    Easy chords - sure! But this song has some surprising challenges - particularly with the placement of the lyrics. This ukulele lesson should help.

    I like to see that although you have so many beautiful things to see there in Alaska, you don't forget us. Thanks for the tutorial. I've always played this song with cowboy strumm, but after this tutorial I feel invited to accept the challenge. I am going to try it! love❤

    What a delightful treatment of an old song (that could be sung and strummed in a boring monotonous way) but Lisa, you have created a winner, with syncopated singing, variations on strumming and even offering a great challenging picking pattern. And you even had time to throw in a pick n flick. WOW. This video has everything a beginner might want to challenge themselves with, and at the same time satisfy the intermediate player. I SO enjoy being a patreon of Lisa - she has made such a difference in my ukulele life. I highly recommend joining.

    Lisa, thanks for this lesson. You did good again! ;-) (I just starting to learn this last week, so this is particularly awesome) BTW, your photos and story on driving up North is very excellent. I liked the picture with the stop sign best of all. Thanks again lady, be safe and all that stuff.

    I am a ukulele beginner of almost 11 months. I recently learned to play this song from chord tabs I got on-line. My version doesn't use the difficult Bb chord. So, I don't have difficulty playing it. I use the Island strum. I think it helped me to learn to play this song because I am very familiar with singing it with a good guitarist musician at my now-deceased mother's Assisted Living Facility.
    Also, something about the song hits my vocal range well so that I enjoy singing this song.

      I know what you mean about the vocal range. Glad you have good memories with your mom and this song,

    I get music on-line from various web-sites. A few times I have found they print the + symbol after a chord. Example, A+ after
    you have played the A a few words ago. What does that +
    mean???
    Also, another great song that uses the Island Strum that you may wish to perform or use for a tutorial is
    "Blame It On the Ukulele"
    I learned it. Love playing it.

      @TheUkuleleFool  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for the suggestion. The + symbol means that they are adding a note to the chord. Usually the note is included. Like for example C+9 is 0005. It is a C chord with a D - the 9th note after the lowest C note in the chord. Check out my tutorial for Dreaming by Blondie - I use the C+9. czcams.com/video/iqCY3i76Snw/video.html

      @@TheUkuleleFool So, on another music website the notation is :
      Am/C
      Does that mean you play both the Am and the C together?
