Not his only option. He can always remove the occupation forces and stop murdering Ukrainians...
But then he will have to give up his imperial dreams and I don't think he will be able to do that, Karsten.
@@tureytayno3154 I differ. I understand your point. However, it's a big however, the people, at one point, will revolt against him, if they stand up against him.
That would be it for Putin. It would make him look weak and Russians like strength. We need to stop kidding ourselves and pretending it's only Vladimir Putin who's causing trouble. There's many more like him as well as millions of Russians who support the war
Exactly.
If Russia orchestrated a coup in Mexico or Canada, then inserted their candidate as President or Prime Minister and then said they were going to allow Mexico/Canada to join a military alliance and have Russian missiles stationed in Mexico/Canada, do you thing the US would be ok with it?
See also the US invasion of Cuba in the 60s.
Pushed to breaking point ? How about LEAVE Ukraine ?
That's entirely inconsistent with putler believing he will be remembered as an equal of Nicholas I reign.
It's hard to comprehend narcissists and psychopaths behaviour.
It is the West that is pushed to breaking point. That is why they have greatly depleted their arsenals in order to meet Ukraine's request for more and more weapons.

👍
well, if someone comes to you with the knife and you show him gun than person with knife start screaming all around how you threat him actually, and how you even dare to threat him because he *just came with the knife on you* - hope your brain can grasp how arrogant, delusional and pathetic your comment is
Agree. Russia has been using Korean and Chinese munitions in Ukraine so Ukraine using foresight munitions and tech is Fair Play.Putin is playing the classic victim card which he has done all through this war.
You help him by spreading your panic, you give him exactly what he wants your fear is exactly why he threatens us, do you like helping him? Dogs smell fear, stop doing this!!!. If he wants it so bad we all die including him, his wife his children etc. that who live mostly in europe. M.A.D.
Rusia must pull out of Ukraine.
The reason for invading Ukraine concerned territorial security so it makes no sense just to pull out.
You can try🤣🤣🤣
Nooo...the west had to leave ukraine stop supporting them.
Russia is using weapons from other countries in Ukraine. They have no argument against western weapons used on Russian territory. And yes, what exactly would Russia do? Another nuclear threat?
And also Russian weapons have been used all over the planet against the west, did we blame Russia every time someone used an AK-47 against our troops? The Russian arguments are truly desperate.
Russia is the ultimate "Do as I say, not as I do" hypocrite. They have perfected bullying tactics on an international scale - they run around punching & kicking everyone in sight, but the moment someone gives them a taste of their own medicine, they run screaming to the adults and claim that they are the victim.
Wot this guy says. I do not understand why it isn't a talking point.
Rus bombs and shoots missiles into residential apartments, deliberately attacking civilians. Repeatably for years now. How is this not a massive red line? Am I missing something?
The nuclear threats are hilarious 😂
Can't survive without taking foreign territory already having the world's largest landmass.
Dora it does not really make sense for him to pay the ultimate price for extra territory. Putin has created a fearful mess by miscalculating how the Ukrainians would respond to his invasion.
Vast swath of rural vacancy that russia, same can be said about its surplus of stockholm syndrome.
Or at least he thinks so, Dora.
What do you say about Texas and Califonia stolen by U.S infact U.S too is a stolen land...any opinion?
It’s not about landmass.. it’s about the loss of the Eastern Bloc countries when the Soviet Union was dissolved.. Putin wants them back.. He considers control of Eastern Europe as Russias past and future destiny.
The United States also has a big red button and ours works
United States and Nato is a joke. A corrupt circus of the dumbest of the dumb fighting for resources. That know nothing about Ukraine, Russia or this war. Bunch of clowns living in their own ilusion of power, reading lines of a script.
Russia isnt backed into any nuclear corner like the man being interviewed says, putins army can leave the occupied territory of ukraine and pay back the damages
Well they are going to do neither of those.
Does any thinking person believe that a Russian soldier wants to die for Putin in a nuclear war instead of going home to his family?

When Putin talks about nuclear power it is because things are going very badly for him in Ukraine so it is a signal for the Ukrainians not to let up the pressure!!!
They only mention nukes when they panic.
According to the previous commander in chief of Ukraine (General Zaluzhny) Ukraine had one shot at victory and that was the summer counter offensive of 2023 which failed.
@@user-iu5vc5ki8p That’s obviously not true.
@@jakegerstein Your response is ambiguous. My remark was based on what I have heard. Regarding my claim that General Zaluzhny said that Ukraine had one shot at victory, the following report from the US think tank The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, justifies my comment: According to the institute Zaluzhny said that in a PROLONGED war Ukraine will run out of the required volume of missiles and ammunition while Russia, despite sanctions, is increasing its production capabilities. And even if it [Ukraine] didn’t run out of weapons, he added, it will run out of men: a war of attrition “leads to the lack of Ukraine's ability to achieve superiority over the enemy in reserves by increasing their number.” A close Zelensky aide told TIME that, even if the United States gave Ukraine all the weapons it needed, Kyiv doesn’t “have the men to use them.” In short General Zaluzhny is saying that to win we have to win fast.
@user-iu5vc5ki8p Yeah, I get what you are saying, I just don't think that assessment necessarily takes all of the current factors into account. Those predictions may be correct, but saying they have no chance to win seems like a pretty obvious oversimplification. Like, Prigozhin revolting is not the kind of thing those reports can account for.
Remember , he didn't have to start this. But he did.

Since the start of the special military operation Vladimir Putin is being seen as a respected statesmen by many countries around the world which is not the case for the political leaders in the West.
He can pull back his forces in Ukraine. One of the best deals in history, and he rather saves his own image than his people.
He is probably too deep in the sunk cost fallacy to back down.
That’s never going to happen…the Russians don’t care what the failing West thinks. Cope one losers.
His rule would not survive that. That is the ONLY Vladimir Putin cares about. As long as he is in power, he doesn't care how many people have to die. Putin is exactly like Trump in that way.

Very beautifully has said 👍
It's hard to see how Russia can get any advantage from the use of a nuclear weapon. The front is too dispersed for it to be effective and the Russian army so degraded that it couldn't operate in a nuclear environment anyway. So it would only be a political weapon - now could the west backdown because of it? Of course not because then it would be the Baltics and Poland and so on ... And how would the rest of the World react - well their main supporter China has indicated it would be unacceptable and for good reason, if Russia got away with it, Taiwan could probably go nuclear within a year and there goes China's future plans. Proliferation would go ballistic - literally.
And at the end of the day, Putin may be mad and order it but there are a lot of people under him in the chain of command who have families, Dacha's, foreign bank accounts with the proceeds of corruption .... are they going to risk that or will Putin get a Kalashnikov induced brain haemorrhage?
these days nukes do not have much radioactive fallout. destruction, yes.
I don't buy that, they have enough tactical nukes for them to be effective and there is no need to rush to the area after it has been nuked, nobody else is rushing there either. It's probably China and the political side that is the reason why even they have figured it would be a bad move on their part.
You are spot on
The only people that keep raving on about nuclear weapons are Western media and politicians. Putin's remarks have been in response to those when he has mentioned the topic.

What I take home from nearly an hour of Kate's and James' informative and very troubling at times interviews with some of the talking heads in know about geopolitics is that we live in a very dangerous world and that even when things cool down and the wars stop, we must not get fooled again into being submissive and turning off our defensive capabilities.
It's a dangerous world but the UK is in no danger of being invaded. We should spend the money on improving our collapsing infrastructure.
@@Withnail1969 Do Russian bots not realise how obvious they are?
The West (NATO) completely misjudged that they could beat Russia; the West was not fooled by Russia. The West have led an aggressive campaign against Russia that goes back years. They have been hoisted with their own petard and have only got themselves to blame for it.
@@Withnail1969 GGGGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. We're a few hours away across the channel from you, but of course you are right and add to that a long list of things that should never have been allowed to get so run down. However, the planet needs The United Kingdom as a superpower for stability and guaranteed peace. I believe Britain needs a space station which would put it on the same page as everyone else trying to get a piece of the action over our heads. A British Space Command center zooming out in space would send a message to belligerent powers like none other and give the British an eye in the sky. Space wars are just around the corner. In short, the UK has got the mentality to be a world power, because she has always been a global thunder cloud. The thing about money is that there is never enough, but funny enough, you can always find enough to start this project, or that one. Richard Branson has the rockets to space and a workable space station functioning is not something that is impossible. Time takes care of the rest---and the infrastructure.

It is not a viable option at all because the US , UK , France ( Nato ) all have nuclear subs all over the place and Nato has nuclear weapons on land also. So if Russia fired any nuclear weapons at least a 100 nukes would be going back at Russia . So mutual destruction is not a great winning tactic for either side . However if Russia keeps making threats then Nato might just decide to strike first and take out Russia's nuclear capability . Putin making those kind of threats is a dangerous game .
