  • Even a Fox News audience agrees that our progressive ideas are not radical. These are the ideas we need to bring to the general election to defeat Trump.
    ------------
    We're going to win this election and transform the country, but we can't do it alone. The way we win is person-to-person contact, knocking on doors and making the case for people to get out to vote. Are you in?

      there’s still a chance he could run against biden in 2024 for the democratic candidacy, it wouldn’t be unheard of. biden seems to be declining with age and it’s possible the democrats won’t see him as fit to run for re-election in four years’ time. bernie definitely hasn’t hit that stage yet but he’ll be in his 80s by then so it’s possible he’ll also be seeming older, it’s all guesswork at this point tho.

      Socialism is a spectrum. It means everything from having a living wage to having an entirely centralized, state controlled economy.
      I live half my life in a socialist country. I dont know if you are western and eastern, but you would also be suspicious of that word if you've ever tried to get a permit or visa or ANYTHING which involves going to a government ministry and dealing with bureaucrats and red tape.
      Makes you become a f4scist, because by the end you want to strangle everyone inside.
      Minimum wage and labour laws are good. A state controlled and regulated economy and lack of democratic representation is bad.

      @@immaheadout4777 but democrat are aligned with Biden, they are party of slobs without any identity except "we are the second party and we oppose republicans". If you watch what people are in power from democratic party you will find most centrist and sometimes more conservative people than on the republican side. Yes they are ranging from:
      -Social-democrats (Bernie) - centrist in Poland and rest of Europe (not even European Union because countries like UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland aren't a part of EU))
      -few actual 2-3 "leftist" which we would call slightly left wing in Poland and the rest of Europe (not even European Union because countries like UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland aren't a part of EU)
      -The liberal democrats which are 30-40% of Dem. party - capitalist view economy with sprinkle of regulations and maybe here and there some "leftist" ideas like public and accessible healthcare and education, and left on social issue: queer rights, feminists, - centrist/slightly right centrist in Poland and rest of Europe (not even European Union because countries like UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland aren't a part of EU)
      -Centrist 30-40% with most power, because they in 90% with republicans on things like gun control, milking money from the poor through insurance and college debt. So voting is always skewed because they vote together and by these "minority" votes they align with republican voters which passes the bill and no one can do anything about that. these people we call right wing in Poland and rest of Europe (not even European Union because countries like for example UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland aren't a part of EU)
      The only countries who are "right-wing" in Europe like Romania (I wonder why Tate went there), Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Ukraine (after the war they will probably go the path we [as in Poland] went and get amazing results. Most people don't even know this and call Poland communist eastern European country - we were never a part of USSR. And as of right now we are 20th economic power in the world no matter what economic indicator you look 15-23 with just 37mln people Texas-California sized country. Yes California has 3x our GDP but there are most of your profitable businesses in America AND we took 6 mln of Ukrainians in last 10 years, 5mln refugees and one million came to us with hope for a better life or to go further down EU. With just 37mln of population. Same as we did to UK, Germany and Netherlands before joining EU and after when we still were weak ("communist" government ceased to exist just in 1989. Yet you cry because Mexicans and South Americans migrate to you to the point that one of the point of Trump's candidature was "building war between USA and Mexico and you shoot them down like dogs on the border. Country 10x our size can't take 20 mln people, nice. Set aside that immigrants work for almost half of wage of typical American because it's still massive money in home country where they send money to the families, so you can coerce them and make insane profits of it. Another practice you guys are proud of is blackmail immigrants that if they don't work for $5 an hour, 12h/7days without day off you will rat them out for illegal immigration. Of course Belarus is puppet state of Russia so we don't talk about them like a country, especially after rigged election. I'm so sorry to all Belarusians, you are great people.
      // History lesson
      and we were strongest power in Europe for like 50 years starting with stupid liberum veto law which nearly took us down. Then Sweds just destroyed us and stole everything they could (no hard feeling ofc it's history) and in a span of hundred of years we ceased to exist thanks to Russia, Germany and Austria-Hungary. Sorry for small history lesson but I thought it was important to say that Belarus was once respected international power for almost 300 years to become puppet of Russia :(
      // History lesson over
      The one country I did not mention is Hungary, simply because they are of the charts and is literally right-wing with totalitarian tendencies, which should result in EU intervention or just kicking them outright of EU, that's not Union for people who think gay people aren't people and immigrants should be kicked out of the country. They aren't making mandatory marriage to all of EU countries as your propaganda might fed you but no. They just demand decency and most of EU laws are economical or just to not deny human rights to minorities. Of course Belarus is puppet state of Russia so we don't treat them like a country, especially after rigged election. Yet they still milk EU for every penny.

      The root of the problem, right there. How do the rich get the poor to fight amongst themselves? Convince them that the sides are not Rich and Poor. Convince them that the sides are Poor A and Poor B, and thus whoever "wins" and "loses" in these fights between the voting poor, someone rich will be there to assume the positions of power on behalf of their chosen camp in the fight they only pretend to care about. Winning or losing don't matter, only maintaining the appearance of a fight between one side and another side, where yours is presumed to be right and the other presumed to be wrong, matters. Because that's what distracts people from the real situation:
      Rich people constantly shitting all over the same hard-working citizens who EARN every penny those rich people suck up their many eloquently worded money-hoses. Rent. Loans. Gambling. Tax cuts. Bankruptcy bailouts. Prisons and modern slave labor. Exploitation-oriented health "care". Legal pharmaceutical tycoons causing deadly drug epidemics. Export of jobs to countries with cheaper wages. Import of undocumented immigrants to do the worst jobs at below-minimum wages under threat of deportation. And then there's the stock market... Someone invents a great product, and someone else buys them out and destroys the product so their own inferior product will continue to sell. The invisible hand of the market, hard at work to suppress new and better ideas and designs!

    A lot of Americans have been trained to jump at the word 'socialist' or 'communist' without even knowing what those words mean
    EDITED (12/5/20): Thanks to everyone for joining this discussion! Never thought I'd have a discussion about socialism or communism on CZcams... I may not be able to respond to every comment, so let me just summarize some of my points here.
    Marx proposed socialism and communism essentially as his strong opposition to capitalism, which values profit above everything else and will inevitably cause huge wealth inequality and lead to a deeply divided society. Socialism and communism are the next step in the development of a society to attend to equality and social justice, such that eventually there will be no socioeconomic classes in the society.
    So socialism and communism build on modern technologies and democracy. It is not possible to have real socialism or communism without democracy and personal freedom. Several countries have claimed to be 'socialist', but they are actually dictatorship with sugarcoating.
    As a philosophy, socialism includes a wide range of thoughts and has many different forms: market-based and non market-based. But the key is to focus more on equality, and less on profit.
    For this reason, my view is that the 'social democracy' in most western countries (not US) is already a form of socialism.
    Also, ever wonder why no political party ever calls itself a 'capitalist' party? Because no society can afford many capitalists, and no 'capitalist' party can ever attract the ordinary people. For ordinary people in a capitalist society, their choice is just which capitalist to sell their labor to
