have been that useful :D
Thank you iFixit for this amazing guide :)
Anyone know the name of the music in this video? It's on fire! Kinda like the note 7
Hey man, very good explained thanks!
I followed the steps, but the flex cables of the display are shrewd. Is there still any possibility to fix it ?
Your literally the best bro thx
Though the iPhone 11 is starting to get old as of writing this comment, note that if you have a tool to rewrite the display serial number you will still be able to retain True Tone but on iOS 17 you will still get a message in settings saying “unable to verify part”
Hi! I have little to no knowledge about iPhone hardware. I’m planning on replacing my screen as shown in the video, but I’m not sure what you mean by this. Is that message in Settings just one that pops up that I can dismiss? Or will my phone completely reject the new part? (For context, I have an iPhone 11 pro and iOS 17.4.1)
@@juanitarust it will pop up as a notification that can be dismissed upon first reboot, but will remain as a more for you’re iPhone message in settings that won’t go away. Replacing the display will result in the loss of True Tone, replacing the battery will loose the ability to see the battery health, and replacing the front camera or ear speaker will loose Face ID
Moral to the story Apple made it to where you can only get your phone repaired by them for everything to still be functioning properly. And for what it’s worth better off just buying a new phone unless you have Apple care.
I have a few questions.
How does the new screen compare to the original display on the iphone 11?
What is the touch sensitivity compared to the original?
Are the display/visuals similar or significantly worse?
Do you have to worry about the truetone on the iphone 11? Do yo have to copy the screen data from old screen to thenew one (with icopy or similar tool)?
Im thinking to buy an iPhone 11 second hand. But it has a LED screen, is it a good idea to buy it? Will there be a problem for not using the original iPhone 11 LCD screen?
Hello !! Please i have a question if the iphone got it’s screen changed after that there won’t be any damage right ?! I mean it won’t stop working after some months
Does this keep the Face ID functioning as normal or does it have consequences?
Glad someone knows how to do this cuz I’m sure not going to. Too high a risk of serious damage to phone to save a fairly small amount of money. Interesting video.
Great fix

I am 67 years old, and I’m scared to death. But I have everything I need, I’m not going to pay $80 to have someone do this for me when I can do it for around $20. Your tutorial is well done. Thank you for your time. I’ll let you know.
does anyone know if you need to flash a screen to get true tone? i remember that once being a thing
of course you have to… this video shows poor fixing… and if you don’t want to have non original screen warning in your settings you have to replace the chip from the original screen to a new screen so you have to know how to solder… this is very poor service
Do you have to programme the new iphone 11 screen at all or can I just install it?
i bought the ifixit screw driver set and i can't seem to be alble to unscrew the screws on my Iphone11 and i even tried doing it on my iphone 7 and it just doesn't come out any tips?
im talking about the 2 bottem screws by the charger port i cant even get past step 1 - Im using the drill bit that is on the right side 3 rows down and the midle one it says s2 0.8
My two cents. If you’re old like me or just have bad eyes up the magnification of the reading glasses. I use 1.5 normally, but would go as high as possible if I do this job again. The screws and screwdriver tips are so small they were just blurs and it took a while to figure out which tools included in kit went to which screws. Also keep those screws in order by placing them on the sticky side of tape when removed. That trick saved me. Also my tools were magnetized, but you have to place tool tip in screw head then slide fingers up tool shaft until past screw and it is still sitting properly on the tip. Took me a 1/2 hour to figure this out with first screw, then got a lot easier.
Great video thanks!!
Thanks this was really helpful but I striped a couple screws, do u know how to fix that?

Hello, I just changed my screen watching your video. Thank you so much. I have an issue though. Screen works great, no issues. But after switching screen the phone speaker (the ear speaker) does not work. When the phone is "on speaker" works fine. But not when not on speaker. Also even more strange. I can only call one person. Any time I try and call anyone else I get an error message stating I cannot make this call. Seems very strange the new screen works great. Could I have some how crossed connections or something??? I'm very puzzled. Any help 🙏?? Thanks
Hi Jimmy, open the phone and check to make sure that the ear speaker is seated correctly. There is also a possibility that when you removed the sensor you could have torn a part of it, the sensor cables are sensitive and delicate. You may have to replace it but by replacing it you'll lose FaceiD. So just go over your work again and take your time, also make sure the cable is seated correctly.
