V8 easier to find the parts when you are on track if something broke you will find it on autozone o’reilly and 2jz you have to wait until you get the part
For what you are doing 100% 2j. If I were to build it for comp I would probably take the v8 advantage. For grass roots, I want as littke displacement as possible.. I would k24 swap the frs. Shoot for 450hp, clutch dump for days.
2J vs V8 I'd probably go V8 for beginner, low cost stuff but you just can't get around the wild aggression & style of the 2j. but if one would also consider b58 and S58 those would probably atop everything as you'd be able to run them at stock or just slightly over stock power and just have them last; with no need for race fuels, expensive and unavailable parts, stuff randomly breaking etc. and you could probably get the sound out of them too
Don’t get me wrong.. a 2jz sounds good and super fun to drive.. but something about a rowdy V8 that sounds like a tank being driven by a shark and might kill you is the way to go 😎

What’s your opinion after having driven both Nate? I always LOVED the sound that high compression Golen engine makes, tbh it might be my favorite sounding V8 in all of drifting (aside from maaaaybe the RTRs, the RY45 sounds insane in person)
I’m literally torn between them. Currently the JZ is taking the W, but I don’t know if that’s just because it’s so new to me and feels so fresh and challenging. You know?
I would say LS V8 cause it's a smaller package so you can put it closer to the firewall (maybe it's lighter too ?) for a good balance. But both sound sick.
For me jz for the win. Good power no matter what turbo you go with. When it fully built with cams, It is smooth like butter. Plus you can drive it home without disturbing the peace
joined ur channel because of the V8. absolutly love the s13.4 and ive been begging the devs of a game that i play to add the front end swap so i can remake ur car in game.

High comp fast revving v8's will always have a soft spot for me. But a 3.4 or 3.6 choppy 2j is also great. Have to go V8 on this one tho

The v8 is naturally aspirated imagine turbo that will be rowdy
Turbo V8's can be quiet and seem less aggressive than the NA's *In my opinion

V8 sounds tempting but I’ll have to stick to the jz for sunset and sunrise 😅 v8 when I’m a dad !
