    ****** at 5:45 when he says “ and this whole piece comes right out “ be aware , on some phones where the piece makes contact with the back of the front cover , it is sometimes glued . It will come off but pull it gently but firmly . Or pry using plastic on the parts themselves not on the black ribbon cable ( the bit that’s all flexible ) .

    Question; are gloves necessary, or just ensure hands are free of oils?
    Also, the OEM screen replacements have a new gasket with it. Does the old one require complete removal?

    • @UbergeeksBiz
      @UbergeeksBiz  Před rokem +1

      Gloves just for my hands free from oils.
      If gasket comes with it, just carefully remove the flex cable. Whichever way easier for you

  • @davidnelson3026
    @davidnelson3026 Před rokem +2

    to get true tone color, you need to remove a chip from the old screen to swap it with the new screen, then with JC programmer P13 you can save the chip data from the old one and copy it to the new screen chip. then place that chip on the new screen.

    After repairing my screen, the phone won't display anything at all. I thought it might be the charge and so I plugged it in and left it over night but the phone still does not display. What it does do is make the "plugged in" sound and that's about it. What did I do wrong?

    • @UbergeeksBiz
      @UbergeeksBiz  Před 2 lety

      Try disconnect the battery cable. And reconnect the battery cable. That should fix it.

    • @justinm2046
      @justinm2046 Před 2 lety

      If it makes the plugged in sound, it doesn’t seem it would be a battery issue? The battery must be working to give it the sound?
      There may be an issue with a connection on the screen. Would seem unfortunately that u might have to reopen and redo the process, carefully looking over the ribbon cables and making sure nothing is torn and that all the Lego connections are secure

    Display message applies to genuine replacement parts as well. You can install a water resistant seal to keep the water resistance. Don't ever use an aftermarket screen, use a refurbished apple display, as they can cause unwanted software issues. They aren't that hard to find and they aren't too much more than a copy. Also use a true tone programmer such as the JC-V1S, this will correctly calibrate the new display. Most third party displays don't support the true tone and data copy feature unfortunately.

    • @UbergeeksBiz
      @UbergeeksBiz  Před 2 lety +1
